SAY NO TO GMO-WATCH THIS VIDEO

Please I implore you to watch this. It's 1:19 minutes long but we need to share and educate each other. If you don't understand what GMO this will answer your questions.

Seeds of Death: Unveiling The Lies of GMO's - Full Movie

It makes me want to cry, it makes me angry, confused and so frustated.

ARE GMO'S KILLING YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY?
This year I lost a dear friend to pancreatic cancer. I don't know why! He was a healthy person, he spent so much time outside, exercised and he was so kind and gentle. He was a vegetarian and some how I just know that it was this GMO's that did it.

Monsanto and all the other chemical companies, I believe they are responsible. I think they killed my friend thru their soy products and who know what else. I know he always tried to eat organic but as you can see from this video we can't. Everything we eat is becoming or is genetically modified.

Even my mom, I think about it now, because she changed her diet and as she became more ill she was drinking more soy milk and taking more medicines to fight the illness. It's all connected. I used to blame it on malnutrion that she suffered as a child but it's so much bigger than this.

Please watch this video, the whole thing, and it will make you think so deeply.

We need to stand up and unite together and demand this to STOP!!

We need to demand FOOD FREEDOM.

It's scary, what can one person do. One, we can share this video, keep talking about it, grow our own seed if you are so fortune to have land. We are in for the battle of our lives but if we don't... will our children survive?  Sadly the answer is "NO". We have to do this for our children and for future generations.

Please don't just leave this to the next person.  I know your busy, we all are but YOU are being called upon now to do what ever you have in your power to fight Monsanto and every other company that is creating GMO and forcing it into our food system.

This isn't a joke, it's not something to just leave to the next guy. We have the power of the internet, we can share this video and empower others. Keep up the pressure. Do what you can.

I feel powerless in so many ways. I have no land, no home, I can not grow my own seed AND I am forced to buy food that I don't know what's in it, or questionable food or food that I am sure has in it because I don't have the money not to. I have to feed my child. This film will scare the sh_t of you. It's the the terrifying truth.

But I can share and I can watch and educate myself and create conversations in the hope that YOU, yes YOU have the power to make the changes that you are capable of .

Together we must try. We MUST try!! It's the ONLY hope for our children. DO IT FOR YOUR KIDS! Do it for your family and friends and pets and all animals. We must try! Please try! Please!

Vancouver Children's Festival 2013

We made it to the Vancouver's Children's Festival today!! It's something we always look forward to and we have made it almost every year for 10 years except the 1st year and once we were living in Nelson.

We loved it when it was over in Vanier Park and we were sad to see it move. But they told us it was too expensive to put on the shows over there and it would be more affordable for all if they moved it to Granville Market.

But sadly that hasn't been true. With BC having the highest child poverty rate I hardly see who can afford to go except the privileged.  That said I don't know enough about the stats to really comment but I'll tell that we have never been ever able to afford to go to a show.

I remember hearing that they were going to lower the prices so that it was affordable to everyone. Granted the school children get in for a lower rate and don't have to pay themselves as the school pays, but since we have homeschooled most of the time we miss out there.

Last year when Angel did go to school the teacher chose a different time to take them to a play so they didn't get to go....but luckily I took her.

And I was so pleased that it was only $5 for her. I didn't have to pay. But this year something very different happened.

I should have known the day was going to start out as a bit of a stinker when we came upon this leaving home. LOL!

They raised the prices...to $8. Now I was sure that it was just for the child's activity wrist band but apparently it was adults too. I was really upset. Luckily I had the money but just the week before we wouldn't have been able to go and I know it would have really disappointed Angel.

When I commented on the Facebook page they said that "some people slipped past the volunteer last year" well that's not true. I paid at the main booth and if it was true then why did everyone in the activity tents let me in and not say anything. I don't like it. I must say I am really disappointed by the high prices. $16 for the two of us...and it was fun, granted but it's changed alot.

We could do our own facepainting if we wanted, which was always a big highlight. People could pay for professional to paint or do their own. Unfortunately the person that did it this year could not paint. Since Angel and I are both very artistic it was frustrating when we asked for a simple rainbow and clouds the girl did not even know the colours of the rainbow and well the clouds she did..Angel said a " 2 year old could have done better!"  They should just let us do our own....like the old days.. much more fun.  Angel was gracious and thanked her..but...

