Most people have pretty strong opinions about welfare/social assistance. Watch this informative video that may open your minds or help give you info to enlighten others. :D

It is time for America to reconsider who is dependent on welfare. Poverty is not only the lack of income and wealth but also the poverty of power. A key part of the poverty of power is to be defined as dependent: dependent on charity, handouts, welfare. Yet, it is the wealthy, not the poor, who are dependent on government subsidies. To transform dependency into self-determination is the work of poor people's movements. To demonstrate the dependency of the wealthy on welfare as well as on the labor of the poor must be our collective work.

The #GlobalPOV Project is a program of the Global Poverty and Practice (GPP) Minor. Based at the Blum Center for Developing Economies, University of California, Berkeley, the GPP Minor creates new ways of thinking about poverty, inequality and undertaking poverty action.

Gibsons is a lovely little town. I remember hearing about Gibsons at least 40 years ago as I grew up watching Beachcombers on CBC. A couple of years ago, Angel and I made a day trip out there looking for a new place to live. I've also visited on a boating trip. This is really sad news that anyone would even consider such an atrocity. Let's help out and get the message out there that this project is not appropriate. Keep Gibsons the way it is, BEAUTIFUL!!

So sad, Help Harry get his guitar back. Saying a prayer Veena finds her way home!!

PLEASE SHARE WIDELY!!!

Beloved friends, with a heavy heart I want to tell you all
that this morning at Chicago Ohara airport, while I was on
my way to retrieving my luggage, someone stole
my beloved Mohan Veena (pictured to the left of me).

Security cameras showed a man pick it up and walk out.

I've had that Veena more than 20years. There's hardly been a day that I haven't played it. I feel as though I've lost a good friend. I need everyone's help to find it. If you know someone in Chicago, tell them about it.

Maybe it will surface on Craigs list or E-bay. Maybe in a music store or Pawn shop. There's no missing it. The Veena is in a Black Fibreglass Case with lots of stickers.

And the Veena has 20 Strings, 2 layers of strings running parallel. It has tuning heads right down the neck. No other instrument looks like this.

I'm grateful for any help. thanks Harry

Zipolita'z Creative Workz

Well I got a treat for you tonight. It's late and I've got to get to bed, I have class tomorrow. We are all working hard on creating our Portfolios, building our Wordpress Websites and designing our Mobile Apps. You can imagine are brains are on overtime.

I was messing with my blogs last week and I tried that dynamic view but the sites too to long to load when I tried to post so I am back to a cleaner, leaner style.

As a reward for your patience and to show off my talents a bit I made this video of my Creative Works. I hope you enjoy it, it's a collection of my photography, oil paintings, watercolours and digital imaging as wrapped up in a little video I made. Enjoy, Goodnight and Sweet Dreams!

Prayers for Ukraine

As the horrors of the Ukraine spread across the news, social media is asked to help spread the word. I was just watching the 3 Amigos Summit,  and Stephen Harper actually said something that I respected and that was the following:

http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/harper-obama-speak-at-three-amigos-summit-1.2543468
"During their meeting, Harper and Obama discussed and strongly condemned the violence taking place on the streets of Ukraine, agreeing that the Ukrainian government is responsible for protecting its people and upholding the universal right to freedom of expression.

They also agreed that the military should be showing restraint, and should refrain from becoming involved in issues that should be resolved by civilians. Both resolved to work closely with European allies on options for additional measures."

From the internet I found this video

Social Media has been called upon to spread the word and help. This link shares images from  Twitter. Be prepared for graphic images but these are real people, these could be your parents, grandparents, looking at them makes me turn and gasp and cry out ..."how horrible, why...???". It will shock you but make you feel the impact more than the filtered images on the news.

http://www.cbc.ca/newsblogs/yourcommunity/2014/02/face-of-ukraine-maidan-protesters-stories-told-on-social-media.html

Please now I ask you to watch the video above and to say prayers and think positive peaceful thoughts that this horrible situation can be resolved and there will be peace.

Please God send in the angels...many many angels.

And I think it is a good time to watch and share this video "A Message of Hope" once again. Let there be hope!

Indiegogo and a year in Bali Dream

So today was Valentines and I am feeling very happy at the moment but I was really disappointed and sad early.

It should have been the HAPPIEST day, but for Angel it sucked...BiG TiMe!! Let me explain.

Last night we made the chocolate cupcakes for the party they were having at school today. Remember Angel has been homeschooled mostly. Except for kindergarten, half of grade 4 and now. And the great thing about that is that she really wasn't exposed to the meanesss of kids. If you know what I mean. Empathy is seriously lacking out there people. And if you have a kid I hope you will seriously examine their behaviour and yours and figure out where you stand in all this.

Like I said, it should have been the best day. Last night we baked chocolate cupcakes. Angel diligently hand drew and made each Valentines Card for all 27 kids in her class.

We figured out what she would wear, they were having a party and I said why not wear the dress I bought you. We had scored and got it for $11. But she hadn't worn it at Christmas or New Years and I said wear it because you will grow out of it before you get to. So then we decided to make a little top hat...similar to Alice in Alice in Wonderland we were thinking. So we figured that out and it turned out great!!

