Red line
= A minimal necessity for a just and livable planet. More specifically:
Sustainable energy transformation / Justice for impacted people /
The
right to food and water.
In order
to avoid dangerous climate change we know we must keep at least 80% of
known fossil fuel reserves in the ground. We must completely decarbonise
our economy before 2050. Keeping these fuels in the ground is our
movement’s red line. A minimal necessity for a just and livable planet.
We know
that even if a Paris agreement sends a clear signal that the world is
turning away from fossil fuels, we need to show that people are ready to
take matters into their own hands. In fact we already are with
campaigns like the successful struggle against the Keystone XL pipeline.
We are showing our commitment to taking bold action to turn off the
fossil fuel industry.
