My Heritage and 7 Generations

Going through old photos, came across this, Angel and me in Nelson, the health nurse took this photo I believe. Angel fell asleep.

Photography by Tina Winterlik aka Zipolita © 2016

So lately I have been tracing my heritage and this is what I found out. I believe this is a photo of my Great Great Granpa John Enos. Taken in 1915.

I even have a copy of the 1881 Census stating
John Enos 46 yr
Eliza Enos 45 yr
Joseph Enos 14yr
So it's very exciting for me! So some of the info on this blog post is not correct.

Photography by Tina Winterlik aka Zipolita © 2016

I've found some great info here.
Royal BC Museum Archives under Enos

Here's how it breaks down
Gr.Gr. Grandpa John Enos (Portuguese) married
Gr. Gr. Grandma Theresa Eliza(Songhee), they had a baby called John Enos but he did not survive. :(

Then they had
Gr. Grandpa John Joseph Enos and he marries
Gr. Grandma Mary Ann Poirier (Metis) in 1891.
they have
Grandpa Joseph Enos and he marries
Grandma Anna Anderson
They had Shirley my mom who marries Leonard my dad

I would like to do a documentary on the Enos family and I think the diary would be are really great thing to see.  Would be super cool to go to Portugal- to the Azores and see if anything could be found.

There's even a diary, I need to get over to Victoria to see it. I am hoping to, sometime once Angel's out of school. Be an adventure. :D

Maybe, maybe I just might try Indiegogo to fund my doc or I'll apply for a grant. Or maybe I will just sell some art and it will pay for it. Please send me successful thoughts.

Well that's all I got for now. I have been researching Enos Lake on Nanoose Bay alot  on google and google maps and found out about that Endangered Enos Stickleback.
Did you know that Enos lake is surrounded on one side by an Enchanted Forest!
https://goo.gl/maps/bUZsGqo8NCw  Check it out!

I would really like to do a documentary or short film on the Enos family ...I would love to go to Nanoose bay, even if it's just to document as it is and imagine how it was.
It's really pretty on google maps. There was supposed to be a diary...I hope to find it, that would be so cool to document that.
. I think the census is pretty cool. So happy I found the other. Glad it's all online.
Oh ya, I want to get this done for Angel and I one day. It tests your DNA so you can see your ancestry.

Anyways the real cool part is now our Songhee/Metis heritage is documented :D along with our Portuguese/Swedish/

Oh the reason for the title is I counted all the generations going back and then forward...if and when Angel were to have a child, she would be the 7th generation. That's why I guess I am working so hard to learn my past and the future ...so that hopefully my grandchild(ren) if I am so blessed have a good life, full of love and healthy, good food, good environment, healthy spiritually, it's all I can hope and pray and believe in.

Do our best, it's all anyone can ask. Who am I?

I think it's important to know your heritage and in doing so, you can be a rainbow in someone else's cloud.  Do you agree?

Vancouver- 1964- Did you grow up here?

My grandma lived in Vancouver, I was 2 years old when they made this film.

We used to drive in from Surrey every week to visit her for Sunday dinner.

If you want to see what Surrey BC looked like back then  Check this out!

Wow! This video below is so enlightening.

I mean it sounded like they really meant well by the people, we know so much more about housing and materials and things now...

Sadly it really has taken a terrible turn for the worse with $$MILLION homes, EMPTY condos, Flippin' houses, Highest Child Poverty rate, .....

I wish my mom was here and could tell me more stories.

Anyways this was shared over on the https://www.facebook.com/events/1020175144718106/

a little while ago and I put it on my blog

Vancouver City Hall Sleep Over- You're Invited.

Some people thought it up and it started as a joke but it's rallying people and people are talking and if you want change it has to start at a grass roots level.

I made a bunch of suggestions of what we could do while there.

Ideas for the Sleep Over at City Hall

So people are getting very clever and creative. I love that!

EVERYONE deserves food and shelter. It's a basic human right!!

Raise The Rates

And why should young people or any age spend $$$$$ for education and then suddenly they have to pay ridiculous rents.

How can a woman have children when their is no security, how can children grow into health adults being raised  in poverty-  when the daily stress of making choices between paying rent and food or the laundry, transporation, medicine, clothes, shoes...

