Holiday Photos 2015

Well it's that time of year. The hustle, bustle and sound of Christmas is in the air.
I was a little blue earlier. It's going to be great, I am sure, but things were different last year and I think many people feel the same. Things are very very tight financially this year.

As I walked past all the lovely stores and totally out of reach items I was thinking how weird...it's almost like Victorian times, with all the rich fancy clothes and supposedly fancy people and then the rest. The 1% and the rest, Right!

But I thought I can not fix it(at this moment), so I bought myself and family a chocolate and said maybe I can not spend $300 on an outfit (a months groceries) but I can treat myself to $3 worth of chocolate at Purdy's. And so that is what I did.

Here are some photos of the adventures I have had the last few days ( I really covered a lot of ground) and I didn't even take photos for some of it. I selected the best, hope you like them.

Hey!! This Blog Tina Winterlik has been nominated for the Ninjamatics 2011 Canadian Weblog Awards in the Best New Weblog, Ecology & Social Justice, and Life categories.

The 2011 Canadian Weblog Awards are a juried competition with nominations open in 37 categories between January 1st and October 31st, 2011.

The nominees shortlist will be announced on December 1st, 2011, and the winners will be announced on January 1, 2012.

I'm so excited!! This is so cool as just the other day I was thinking maybe I should put this puppy to bed. I mean I don't get paid for blogging, I don't even have ads or a donate button. I have tested both but for the ads, well I didn't care for the products and well the donate no one did, so just left my blog pure.

I do love to share though and that's what drives me to blog.

It's lovely to acknowledged and to win this would be really fabulous. Congrats to all the nominees! P.S. Adventurez in Mexico is nominated too!

We got our photo with Wayne Cox at the PNE, I won the fake mic & I gave it to Angel, we had so much fun with it, pretending we were announcers, and interviewing each other. I told Angel to pretend to interview Wayne for the photo. Thanks Wayne, it was nice meeting you!

Wow! This brought tears to my eyes. We were going to go downtown yesterday to sign the wall but I just thought it might be too much for my little girl, so we went for a walk instead. I do want to go down soon and see it. What a fabulous art work of LOVE! Well done Vancouverites! Well done!

Today, in reaction to the disgusting scene last night in Vancouver, the real Vancouver has taken to the streets. Cleaning up the mess, giving out hugs, and, powerfully, filling every boarded up broken window downtown with words upon words upon words.

People, this is my Vancouver.

Langara Photo Imaging Grad Show

Wow have things changed. It so Cool that the Langara Grads can get their Info out there with Social Media. When I graduated in 1995, well let's not even go there...it just sucked shall we say.

This is so cool. They were able to raise money with a video, and they can tell everyone about it with Facebook and a Website.

Social Media is so awesome as it levels the playing field and each of these students can have blogs and websites show there work off to the world and not have to wait until some curator "might" like their work and give them an opportunity.

They don't have to spend a fortune on framing and slides and all those silly super expensive things we had to back them before we could even show our work to someone.

Yes, these Grads have a huge advantage in getting a name for themselves than compared back in 1995 and Social Media and the Digital Era is responsible for that.

That said the competition is still fierce, but I know we will see some great success stories here. Best of Luck Grads You lucky you have Tomo, he's really done awesome work with all of you. Cheers, Hope to see you at your Grad Show