That said we had fun. We loved the sock puppet but I heard they may not have it next year. I found there was much less to do this year and less performers...no people on stilts or jugglers wandering about...a few people dressed up but it's seems to have lost some of it's surprise and awe.

I guess it's all in the theatre performances...the ones we never make it too.

Well maybe next year we will try to save up for one at these prices
Featured Performances
Adult:  $25
Child:  $15

Variety Show
Adult:  $25
Child:  $22

Sparrow
Adult:  $25
Child:  $5

Pyjama Nights
Adult: $22
Child: $12

well that's a lot of groceries that we  could use and since the price of food has gone way up...you understand.

I guess my main beef is that they said that they were going to make it so everyone could afford it, this is certainly not true.

At $5 for the activity band I thought that was really fair because a mom with a few kids could do this...but at $8 a wristband and she or dad has to pay too...it adds up.

With the new festivals being announced and all the beer gardens and stuff...where's the funding for the kids. If Vancouver wants to be known as a fun city then give the families a break and make it affordable....for all.  And to be truthful with so many very wealthy people ....do any of them care about the kids..the future generation.

I just feel with us having to pay such high fees for the wristband we were help paying for some of those shows that other people get to see ...the ones we can't afford.

And here's a question if the Sponsors help out and put out all that cash where does it go.  The activity area can't be that expensive to run...a lot of it must be donated or volunteers....so that means they are paying for the shows... the ones that are supposed to be paid for by the expensive theatre tickets.

Power Smart was nice, they gave pencil crayons so kudos for that. And the sock puppet tent...I guess those socks add up...I'm just trying to figure out where the money goes for the activity area...

Anyways I guess we are lucky it was even on this year. For me it's sort of lost it's edge..Angel she still likes it...

There was one performer at the end, she made the day for us.."THE SMILEY FROGTOGRAPHER".if she hadn't been there well I don't think we really would have had such a great time. Thank you!!! :D

The Froggy Photographer- she really made our day...so funny!

The Last Mimzy - Monsanto, Russia and Obama

Have you seen  The Last Mimzy?  It's this wonderful show that has a powerful message.  If you haven't seen it I just want to warn you with a Spoil Alert, as I'm going to talk about it here.

Here's a preview.

Wow I get goosebumps when she says "something in them is broken and we have to fix it"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From Wikipedia The Last Mimzy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Last_Mimzy

The Plot
Presented as a memory flashback by a woman named Lena, The Last Mimzy is the story of a distant future's attempt to avert a catastrophic ecological disaster that has destroyed their world. High tech devices, masquerading as toys, are sent back in time into the hands of Noah and Emma, two children who live with their parents Jo (Joely Richardson) and David (Timothy Hutton) in early 21st century Seattle. The "toys" are mostly incomprehensible to Emma (Rhiannon Leigh Wryn) and Noah (Chris O'Neil), except for what appears to be a stuffed rabbit named Mimzy. Sensing the strangeness of the devices, the children initially keep their discovery a secret from their parents. Read more here

"Mimzy has brought a message from humanity's distant future, which Emma explains to mean that pollution has corrupted humanity's DNA. Many rabbits like Mimzy were sent to the past, but none had successfully returned; Mimzy is the last one remaining."  Read more here

Today I have been very busy and I just got around to checking my Facebook now. I'm tired, I've been working on the computer all morning but what I just read can not be overlooked or left for later.

This link was shared with me and it totally freaked me out. It is so bizarre.  I did a ton of work yesterday, both on the computer and spring cleaning. Yet I couldn't sleep and got up and took a very long hot bath. While in there I was meditating. I do my best meditating in the bathtub for some reason.  A lot of amazing thoughts transpired during this time.

So that is why to read this news right now is so very very disturbing.

(Update 2017. )Apparently according to snopes this was a hoax but makes you go hmmmm....but we know the truth about snopes...right.

