A Bee School for Kids? Yes!
Did
you know that a single bee hive can produce up to 100 pounds (45 kg.)
of honey, or that bees are responsible for pollinating up to 1/3 of our
food?
Beekeeper Markus Storhas & Nutritionist Tricia Sedgwick
have developed a bee school to help kids be leaders in their community.
This 4-part workshop series is hosted at The World In A Garden and
incorporates fun hands-on activities like looking inside beehives,
tasting and extracting honey and selling the honey on Market Day!

This is one of the first videos I ever made- back in 2007, look how little Angel was. We were living in Nelson and it was so HOT!! Too hot for us to walk to the lake and back and so I bought a little pool. But the bees were accidentally landing in it. (now I know about making bee drinking dishes)
Anyways she started rescuing them. At the time I was really scared and was like "NO, don't touch, it will sting you." But then she just did it, and I was amazed. I've learned so much from her curiousity of life.
So I ran and got the camera and made this video. It's sad because I stopped the video just before she told it she loved it and then if flew away. I wish I got that part but it's still beautiful.
After that she rescued many bees and taught others about bees. She does not like wasps though. She got stung/bit on the top of her head that hurt for the longest time and so she is very cautious around them.
But she LOVES BEES!! We all need to love and care for our beautiful bees!! We need to care for all our pollinators. :D
P.s. For a long time she was going to be a bee doctor, ...until she realized they were too little to work on. :) So sweet!
I wish we lived closer to this, we would definitely check it out!!
We need to find a dog lover traveling from Mexico City to Germany next week between July 13-19 2015. They need to be able to check-in in Mexico and check out in Munich with a dog that has been adopted to Austria. The dog was rescued in Chiapas and the new owner rescues y interns with a veterinarian, and they will be able to give all the treatment, she had to go back to her country but now the dog is well she want to take hm home. The dog has all the papers in order and is clean, vaccinated and can travel.

Roske-Martinez is Youth Director of a non-profit organization called Earth Guardians"
I have been following this young man and he is a brave, eloquently spoken, highly intelligent young person with a great deep awareness of the world need right now.
We need action from EVERYONE and his speech clearly demonstrates this.
These other videos are very eye opening as well. He is a great leader of youth already and I believe he will rise to great power because of his wisdom and deep respect for the earth. He has been on his path since he was 6. Maybe he will be the president one day, if presidents exist.
Who know what will happen in the near future if things do not turn around. As the earth breaks down we could see many changes good and bad.
I know in my heart it will happen. I had a vision many years ago and I have to have faith it will happen. Will it happen in my lifetime is the question I have? Who is that old lady in my vision, is it me? my child? her child? What does the future hold...only the future knows. But I do know we can't just sit around wait for someone else to do it, we each have to do our part! WHAT IS YOUR PART?
Can we change the World? Where do we
start? What can we accomplish? What is Urbanarium? And what does it have
to do with Vancouver? These are some of the questions proposed here and
a small collection of data to support it? Where it goes....we will find

We were very blessed in July 1967- I was only 5 years old and today for the first time in my history I heard the POWERFUL, PROFOUND, ENLIGHTENING words of Chief Dan George.
Such a empowering speech he made, it makes me sad that I NEVER heard it until now.
A WARNING!! If people understood it correctly, that the "white people" had done terrible crimes against the First Nation, and there would be consequences. The consequences are we live in a very sick environment and it's getting worse because we have NO RESPECT for each other or most of all MOTHER EARTH.
A LESSON- please share this speech WIDELY and take heed.
A GIFT- CHIEF DAN GEORGE gifted everyone that heard that speech with an opportunity to change and perhaps many who did, tried. Sadly it has been a very long time since that speech and much of what he said was not passed on and shared.
An OPPORTUNITY- Let us take that opportunity and share this speech widely and wake up the people, those that sleep and let them know change is coming, whether it will be good or bad is up to them. We have to make changes if we are to survive on MOTHER EARTH.
As he says in the speech - take advantage of the education available and learn all the skills you need to rebuild this world into a beautiful healthy place where the salmon are healthy, the people are free and it is a Canada to be proud of .