Article 25: Right to an adequate standard of living

Poverty in BC- Where is Social Justice?

Don't lose hope, we can do this, TOGETHER! We have to be smart and creative.

We MUST restore the balance! It's about RESPECT!

Shari Ulrich Instruments Found!

Here is her Facebook page

Translink - I have a beef with you!

Today I went to go from Vancouver to Surrey.

I looked it up the night before and it said this. Now I haven't really learned about the stored value and up until now...I haven't purchased a compass card for myself because I haven't had any extra cash and normally I walk everywhere but today I needed to go to Surrey and I got ready to pay the stupid $8.25 each way, but the last time I rode somehow the guy told me it was just $5.50 so I was confused but off I went.

I got on the 22 and the driver was very nice, he said it would be best to pay at Skytrain or I will have pay 2x.

So I do that. I get to the Skytrain, I tell the man I am going to Surrey, he shows me how to get the same paper card, but this one has a chip, so it can make the extremely annoying beeping sound and open the gate ....and told me to tap in, tap out and then use it to get the bus.

Off I go.
I find my bus in Surrey- which is a long walk from the station----who plans these things...., anyways all is well.

I complete my errand and

I go back to catch the 96 BLine back and the driver is not nice. He's telling me I must pay and he's telling me how the other driver did me a big diservice for not explaining it to me and he's talking down to me, which when your confused and annoyed makes you even more annoyed.

I am not a child, I am not stupid, your system is stupid.

So I pay $2.75 for the bus from 76th ave to 96ave and then I go to the Skytrain station and it charges $5.50 to take the Skytrain back to Vancouver.

So far I paid
$5.50 Skytrain to Surrey- because I have the card- I can take it on the bus.
$2.75 Bus to Skytrain
$5.50 Skytrain to Vancouver- now I have the card- I can take it on the bus
13.75 - RIP OFF!

Now this is less than before...if I had to travel midweek it was $8.75 x 2 =$17.50 for a stupid ride to Surrey and back...who can afford that??? but on most occassions I could go on the weekends, and don't forget I had to add my kids fare in there too.

Anyways, so I was mad and I came home and looked it up.

Anyways, it made no sense to me as I don't have a Compass card, didn't really want to spend $6 to get one.

That's right it cost $6 to get one, before you can add anything.

This is where I was upset with the man at the Skytrain station in Surrey. He spoke down to me too.

I tried to explain the situation and and he cuts me off and at first he says...well it must have expired, then I told him I paid and everything I explained above and how I have to pay all this extra and it's a rip off and the system is not good.

I told him that "you people" meaning people that make the "living wage" which many do not, we may not have extra money to put out for the compass card, when we need to go somewhere...and that maybe we only go very rarely.

He told me about this Stored Value- how it's $4.20 when you use it.

Now this was not and has never been explained clearly and I haven't seen it on a video but I am going to look.

I find the text on the Translink page confusing...but I don't like text...I am visual.

I want something on there in BIG LETTERS THAT SAYS-

Still it annoys me I have to pay $6 for a piece of plastic, and have to make special trips to load it, because the buses can't do it and I don't live beside a skytrain station.

I have to go all the way to London Drugs or somewhere...and the nearest to me is like 15 blocks away or more...

Compass Vending Machines (CVMs)* located at:
    • SkyTrain, SeaBus and West Coast Express stations
    • BC Ferries Tsawwassen and Horseshoe Bay terminals
    • 18 London Drugs stores

Anyways, that's my rant.

Oh the last part of my rant was while the man told me about the STORED VALUE, I felt he too spoke down to me and told me- shouted to me- in front of many people as I was going up the escalators- THE NEXT TIME YOU GET YOUR CHECK - GO PUT 6 OR $10 ON THERE....

Between the beeping, the riduculous fares, and misinformation, there's going to be alot more meltdowns....

And if you want help fast- forget that- look at this list of things....how can you find anything fast...

And the places where to buy them is either incorrect or I am wrong but I went to Macs before and they didn't have them and it's says only London Drugs..

So now I live near Burrard Bridge and the way it is now I have to go all the way to Broadway and Yew. Now normally I don't care,  walk all over but if you are in a hurry, if something comes up or if your card is empty, you can't just refill it easily.

