✊🌍 "She Asked Us to Share This" — The Detention of Greta Thunberg and the Gaza Freedom Flotilla

By Zipolita | June 9, 2025

“If you see this video, we have been intercepted and kidnapped in international waters by the Israeli occupation forces…”
— Greta Thunberg, June 2025

Greta Thunberg, Sweden’s world-renowned climate and human rights activist, is currently being held by Israeli authorities after a peaceful humanitarian mission to Gaza. Onboard the Madleen — part of the Gaza Freedom Flotilla — Greta and 11 others were intercepted in international waters, forcibly detained, and taken to an Israeli port.

She sent one urgent request:

"Share this as widely as you can..."

This blogpost is our answer.

💥 What We Know

  • Greta and others were kidnapped in international waters, in violation of international maritime law.
  • The Madleen was carrying peaceful activists, doctors, and humanitarians, not weapons.
  • They were reportedly forced to watch violent footage of the October 7 attacks — a tactic critics call psychological coercion.
  • Greta is being deported, and we don’t yet know where or under what conditions.

🇸🇪 We Call on the Swedish Government:

Bring Greta Home.
This is a matter of human rights, diplomacy, and protecting your own citizens.

📣 Raise Your Voice — in Any Language

🇸🇪 Svenska:

“They can detain the boat, but not the movement.”
