UN Arrives in Nochixtlán, Oaxaca

Un grupo de relatores del Alto Comisionado de la ONU para los Derechos Humanos en México, llegó a Nochixtlán, Oaxaca, la mañana de este martes, para recolectar testimonios de las víctimas por supuestos abusos cometidos por la Policía Federal en este municipio de la Mixteca, durante el enfrentamiento que protagonizaron el pasado domingo cuando trataban de liberar el bloqueo de la carretera federal 190.

en su visita, los relatores buscan recolectar testimonios de las víctimas, de las familias de las víctimas, así como recopilar documentación en fotografía y videos para robustecer su investigación con la que buscan establecer cuáles fueron las violaciones a los derechos humanos cometidas por la policía federal durante el operativo, según informó una de las integrantes de esta comisión especial enviada a Nochixtlán.

Además, que las oficinas del Alto Comisionado de la ONU para los Derechos Humanos en México intentan establecer si fue la policía federal la que disparó primero durante la refriega, por lo que recorren los sitios donde fotografiaron a los uniformados mientras disparaban, de acuerdo a lo que se percibe en las fotos subidas a la cuenta oficial de esta oficina de la Naciones Unidas.

Además, en su página de internet publicaron un documento en el que llaman a las autoridades mexicanas para que realicen una investigación exhaustiva de los hechos violentos ocurridos en Oaxaca y a privilegiar el diálogo.

There are horrible injustices happening in Oaxaca right now. Originally I saw lots of images of Chiapas but now it's happening in Oaxaca.

Clashes took place in several municipalities in Oaxaca, but the most violent were in Nochixtlan, north of the state capital also called Oaxaca.

In a landmark ruling released in January 2016, the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal found the Canadian government was racially discriminating against 163,000 First Nations children living on reserve.

Jordan's Principle was established in response to the death of five-year-old Jordan River Anderson, a child from Norway House First Nation who suffered from Carey Fineman Ziter Syndrome, a rare muscular disorder that required years of medical treatment in a Winnipeg hospital. After spending the first two years of his life in a hospital, doctors felt he could return home. However, the federal and provincial government could not resolve who was financially responsible for the necessary home care in order for Jordan to return to his family in his home community 800 kilometers north of Winnipeg. After spending over two years in hospital unnecessarily while governments argued over who should pay for his at-home care, Jordan died in a hospital in 2005.

Jordan's Principle is a child first principle used in Canada to resolve jurisdictional disputes within, and between governments, regarding payment for government services provided to First Nations children. Under this principle, where a jurisdictional dispute arises between two government parties (provincial/territorial or federal) or between two departments or ministries of the same government, regarding payment for services for a Status Indian child which are otherwise available to other Canadian children, the government or ministry/department of first contact must pay for the services without delay or disruption. The paying government party can then refer the matter to jurisdictional dispute mechanisms.

The convention was influential in the following administrative Law decision of Baker v Canada (Minister of Citizenship and Immigration).

Bernie is the man to make the changes need. I hope the American public can over-power the corruption. They are in for a real battle, a revolution, a movement to take back their democracy.

There's been talk about Bernie going Green. I think that's fabulous. I am Green in Canada. Green's have great policies....here, I have to check out the US one but alot of people like this Jill Stein.





I have also heard talk about Tulsi, I believe she is from Hawaii and has some great values so at this point I don't really know what is happening in the US but it's a very interesting time in history and I hope everyone is paying attention.

Thing is there are a lot of distractions and that's where people must be diligent. If mainstream media and media in general are all focused on something...some event...what is going on that you are not seeing.

Like that famous line about the magician... when the magician says the trick is happening here...it's really happening somewhere else. SO BE AWARE!!
