The STAND: Trump’s America and the Rise of the Orange Chaos Bringer

The STAND: Trump’s America and the Rise of the Orange Chaos Bringer

By Tina Winterlik (Zipolita)

Once upon a time, in a world teetering on the edge of madness, a great and terrible plague swept across the land. No, not Captain Trips. This wasn’t a virus that wiped out 99% of humanity in weeks. No, this was worse.

This was a mind virus.

A plague of disinformation, fear, nationalism, and cult-like devotion that turned once-reasonable people into raving lunatics, ready to follow their leader off the nearest metaphorical (or literal) cliff. And at the center of it all?

Randall Flagg reborn as Donald J. Trump.

Act 1: The Orange Prophet Rises

Some say the chaos began in 2016, others argue it started long before. But one thing is certain: By 2025, the Infection had fully taken hold. The infected—now known as MAGA Walkers—no longer questioned reality. Their leader, a bloated, red-faced sorcerer of stupidity, could do no wrong.

Then, as if sensing the world hadn’t suffered enough, the Orange Prophet declared:

"Fentanyl is a Weapon of Mass Destruction. And we need to DO SOMETHING about it. A BIGLY something."

Act 2: The War on Reality

With the stroke of a pen (or more likely, the incoherent mumblings of a deranged mind), fentanyl was now a WMD. Not a public health crisis. Not a corporate-fueled opioid disaster. No, no. A national security threat.

This, of course, was the perfect excuse to:

  • Expand surveillance (Because the government definitely needed more ways to spy on people.)
  • Increase police crackdowns (Because arresting poor and unhoused people always fixes things.)
  • Justify foreign intervention (Because nothing says “solving a crisis” like invading another country.)

And so, the once-free nations of the world watched in horror as the U.S. military prepared for war—not in the Middle East this time, but right next door.

Act 3: The Canadian Menace

As if things couldn’t get more absurd, the new enemy wasn’t just Mexico anymore. No, now Canada—the land of maple syrup and apologies—was suddenly the biggest threat to America’s safety.

"Canada is the nastiest country to deal with," the Prophet declared, sending his horde of followers into a rage. The northern lands, long thought to be peaceful and polite, were harboring dangerous fentanyl producers (aka doctors, nurses, and harm-reduction advocates).

And so, with a horrific mix of ignorance, ego, and unchecked power, the U.S. prepared for The Great Northern Purge.

Act 4: The Resistance

But not everyone was infected. Across the lands, small groups of people gathered—artists, writers, Indigenous leaders, scientists, and the last remaining sane humans. They saw through the madness, understanding that the war wasn’t against fentanyl, Canada, or any other imagined enemy.

The real war was against reality itself.

And so, the resistance began. Armed with nothing but truth, satire, and an unshakable will to survive, they stood against the Orange Prophet and his army of brainwashed drones.

Would they succeed? Would sanity ever return?

Or would the world forever belong to Randall Flagg’s final form—Donald J. Trump, Lord of the Empty Mind?

Only time would tell.

What Can We Do?

If you feel like you’re living in a Stephen King novel, you’re not alone. The way things are going, we might as well be. But unlike The Stand, we don’t have to let the bad guys win.

  1. Stay informed – Don’t fall for the propaganda machine.
  2. Speak out – Share the truth before it gets buried under nonsense.
  3. Support the resistance – Whether it’s activists, journalists, or just sane people trying to push back against insanity.
  4. Laugh (when you can) – Satire is a powerful weapon against fascism.

The world doesn’t belong to the madmen—not if we fight back.

So what do you think? Are we headed toward Trump’s dystopian Stand-verse? Or do we still have time to stop the madness?