Russia Warns Obama: Monsanto

"The shocking minutes relating to President Putin’s meeting this past week with US Secretary of State John Kerry reveal the Russian leaders “extreme outrage” over the Obama regimes continued protection of global seed and plant bio-genetic giants Syngenta and Monsanto in the face of a growing “bee apocalypse” that the Kremlin warns “will most certainly” lead to world war." Read more here

"At the center of this dispute between Russia and the US, this MNRE report says, is the “undisputed evidence” that a class of neuro-active insecticides chemically related to nicotine, known as neonicotinoids, are destroying our planets bee population, and which if left unchecked could destroy our world’s ability to grow enough food to feed its population."   Read more here

Is "The Last Mimzy" going come true?  It seems like this could be it.

As millions of people marched around the world http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/March_Against_Monsanto
this last weekend to protest Monsanto http://www.huffingtonpost.com/dave-murphy/monsanto-gmo-food_b_3337043.html and with all the messing around that scientists have done (what happened to ethics?) many people including me are afraid they are about to destroy the world.

And if they don't, could the outrage over what has been done cause a world war. http://topinfopost.com/2013/05/28/russia-warns-obama-monsanto

I am 51 yet my child is only 10. This shakes me. Ever since I was a child I heard stories of World Wars and I watched the Vietnam war on television. When I was Angel's age I remember saying to my mom, pleading with her, why couldn't they bring those men home.

Just yesterday I was explaining to her about the show M.A.S.H. a show that came on about that time, only it was based on the Korean war.

I was explaining to Angel that I believed they used humor and sarcasm to show the horror of the Korean war because back then you couldn't say much politically on television or you would get in trouble...like The Smothers Brothers did.

Thank goodness we have Social Media. Right now it looks like our only hope in some ways.

Anyways, I don't want to be afraid. In my visions last night there were many messages and the main one near the end is about meditating.   Meditating for peace.

My meditation also told me to be grateful and to be forgiving. To send out abundance to all, even those who have hurt me or upset me...that those most of all I must send healing positive energy.

It made me think about about the things I've been posting about Stephen Harper and others whom I am so upset by with the oil and tar sands and the pipeline.

But being negative will not help.

I believe that we must be positive. This is a tried and tested method.

When you send out bad energy it ricochets and flies right back at you.
Let me tell you that the other day I was stressed and broke...completely.  I was wondering where, where could I get some work, cash, money, food and other necessities.

I meditated and then amazingly a miracle happened. And I was very grateful for the miracle but the miracle didn't just happen, it was because I was sending out love and positive energy to all that a job came and I was able to get a new computer and camera. (both broke while traveling in Mexico from the heat and salty air I guess.)

So I guess my message is please we must unite on this. We must pray and send positive energy to all, especially the people that upset us more. Pray that they will be healed, that the will see the light, that they will change their ways and help save this world instead of destroying it.

Won't you join me.

I know I have posted and re-posted this video but it's so powerful. Be sure to watch the second  one too.  One thing my meditation told me was to create videos to help people meditate. I have so many beautiful photos that I am definitely going to do this.

It's interesting because I had my tarot cards read while in Mexico.  It was just a brief reading. It was my first time and the person doing it did not speak English as a first language so it was simpler to keep it simple.  But what he told me was profound.  That I was supposed to do something...and that wasn't for myself but for humanity, something big.

Well I believe this is it. This is the big thing. I need to convince you all to meditate daily but more important that we meditate together so that we can be POWERFUL together. So we can create the change needed so that THE LAST MIMZY doesn't come true!

So just a final note, a lot of other things have happened lately to re-confirm my faith in many things. My spiritual beliefs are personal so I will not share them here but I am wondering have you sensed this lately. I'd be interested to hear your experiences if you care to share.

If you don't want to post them here please go to my Facebook page and we can interact there. https://www.facebook.com/tinawinterlikfb

Listen to this great video!! It helps put things in perspective! :D

About this video- Youtube
In 2005, author David Foster Wallace was asked to give the commencement address to the 2005 graduating class of Kenyon College. However, the resulting speech didn't become widely known until 3 years later, after his tragic death. It is, without a doubt, some of the best life advice we've ever come across, and perhaps the most simple and elegant explanation of the real value of education. We made this video, built around an abridged version of the original audio recording, with the hopes that the core message of the speech could reach a wider audience who might not have otherwise been interested. However, we encourage everyone to seek out the full speech (because, in this case, the book is definitely better than the movie). -The Glossary
