Remember...People Died and are Dying For Your Rights...

Updated!
I think we've grown up thinking we had all these rights and forgetting how many people died for them. Especially today for example it's Remembrance Day in Canada.

I'm not talking just wars, I am talking the Civil Rights Movements in the 60's and the Women's Rights and many many people who have stood up for injustices and I just know that in my 30's when I got out of college...as a mature student...I worked 11 years...got hurt, got screwed over by WCB, then went to school, huge debt, screwed again and I was like "what" I thought I had all these rights? and then to have a child and living through a system that is meant to keep people weak and insecure...but not knowing that and thinking it was me...we just grew up believing in a dream and taking it for granted..we were taught that and we teach our kids...so when the reality bites us in the ass, we are like wtf. It confuses people.

That's why things like Standing Rock are so important, people are waking up...but Standing up and Standing Together is scary, isn't convenient or fun, and we really are at a crossroads in time...maybe we've been here a lot in the past..like in Europe, Egypt, Rome...Ancient times..we've just forgotten..or it was all erased, burned..like the Mayan codecs in Mexico.

With everything that has just happened and is happening in the US, it's important to realize what is happening worldwide.

The knowledge has been revealed- the Apocalypse occurred or as the actual word means "disclosure of knowledge" has occurred. -An apocalypse (Ancient Greek: ἀποκάλυψις apokálypsis, from ἀπό and καλύπτω meaning "uncovering"), translated literally from Greek, is 'through the concealed', meaning a disclosure of knowledge, i.e., a lifting of the veil or revelation. In religious contexts it is usually a disclosure of something hidden, “a vision of heavenly secrets that can make sense of earthly realities"

And the whole war thing is difficult, no one wants to support war, I sure don't want to endorse war but I do want to support and send love to people who died trying to bring justice and rights to people when they were being and are being oppressed.

That's what Remembrance day is for me. That's what I want to Remember.

Here's a couple of my posts from previous years.

So in light of what is happening in the US we must watch for signs and be forgiving. Raging against your neighbour will never bring peace. http://katu.com/news/local/protests-set-to-continue-thursday-meeting-point-set-downtown

But taking on the system might http://www.oregonlive.com/politics/index.ssf/2016/11/after_trump_victory_oregonians.html

And forgiveness is huge. We must remember to forgive, but not forget.

And watch for signs, we have many signs but people discount them and we suffer for that

And Teach your children love, kindness, respect. Teach them we are all equal, that no one is more important than another. Teach them to have a voice and to unite and protect each other against the injustices of the world. It's the only way we will have peace.

I had to come in and update this. With the news of the BCTF win in the Supreme court I ask that we remember the Residential School Survivors for their strength and resilience to survive a war that was waged on children for the entire history of Canada. Please keep them in your hearts and prayers today.  For the First Nations who fought in the war but upon their return had to give up their status.

And for everyone who has stood up and fought against the Social Injustices of the world, let's remember them especially The Survivor's Totem Pole - Pigeon Park- DTES A Survivor's Totem Pole raised by communities struggling for justice and dignity in the Downtown Eastside since colonization, it honours First Nations, LGBTQ, Japanese, Chinese and South Asian survivors of racism and injustice. On Nov 5 2016, a historic moment in time occurred. Here are some of the interviews and photos and videos I created to document this, so that it can live on and never be forgotten.  https://mylangaratrccarvingjourney.blogspot.ca/2016/11/the-survivors-totem-pole-pigeon-park.html

And for all the Teachers with kind hearts and souls, who truly care about children, let us remember all the hard work they have done and the sacrifices they have made.

Heart wrenching video from #FortMacFire

"She was loving, always hugging or cuddling, and she loved to be the centre of attention," Chelsi said. "She has a beautiful singing voice and she was a wonderfully creative person."
Chelsi described her sister as an old soul.

"She was always well beyond her years in maturity," she said. "We're sure she's not very happy either about being 15 forever."

'Tragedy, layered on tragedy': Girl, 15, killed in Fort McMurray evacuation

The Ryan family would gladly let the fire take their Fort McMurray home, if it meant getting back what the fire already took — Emily.

"Ultimately, it's still a shock, the grief comes in waves," said Chelsi, Emily Ryan's sister. "It's tragedy, layered on tragedy."

May she be snuggled in the clouds with a good book, watching down, always near.  I am so sorry for your loss and please accept my deepest condolences.

RIP Emily and Aaron

I hope this is taken in good taste, and please know it's meant with love. Since Emily adored books I thought she'd like this. Sending love and light and hugs. Stay strong Chelsi!! Stay strong everyone.
Everyone in Canada and many people around the world are saying prayers and sending love your way.

Why Wear a Poppy- Remembrance Day 11:11

We often think of all the ones who went to war but all those who remained at home suffered greatly too.  Let's remember them all and send them love and light.

Let us remember, so it NEVER happens again.

 Why Wear a Poppy

"Please wear a poppy," the lady said,
And held one forth, but I shook my head.
Then I stopped and watched as she offered them there,
And her face was old and lined with care;

But beneath the scars the years had made
There remained a smile that refused to fade.
A boy came whistling down the street,
...Bouncing along on care-free feet.

His smile was full of joy and fun,
"Lady," said he, "may I have one?"
When she'd pinned it on, he turned to say;
"Why do we wear a poppy today?"

The lady smiled in her wistful way
And answered; "This is Remembrance Day.
And the poppy there is a symbol for
The gallant men who died in war.

And because they did, you and I are free -
That's why we wear a poppy, you see.
I had a boy about your size,
With golden hair and big blue eyes.

He loved to play and jump and shout,
Free as a bird, he would race about.
As the years went by, he learned and grew,
And became a man - as you will, too.

He was fine and strong, with a boyish smile,
But he'd seemed with us such a little while
When war broke out and he went away.
I still remember his face that day.

When he smiled at me and said, 'Goodbye,
I'll be back soon, Mum, please don't cry.'
But the war went on and he had to stay,
And all I could do was wait and pray.

His letters told of the awful fight
(I can see it still in my dreams at night),
With the tanks and guns and cruel barbed wire,
And the mines and bullets, the bombs and fire.

Till at last, at last, the war was won -
And that's why we wear a poppy, son."
The small boy turned as if to go,
Then said, "Thanks, lady, I'm glad to know.
That sure did sound like an awful fight
But your son - did he come back all right?"
A tear rolled down each faded cheek;
She shook her head, but didn't speak
I slunk away in a sort of shame,
And if you were me, you'd have done the same:

For our thanks, in giving, if oft delayed,
Though our freedom was bought - and thousands paid!
And so, when we see a poppy worn,
Let us reflect on the burden borne
By those who gave their very all
When asked to answer their country's call
That we at home in peace might live.
Then wear a poppy! Remember - and Give!
