Redesign the AED.

 Give those college engineers and bored high-school geniuses a project:

Redesign the AED.

Make it smaller. Make it lighter. Make it cheaper. Make it ridiculously easy for an ordinary person to use in a panic.

We have the technology. We have the smartphones. We have tiny computers in our pockets that can do things that seemed impossible not that long ago.

So why shouldn't we have a mini AED that people can carry, keep in a community emergency kit, or grab from a nearby public-access station?

Design it so someone doesn't have to be a medical professional to understand it.

Maybe your project saves someone's grandma someday.

Now that's an engineering project worth being bored for. ❤️