THE SYSTEM SUCKS! Who were the designers? Did you pay them enough...???
Obviously many many things were not taken into account and we are going to suffer for it.
It's a shame.

So the yellow ones do not have tickets and you can only get it at that green circle on here- it's blue on the site.

oh and just so you realize many people in this city of $MILLION homes and crap wages can not afford or have access to internet or credit cards and other things like that.

Who is helping those?

This is so set up for the rich.

When it cost $52 a month just so you can send your kid to school...something is really wrong...

Bob Dylan
May 24, 1941 (age 75 years)

Bob Dylan (/ˈdɪlən/; born Robert Allen Zimmerman, May 24, 1941) is an American singer-songwriter, artist and writer.

He has been influential in popular music and culture for more than five decades. Much of his most celebrated work dates from the 1960s when his songs chronicled social unrest, although Dylan repudiated suggestions from journalists that he was a spokesman for his generation.

Nevertheless, early songs such as "Blowin' in the Wind" and "The Times They Are a-Changin'" became anthems for the American civil rights and anti-war movements.

After he left his initial base in the American folk music revival, his six-minute single "Like a Rolling Stone" altered the range of popular music in 1965.

His mid-1960s recordings, backed by rock musicians, reached the top end of the United States music charts while also attracting denunciation and criticism from others in the folk movement.

Ridiculous Rents in Vancouver- Vice Video

Vancouver, BC is a town built on real estate. And for seven years running, it has also been ranked as the least affordable city in North America. While some cities boast lively arts or hip-hop scenes, Vancouver is home to one of the most insane property markets in the world—a place where decades of global capital, lax regulations, and government indifference have transformed it into a city of displaced renters, empty condos, and multimillion-dollar teardowns.

Yet Another UPDATE:

Ohhh, the truth comes out.  Well at least he's owning it.

Another UPDATE:

UPDATE: Wow, there's some weird really negative videos out there, this is the most complete I have seen.

Still it is VERY disturbing, I thought I better update this here.

 Original article

Well I don't like to see people acting like children, especially such well-paid people that are supposed being taking care of child poverty, pipeline/lng decisions and kid's committing suicide...but what was all that weird "mischief" on the floor that Elizabeth pointed out.

Muclair I didn't really like(trust) you before but lost all respect now. It's easy to get elbowed in the "boob" and that's what it was right? (And that does hurt, and it's good she left, because she couldn't very well stand there rubbing it...right? So don't ride her case to much)

An accident, wrong place, wrong time, unless she was all part of that mischief stuff....what the hell was going on. (People blocking people...it's not football, it's the House of Commons. )

Justin did over react but he's apologized. Must have been some pretty heavy shit going on to push his buttons like that.

We know his basic morals so I think most people will have his back and see through what ever game the NDP was playing.

What I want to know is when everyone will grow up and solve some really issues.

#Elbowgate: PM's elbow meets MP's chest & a Twitter trend is born

And part of me is wondering if they created this BIG scandal so mainstream media will ignore the big news today which will be the NEB annoucement.

Melting Glaciers

 From Wikipedia

On Earth, 99% of glacial ice is contained within vast ice sheets in the polar regions, but glaciers may be found in mountain ranges on every continent except Australia, and on a few high-latitude oceanic islands. Between 35°N and 35°S, glaciers occur only in the Himalayas, Andes, Rocky Mountains, a few high mountains in East Africa, Mexico, New Guinea and on Zard Kuh in Iran.[1] Glaciers cover about 10 percent of Earth's land surface.

Glacial ice is the largest reservoir of freshwater on Earth.[3] Many glaciers from temperate, alpine and seasonal polar climates store water as ice during the colder seasons and release it later in the form of meltwater as warmer summer temperatures cause the glacier to melt, creating a water source that is especially important for plants, animals and human uses when other sources may be scant. Within high altitude and Antarctic environments, the seasonal temperature difference is often not sufficient to release meltwater.

Because glacial mass is affected by long-term climactic changes, e.g., precipitation, mean temperature, and cloud cover, glacial mass changes are considered among the most sensitive indicators of climate change and are a major source of variations in sea level.

Why does it matter?

As glaciers and the giant ice sheets on Greenland and Antarctica melt, they add more water into the ocean, which causes sea level to rise.