So in the morning, I got her dressed and off she went with the cupcakes, she was nervous, but I said she looked beautiful and I prayed she have the best day ever...

But when I picked her up from school ...it wasn't the best day ever...she said that 3 kids in her class had been rude to her and that one boy in the grade 7's pointed at her during assembly and then all the grade 7's laughed...which humiliated her.

Her teacher sorted out the kids in her class and they had to write notes of apologies... but still...this has damaged her...she said she never wants to dress up for Valentines again :(.

Darn you haters... why...why did you do that to my little angel.

I was mad and sad when she told me. I told her "haters going to hate but lovers going to love". But the damage has been done. School sucks. It makes me mad that I put her in the system for her to be trampled by mean kids that have no empathy.  I told her...let's quit. I'll pull you out right now...but she said no...she loves her teacher.

Still it makes me want to go a different route. I don't want these kinds of things to keep crushing her beautiful spirit.

One day they had a sub and she didn't know Angel had been homeschooled and had never gone up to write on the blackboard. Angel volunteered and as some point made a small mistake and all the kids started shouting behind her and she burst into tears...and sat down. Now she says she will never do that again.

What to do...what to do..I had an idea...I saw this thing a while ago for a school in Bali. A green school.  http://www.greenschool.org/ I would like to take Angel there for a year. I think I want to do something radical and start a Indiegogo campaign and see if we can raise money to go. Would you support us?

I'm almost finished my course...so hopefully I can work from there..on my computer...I don't know how much money we'd need but I know we are very good at budgeting and those of you that have followed on our Adventurez in Mexico know we could provide you will lots of tips, photos, videos and entertainment if we went. http://adventurezinmexico.blogspot.ca/
http://adventurezinmexico2008.blogspot.ca/

Anyways...that's my plan. What do you think? She such a talented and smart person, would you help us so that she can blossom to the full potential that she can be. Check out this...she made these.

Buddy, can you spare a dime..

I am posting this for a friend of a friend...please help support this worthy project if you can.

I’m Dying But This Project Doesn’t Have To…

Over the past several years I’ve led a small social profit organization working on PreShow, a software application which will radically improve the process of creating live shows. I’ve also been undergoing treatment for a terminal form of prostate cancer. While I’ve benefited from many new therapies, the reality is, I’m now running out of options.
While it’s clear I need to pass the torch on the leadership of our group, all of us remain committed to launching PreShow.
Ironically, just as my final deadline approaches, our software is hitting its stride. PreShow is now available as a live BETA application at gopreshow.com, and has just received approval for a substantial Canada Media Fund (CMF) investment. To unlock these CMF funds, and to launch PreShow, we must raise matching funds of $59,000.
Our KickStarter funding goal is therefore $59,000. Please help us with a contribution by clicking one of the pledge levels on the right of this page. Your contribution to this campaign will give this project life

Just an update, my friend of the friend has promised to shave her beautiful hair off if they can raise $8000 in the next 6 days!!

Be a Rockstar Blogger!!

A friend just shared a great article on Blogging, I have homework to do and can't read it all right now but there's some great take aways and here are 10.

"How to Become a Rockstar Blogger and Monetize your Passion

In three words: follow your bliss"  https://medium.com/personal-brand/d5e0a3c3b7a4

Rockstar bloggers chase their passions, not dollars.
Rockstar bloggers believe in themselves.
Rockstar bloggers play the long-term game.
Rockstar bloggers embrace failure as a part of the game.
Rockstar bloggers are interested in others more than in themselves.
Rockstar bloggers are very hard workers.
Rockstar bloggers respond to every tweet and comment.
Rockstar bloggers are relationship builders.
Rockstar bloggers are empirical.
Rockstar bloggers constantly read, learn, test and experiment.

I can answer yes to almost all, I am not sure what empirical means.

For example this weekend I just remodeled 3 of my blogs, and added a old blog that I renamed and updated...

Blogging isn't a get rich quick scheme, if that happens for you, God Bless and all the power to you.

For me it's about sharing...whether it photos, art, info and it's definitely hard work and I never quit, I may take a break or step out for a bit but for the last 7 + years I have been blogging on a regular basis on several blogs.  Anyways here is the link and you can check it out https://medium.com/personal-brand/d5e0a3c3b7a4

Oops, just realized one video didn't show up.  Fixing it now
I always loved that movie Pay It Forward,

Here's the one I missed and it's the key!!!

it's a wonderful movie that is sad, inspiring and deals with many of todays real life issues.

Surfing Facebook today came across this video about Neknomination a drinking game that is gone viral and resulted in 2 deaths.  http://globalnews.ca/news/1136850/1136850/

As this video points out this type of game has been around a long game and it asks the question what can be done about it. It also points out some great people that flipped this thing on it's head and came up with Raknomination- Random Acts of Kindness.

I hope we see more of this. Please share widely and inspire people to do more RAK-random acts of kindness.

Update: Oh this one is so sweet, just had to add it!!

This one too is lovely!!