Lament for Confederation How
long have I known you, Oh Canada? A hundred years? Yes, a hundred
years. And many, many seelanum more. And today, when you celebrate your
hundred years, Oh Canada, I am sad for all the Indian people throughout
the land. For I have known you when your forests were mine; when
they gave me my meat and my clothing. I have known you in your streams
and rivers where your fish flashed and danced in the sun, where the
waters said ‘come, come and eat of my abundance.’ I have known you in
the freedom of the winds. And my spirit, like the winds, once roamed
your good lands. But in the long hundred years since the white man
came, I have seen my freedom disappear like the salmon going
mysteriously out to sea. The white man’s strange customs, which I could
not understand, pressed down upon me until I could no longer breathe. When
I fought to protect my land and my home, I was called a savage. When I
neither understood nor welcomed his way of life, I was called lazy. When
I tried to rule my people, I was stripped of my authority. My
nation was ignored in your history textbooks - they were little more
important in the history of Canada than the buffalo that ranged the
plains. I was ridiculed in your plays and motion pictures, and when I
drank your fire-water, I got drunk - very, very drunk. And I forgot. Oh
Canada, how can I celebrate with you this Centenary, this hundred
years? Shall I thank you for the reserves that are left to me of my
beautiful forests? For the canned fish of my rivers? For the loss of my
pride and authority, even among my own people? For the lack of my will
to fight back? No! I must forget what’s past and gone. Oh God in
heaven! Give me back the courage of the olden chiefs. Let me wrestle
with my surroundings. Let me again, as in the days of old, dominate my
environment. Let me humbly accept this new culture and through it rise
up and go on. Oh God! Like the thunderbird of old I shall rise
again out of the sea; I shall grab the instruments of the white man’s
success-his education, his skills- and with these new tools I shall
build my race into the proudest segment of your society. Before I
follow the great chiefs who have gone before us, Oh Canada, I shall see
these things come to pass. I shall see our young braves and our chiefs
sitting in the houses of law and government, ruling and being ruled by
the knowledge and freedoms of our great land. So shall we shatter

greatest in the proud history of our tribes and nations.
On Canada’s 100th birthday, Chief Dan George silenced a crowd of 32,000 with his 'Lament for Confederation' at Empire Stadium.

Personally I found the ending extremely offensive but that in itself portrays the ignorance of the times. But maybe I missed something, I have to watch the whole movie.
Hey we had the GREATEST day at GREEK DAYS ON BROADWAY!!
So much fun, the highlight was Medusa!!
What made it so special was Angel was shy and did not want to butt into line and I was telling her to get in there but all these people kept going and Angel was backing up...Medusa was fabulous though.
With out speaking she used her arms and body language to make the people stop and wait and waved for Angel to come and we got a great photo. THANK YOU!!
You made my day!! This was really special because it made me remember the great times we had in Mexico on Dia del Los Muertos when people in the Zocalo dress as statues and you can have you photo taken with them. So MUCH FUN!! And it really captures the moment and memories.
Here is a video of the day! It started out so hot but then became overcast which was fine because it meant we could stay longer, otherwise it was too much with all the people and heat.
Great Day!! Thanks to Everyone for all there hard work. It was fantastic. Now I just want to chill out and watch My Big Fat Greek Wedding!! :D

Wow, been years since I have seen this movie, I am going to watch it tonight!! This is so sad here...but I love it! Having been raised being told I was a French Canadian Indian, I said to my mom one day, when I was trying to understand my heritage because I wanted to explain it to my child.
I said "Mom, who's the French, who's the Canadian, and who's the Indian?" she laughed. No, no, no, my dear, they are all one. She was speaking about my Metis heritage. But it had something to do with the census or something and they weren't allowed to write...something and that's how it was written down. That's what I remember. My mom has passed and I don't have too much info.
But I do know my Great Great Grandma was Songhee and then I believe it was my Great Grandpa that was Metis or it was my Grandma- it's confusing as the archives are hard to figure out and my aunt said it was the Grandpa but I think the archives show it was my grandma...anyways it's in there.
So what will it be like for my daughter to grow up with First Nations heritage in 2015.
Well one thing is, she was honored in a lovely ceremony for Graduating Grade 7. It was called a Moving On Ceremony and it was very thoughtful and meaningful and I felt very blessed we went to it.
I have taken Angel to the Pipeline Rally and The Coast is Toast so she has a good understanding of how everything is playing out in this world. We followed Burnaby Mountain closely, she's heard of the Highway of Tears and about the trauma caused by the horrific crimes against children in the Residential schools.
What part my child will play in it all this only the future knows.
What I do know is she loves nature and cares deeply about it and people. I just pray that we get it together and change things so that she can grow up in a healthier place with no GMO, no more Global Warming, a greener world..that she will be one of The Changerz http://thechangerz.blogspot.ca/
That's what I hope for her. And not one where you need to prove your First Nations or Aboriginal which one person at the Moving on Ceremony said is a misnomer because was are ALL Indigenous!!
