Opus Painting Challenge May 10 - Prizes

Hey, get your family and friends together this Mother's Day on May 10 and paint, create, enjoy!!

This special event welcomes all ages and levels of skill, and encourages participants to try something new, whether that be working outdoors for the first time, or simply within the limitations of the challenge rules.

Each location has a designated "painting zone" with a variety of subject matter to choose from. Try a cityscape, a waterfront view, the flora and fauna around you, or even the picture in your mind that the day inspires.

Work in acrylics or oils, watercolour or pencil, collage or assemblage, or all of the above! All mediums and points of view are welcome.

This year’s jury will be awarding $6000 in Opus Gift Cards ($1000 at each store) to participants, categorized by age range: Adult (19+), Youth (13-18 y.o.), and Kids (up to age 12).



Can't make it to an Opus on May 10? We encourage you to take it outside and create wherever you are! Gather a group of friends, a family member, or just capture the beauty of the outdoors in solitude. Post pictures of your day on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook with the hashtag #OPC2015 (be sure your privacy settings are set to public for these images so we can see them)!

Well I'm at it again. There's another travel video contest and I thought well I'll give it a shot. The chances of winning one of these aren't to good, but I have to be positive and hope that I have a chance. If I don't give it a shot I'll never know and each time I do one of these I get a little better so let's see what happens. Can you please vote for me. The one (1) winner will be chosen by 3 stages:

Stage One, Shortlist - After the Entry Period closes there will be ten (10) shortlist Entrants who will be notified via email. The ten (10) will shortlist Entrants will be selected by:

• Five (5) will come from the most popular entries, as determined by those that have received the most public support by way of the total number of Social Media shares/likes.
• Five (5) will come from entries chosen by the Organizer and the Guest Judge.

Stage Two, Finalists - The shortlisted ten (10) will brought to the UK for Saturday 18th May 2013 to Friday 24th May 2013, with arrangements made and paid for by the Organizer, for a week of challenges and experiences designed to represent a visit to a destination on the winners journey. During this week an interview process will also take place.

Stage Three, Winner - The winner will be announced at a closing ceremony in London, UK on the 24th May 2013.

The decision of the judging panel will be final.

Update: Nov 5/2012 We are still doing well 290 views but it would be nice to get more. We've got 10 days left. Please if you or your friends haven't seen our video and are into "green" "gardens" "organics" or are interested in working on a farm in exchange for food and shelter or have a farm and need workers then you need to see our video for the  WWOOF is Video Contest!! 

The contest ends on November 15th. It's a $1000 and it would sure help Angel and I to have a very nice Christmas here in Mexico.  We are currently living on a really tight budget, this would seriously help alot Santa alot ;) not to mention just help with groceries and buy a nice Christmas dinner and maybe take Angel on a special trip in Mexico. So YVR is having a REALLY COOL CONTEST, but I can not enter, because I can't take my child. Bummer. BIG TIME. I would have ROCKED IT.

But I do want mention one thing...this contest is worth $55,650 which spread out over 80 days is $695.25 a Day!!! That's right, a day! That's what it works out to.

So that's pretty friggin' AMAZING.

So they get it. They get the value of paying someone to do Social Media for them in the form of VIDEOS, and Facebook and Tweet them everyday.

Kudos, Big Time!! That is just awesome!

So I just have to write a bit more about the Airport and the Live at the YVR Contest  

The airport is so emotional for me, I always cry. Not sobbing crying, but that incredible emotional moment where tears well up and you feel like you'll burst if a few don't spill out. It's an emotional overload.

It's the place you say good-bye or hello again :). Everytime I leave to go on a big trip, I'm so full of emotion and excitement it happens. And everytime I come home...it happens. As we stand around the luggage carousel, you get that ahhhh, Wow! I'm home. I guess because we've been on some pretty big journeys and those are just natural emotions you can not suppress, even if you wanted to.

I mean who wants to start crying when there are tons of people standing around, but you can't help it.
So what an exciting contest. I think it would be a totally awesome experience. 

Well just wanted to add this little bit. Have a great day everyone!! And Bon Voyage & Welcome Home to everyone at the YVR today!!

Rebuilding My Blogs in Websites

So something Super Cool Happened last night about this time. A musician I know needed a website, but cash is tight and so I told him I would build him a blog instead. 

He liked it, at first, but then said he needed something clean and easy for clients to find his info, as he has a lot of experience, plays with alot of different bands and has different bios, etc.

I told him what he was describing was a website and if that's what he wanted he'd have to pay the webhosting fees,(we're bartering a blog in exchange for drum lessons for my daughter) but I told him I could try to build him something with the pages feature on Blogger.

Well a Miracle happened. A real Break Through, for me anyways, because I don't know if anyone else is doing it. I haven't heard of it if they are. Anyways, here is my new website for Tina'z Social Media Workshop http://tinazsocialmediaworkshop.blogspot.com  I think it's really great! I am really happy with the results.

Anyways I created the website/blog for the musician and another for client who was having a hard time getting the right personel at his school to give him the info he need to upload his site to the server.

We've been waiting months to upload it, so tonight I just turned the blog I originally created as part of his website, into his website and now he's online.

I'll show you both these sites in bit after the clients have had a chance to look at them and they are totally fine tuned. 

I still have lots of info to add to Tina'z Social Media Workshop, but I added a Job board today and I'll get it all done soon but wanted to take care of my clients first.

So just wanted to warn you there are some major facelifts coming to my blogs so Stay Tuned!! And be patience if they happen to act weird as I may be working on it as your viewing it. So your patience is REALLY APPRECIATED.

** Just a little note, isn't amazing this happened after two things, I watched the video Forgiveness is a Gift Video ( a couple of times)  (and really tried to put into practice what it said)  and I posted the Pay It Forward -Video.  I really feel like I was blessed with this knowledge in response to the positive energy that is flowing right now with all the sharing of wonderful videos and info from Four Years. Go and so many other amazing videos I am seeing and sharing. I really feel so truly blessed right now. Thank you Universe, God and all the positive energies and everyone for sharing you positive energy with me. I truly do appreciate it!

1. CONTEST OVERVIEW:

1.1 Each entry to the Contest must consist of a video containing your child’s or legal ward’s (“the Child”) idea for a science experiment to be conducted by British Columbia scientists (the “Entry”). The Entry must not (a) contain more than one Child and (b) be longer than 90 seconds in length.

1.2 The Contest consists of the following two phases:
(a) The first phase begins at 1:00 p.m. PST, November 1, 2010 and closes at 11:59 p.m. PST April
15, 2011 (the “Submission Period”). During the Submission Period, individuals may submit one
or more online Entries. Each individual for which at least one Entry has been submitted during
the Submission Period will be eligible to win prizes, as further described below.

(b) The second phase begins at 6:00 p.m. PST, November 15, 2010 and closes at 11:59 p.m. PST
May 31, 2011 (the “Panel Judging Period”). During the Panel Judging Period, a panel made up
of three members of British Columbia’s science community (the “Judging Panel”) will view the
Entries submitted during the Submission Period and will choose:

i. one winner each month for the months of November 2010 to May 2011 inclusive,
excluding December 2010 (the “Monthly Prize Winners”); and
from the Monthly Prize Winners, one grand prize winner (the “Grand Prize
Winner”) on or before June 30, 2011.

ii. Only those Entries received during the Submission Period will be considered by the Judging Panel. The Monthly Prize Winners and Grand Prize Winners will be awarded prizes as further described in sections 6 below. The Submission Period and the Panel Judging Period are collectively referred to as the “Contest Period”.
