Resolutions & Yay-a New Year!

Blog post by Tina Winterlik © 2011

I've had better years, and I'm looking forward to the New Year. I'm all about simplifying. I need to cut loose a bunch of stuff, mainly my blogs. It's time to re-vamp again. Cleanse, Delete. You will see in a bit some changes so don't be alarmed, it's still me, just getting rid of some baggage.

My two sites Tina Winterlik and Adventurez in Mexico are my most popular but I want to drive my traffic over to Paintingathon, my painting site.

I think I'll get rid of all the social media sites or at least not have them the focus any more. For some reason, Blogger has done something and my tabs links are not working so I need to change all that.

I tried and learned a lot of things this year. So I must give myself a pat on the back for that.

My social media skills advanced alot and I learned more about the market and what was going on out there.

I created many new videos and short films and my skills really improved and I am pleased with that. If you go back and look at the little videos I made with Animoto, you will understand my pleasure.

Film and video is something I still really like but editing is so much harder and excuse me...but BORING so that made re-think alot of things.

You see I created a number of versions of ADVENTUREZ IN MEXICO in a documentary style. And well I am not sure if I will ever share it. I might today... but need to watch it again. I may only put it up for today and then take it down. A sort of Sneak Preview and Christmas and New Year's Gift all rolled into one. A Special Thank You to all my readers. If I follow thru with these thoughts you should see it a bit later today.

Anyways other discoveries this year, I CAN PAINT!! I am proud of myself, and I know it will take alot more practice and time but it's coming and it feels really fantastic.

So I am looking forward to the New Year to see what wonderful amazing surprising things it has in store. I feel it's going to be "Special" because people believe it will be. They are creating it, generating it, projecting it. So it will be.

I'm doing my best to Project and be Positive to so that 2012 Rocks!

Well those are a few of my realizations and sort of a resolution. Nothing to exacting. I like it loose like that. Happy New Year's All!

Wishing Everyone a Safe Happy New Year & Feliz año nuevo!

Come on EVERYONE let's collectively put our thoughts together and help find TOFFEE. This poor poor dog, has lots his family, they were killed in a tragic accident and he was lost during it. Please Share this info widely and try to find Toffee. I sure hope we can make this happen.

Find Toffee

A family friend told a radio station in Revelstoke that Toffee is very shy. She was wearing a red collar at the time of the crash, but does not have any ID tags on her.

My prayers and condolences for all those grieving such a tragic loss at this time of year. I'm truly sorry.

So it's the quiet before the storm. This time tomorrow morning, much of the kaos may be over. Who knows I might luck out and she'll sleep in but I doubt it.

Christmas Time! Christmas time is finally here. Amazing, it always sneaks up on you and there's all that hustle and bustle and stress.
Train Under Tree

Luckily we are going to have a lovely Christmas this year. Nothing grand or elaborate, just a simple West Coast Christmas.

Here is our tree, it will get you in the mood. Note the seashells, they were collected from Mexico, the Caribbean and South Pacific. Most of the beach glass was collected from BC.

Making a Gingerbread house. Tonight on Christmas Eve we will make Gingerbread Cookies.

As the light finally breaks here on it's a really wet dark rainy morning, I can't help but feel my daughter's disappointment, there's no snow. That would make it perfect.  We are going to have to move to remedy that one I'm afraid.

Anyways it's a beautiful day and I give GREAT THANKS to all the people that helped us this year. Thank you for getting us to this point. This comfort level where we know that we are very blessed. I am saying prayers that everyone else can be as blessed.

Here we are again Christmas eve day! I look forward to your day. I hope everyone else does to. A savoury day, full of anticipation. Have fun all. Enjoy. I hope you can relax.
Merry Christmas Eve Day!!

What the F is happening in the U.S.???

What the f is happening in the world, in the U.S.....have we gone back in time? Seriously...insanity is ruling.

Small Miracles have Huge Impact!!

It's a GREAT DAY! Today something SPECIAL AND WONDERFUL happened. One of Angel's teachers brought us a Christmas hamper! Yay!!! Full of lots of wonderful yummy healthy treats. HOW AWESOME! and two gifts.

That was so sweet and so appreciated as we REALLY NEEDED IT!  I'm feeling much happier today. I feel loved and the outlook on life is much brighter today.

Then I read this SUPER WONDERFUL STORY about people paying off lay away plans at Kmart. http://www.thestar.com/news/world/article/1103024 You just have to read this, it had me balling like a baby. It revives your faith in mankind when people do beautiful things like this. Like it says in the story, sometimes $50 doesn't seem like much but it can be a million when given to the right person at the right time.

