The Musgamagw Dzawada’enuxw boarded a salmon farm in their territory for the second time in three days to begin the process of cleansing their waters of the fish farm industry. This is done in the name of our children, future generations and in memory of our ancestors.
Today, boats from the communities of Gwayasdums (Gilford Village), U’kwa’nalis (Kingcome Village) and Alert Bay converged on Cermaq's Sir Edmond farm in the unceded territories of the Musgamagw Dzawada’enuxw.
We, the Musgamagw Dzawada’enuxw view the destruction of wild fish by
the fish farming industry as part of the long history of genocide forced
on our people by the governments of Canada. Salmon are essential to
our well-being and the well-being of our world.
