INVESTIGATE. CREATE. DREAM BIG.

Why are we so dependent on airplanes for long-distance travel?

What happened to passenger ships that once connected coastal communities?

What if we brought back transportation ships — not cruise ships, but practical passenger vessels where you buy a ticket, bring your luggage and actually go somewhere?

What if you could travel:

🇨🇦 Vancouver → Mexico 🇲🇽

without going through the United States?

And what about rail?

We're already talking about restoring old rail connections in British Columbia. What could happen if we started thinking about transportation as a connected system again — rail + passenger ship + rail?

Students could investigate the history, economics, engineering, environmental impact, Indigenous perspectives, immigration, tourism, fuel costs, ports, rail infrastructure, safety and regulations.

Then design it.

Draw the ship.

Map the route.

Calculate the travel time.

Figure out what a ticket might cost.

Work out where people would stop.

Ask what would make it practical today.

And then ask the biggest question:

Why not?

Sometimes the problem isn't that something is impossible.

Sometimes we've simply stopped imagining it.

Kids — dream BIG.

Teachers — give them something worth dreaming about.

And maybe one of them will build the transportation system we're going to need 20 years from now. 🌊🚂
