El Huracán Erick ha alcanzado la categoría 3 con vientos sostenidos de hasta 195 km/h. Su ojo se encuentra justo frente a la costa del Pacífico mexicano, cerca de Puerto Ángel y Zipolite.

🌧️ ¿Qué está pasando?

• Categoría: Huracán de categoría 3
• Ubicación: A unos 90 km al sur-suroeste de Puerto Ángel
• Movimiento: Noroeste a 15 km/h
• Lluvias: 20 a 40 cm, con máximos de hasta 50 cm
• Oleaje: Marejadas de hasta 6 metros
• Impacto: Inundaciones, derrumbes, cortes de luz y daños en infraestructura

⚠️ Medidas de Prevención en Zipolite y alrededores

1. Evita la playa y el mar. Las olas son extremadamente peligrosas.
2. Refúgiate en un lugar seguro. Si estás en zona de riesgo, busca refugio en un albergue autorizado.
3. Prepárate para cortes de electricidad y agua. Ten a la mano linterna, radio, agua potable, alimentos no perecederos y baterías cargadas.
4. Sigue los avisos oficiales. Escucha la radio local o sigue cuentas oficiales en redes sociales.
5. Evita transitar por carreteras. Ya hay reportes de derrumbes y caminos bloqueados.

🌀 Hurricane Erick – Important Warning for Zipolite & Mexico’s Pacific Coast

UPDATE – June 19, 2025

Hurricane Erick has strengthened to a Category 3 hurricane with sustained winds reaching 120 mph (195 km/h). The eye of the storm is currently just offshore near Puerto Ángel and Zipolite.

🌧️ What’s Happening?

• Category: Major Category 3 Hurricane
• Location: About 55 miles (90 km) SSW of Puerto Ángel
• Movement: NW at ~9 mph (15 km/h)
• Rainfall: 8–16 inches (20–40 cm), with local maxima up to 20 inches (50 cm)
• Waves: Swells up to 20 feet (6 meters)
• Impacts: Flooding, landslides, power outages, and infrastructure damage

⚠️ Safety Advice for Zipolite & Nearby Areas

1. Stay away from the beach and ocean. Dangerous waves and currents are already present.
2. Find safe shelter now. If you’re in a flood or landslide zone, go to an official shelter.
3. Prepare for power and water outages. Have flashlights, water, non-perishable food, and charged batteries.
4. Follow official alerts. Tune in to local radio or official social media channels.
5. Avoid traveling on roads. Landslides and flooding have already begun in some areas.