I hope lots of people get the help they need and we can all Share this Wonderful Christmas Joy. Right now my girl is putting together a gingerbread house...something we might not have gotten considering things...it's these little things that bring so much joy but when cash is short...it's a choice that or milk...

Thank you to people who love and care about others and for making efforts. We didn't ask, someone just did that. Thanks Ms.M. We love you!! We love everyone and wish you all a Merry Christmas!

The Christmas Bureau Experience

Blog post by Tina Winterlik © 2011
http://tinawinterlik.blogspot.com
http://twitter.com/#!/zipolita @zipolita
http://gplus.to/zipolita Google+

It's been a tough year, tough for too many people. The world really is messed up lately and we see and hear more everyday. Especially with Social Media...we can help get an earful.

It's been a tough year for us. I was just thinking how glad I'm going to be to say good bye to 2011. While nice things did happen, we really struggled this year, harder that so many others in the past.

We dealt with so many issues. We had bedbugs. HOW ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! what a nightmare. They are gone now but there was endless sleepless nights of paranoia and exhaustion from fighting them and the fear that we would have to be sprayed with some terrible toxic chemical. We did it with steam and essential oils but it was hell all the same.

I got sick 2x with bad sinus and lymph gland infections that made me have earaches where I couldn't move my head, let alone stand up.

I couldn't get my Online Social Media Workshops off the ground because of these...and then I just burned out when I saw how flooded the market is with people learning Social Media.

We lost 2 loved ones in our extended family.

Anyways, this year pretty much sucked but I MUST count my blessings that yes, I had a roof over my head, and enough money to pay the bills but the very little for groceries- usually less than $200 a month...which makes it really hard and you have to be pretty creative.

That said some people have been super generous with their time and support and other things for us. So I am grateful, I'm just ready to say goodbye 2011.

Anyways, yesterday I made my way to the Christmas Bureau at 205 Victoria st, Vancouver, where I had to stand over an hour in the freezing cold. Why is that?

Obviously people down on their luck are here, and then they are forced to stand outside in the cold for an hour. That's cruel isn't it.

I almost left, but I wasn't there so much for the toys, I was there for the $50 gift certificate for groceries. Groceries have gone up so much...I would say almost double or at least a 1/3. (so if I had to stand there for an hour in the freezing cold to earn my $50 I was doing it)

When I spend $60 on groceries these days, I ask myself, "That's all!" and it was $60.

Anyways, I will tell you something else, it's slim pickings at the Christmas Bureau. Nothing for parents, and just a few gifts for the kid. Thank God we have family that will pick up the slack there. I really feel sorry for the kids that don't.

What I wanted to say was though, sure would be nice if they could set it up somewhere so the people could wait inside. I heard if you live in Burnaby, you get to go in Metrotown. So what gives?

At the very least can they set up a propane heater to keep the people warm...Could somebody donate that??

Well I'm going to end this post, they are grinding the outside cement off my building...for 3 months now, ...I'M GOING CRAZY!!

I'm praying and projecting that next year will be the best ever.
I'll post my projections later. Until then I pray we all have a better next year, especially those of us that need it most.

Wishing you stress free HOLIDAY SEASON! and praying that all the Grinchy people that are hoarding all the money SHARE!

This so awful!! Listen to this! What shameful behaviour. Thanks Elizabeth for bringing this out! China is giving us shit for dropping out. The world is angry at us. I don't blame them. If ONLY people would go and vote and get rid of Stephen Harper.

Update: Just saw this and have to share. I love Rick Mercer!!

Poor Ole Bear...looks like he took a garbage truck downtown Vancouver. Maybe he wanted to do a little Christmas Shopping. But instead he got tranquilized...I hope he's going to be okay, it will be so sad if he's not.

He looks like a lovely old bear. Big and Brown and Beautiful. So sad that this should happen to him. How weird.

I can't imagine what we would do if we had seen him and we were going downtown today too, and walking...wow, that would have really freaked me out. Mainly because I would be with my kid and that always changes the game.

Hey Brother, can you spare a loonie or a toonie..., that's what we call dollars here in Canada.

My friend Mysti is an incredibly talented woman and you can help by making a pledge. Her music is so inspiring, uplifting, and empowering.

She really has an AMAZING VOICE!! I first came across her music last year while trying to find music for my videos. Wow!! I was really impressed and her music really touched my soul. So if you can help that would be so kind.

Here's the video of some photos I took at the Bright Nights in Stanley Park.  We had a wonderful time, it really is amazing and you should definitely go if you can. It's cold, so wear tights or long johns and dress really warm. The train ride is so beautiful but it costs to go on. If you can not afford it, it's still beautiful to just walk around. And Santa is there, so you can get a photo. http://vancouver.ca/parks/events/brightnights/  You can check it out more here. Happy Holidays!
