Hello Deers! I just wanted to share these two videos of the deer where we are staying. We are really enjoying our new place. I've been busy helping packing chicken and meat and other produce that will be sold at a Farmer's Market. Angel is gathering eggs and we grade and pack those each day. She's been helping in the garden. We've been eating well and I've even had time to start a painting. So we are very happy. Seeing the deer is an incredible treat. I'm glad I can share these videos with you. I will upload the video of Angel milking the cow and gathering eggs shortly. Stay Tuned :)

A woofing we shall go,
A woofing we shall go,
Hi Ho the scenerio
A woofing we shall go!

Well kids this is it! We are almost on our way to our first Woofing Adventure. I'm not going to blog too much, I am saving that for my book and my Youtube Film but I will be sharing some. Anyways, I haven't been blogging very much at all and thought I better let you know what I've been up to.

We moved out of our home. That was a big deal. It was a very hard move. School ended and the teacher and principal had really great things to say about Angel but now we will go back to homeschooling.

Summer appears to be here. FINALLY! It's been one heck of a cold wet spring and start to summer, but it appears we are warming up now. Unfortunately we have smoke from wild fires from Colorado...or so my friend said, anyways we have smog. :( So the rain was good for that.

Well I'm not going to write much more. I still have to do my final pack. Trying to pack for a trip like this is tricky. We need everything we want for summer but I need to think about later on too.

Okay..hi ho, hi ho...it's off to woof we go....;)
Cheers!

Yurts & Woofing

I have to tell you I am so psyched...I spoke with the family we are woofing with today and WOW! it's going to be great. The woman whom I spoke with has ordered a Yurt and is just waiting for it to arrive. PLEASE, may I ask you to take a second, and lets say a collective prayer together to bring the Yurt to it's new home...and we the lucky souls get to be the first to live it it. Isn't that the coolest.

Not only that this lady is an Art Therapist. I am just so happy it's all coming together and how it's coming together is so special and magical and spiritual...

Anyways I want to share with you what I have found on Yurts. It's changed my view of them and opened my mind and I am just so appreciative of people who have traveled and shared their knowledge and developed and adapted their ideas and materials to function in different environments.

Original Description: Full-length profile portrait of Turkman woman, standing on a carpet at the entrance to a yurt, dressed in traditional clothing and jewelry. Sergei Mikhailovich Prokudin-Gorskii, digital rendering for the Library of Congress by Walter Frankhauser / WalterStudio

For a long time now I have been a huge fan of cob houses but these Yurts are super cool also. Check it out!

I love what it says on this site...

Yurts. Don’t Box Yourself In!

Create the space you long for: luxurious, simple or somewhere in between

With its circular design and spacious interior, the yurt encourages both social activity and quiet contemplation. With a few friends, you can set up a yurt up in a day or two. Wire it, heat it and plumb it just like a traditional home. Or go off-the-grid and live sustainably in a yurt. Create big family meals in the kitchen. Add a bathroom or a luxurious spa. Based on the traditional Mongolian yurt, also known as a ger, our high-quality, affordable, durable, Colorado Yurt could be just what you’re looking for!

OMG...isn't this the way it's meant to be...I love this idea...live off the grid.

Well let's pray the Yurt arrives from it's destination soon and we get to experience this life...as we go woofing.

What's woofing.. Check it out. http://www.wwoof.ca/

Stay Tuned...it's going to be interesting. Cheers.

Art Therapy  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Art_therapy
Because of its dual origins in art and psychotherapy, art therapy definitions vary. It can either focus on dealing with the art-making process as therapeutic in and of itself ("art as therapy"), or on the psychotherapeutic transference process between the therapist and the client who makes art. The therapist interprets the client's symbolic self-expression, as communicated in the art, and elicits interpretations from the client. Read More

Been checking into Wwoofing.  Really love this idea and want to go and experience this with my daughter. I think this would be an awesome experience and a great way to experience more of Canada. What the heck is Wwoofing What is Wwoofing?  This link will tell you what it is all about.   This is what they are about though. Here is their mission statement

...living, learning & sharing organic lifestyles
Mission Statement
Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms, Canada (WWOOF Canada™) is part of a world-wide effort to link volunteers with organic farmers and growers, promote an educational & cultural exchange, and build a global community who are passionate about sustainable organic stewardship of food, animals and land while respecting nature and protecting natural resources.

So you can doing Wwoofing in Canada, or the US or Latin America, I saw some on Facebook for Israel and Switerzland so it is International.

I really want to learn more about living off the grid while my child is very interested in animals, especially chicks and cows. I love herbs and herb gardening so I want to pursue this.

So I am cooking up a plan. Not sure how I am going to implement yet but as soon as I do I will let you know. If you have done Wwoofing, I would love to hear about your experience or if you have been the host I would love to hear about that side too.

Oh, there is a contest too! If your a wwoofer or thinking about wwoofing, check this out. http://www.wwoof.ca/VideoContest
