We had a good New Year dinner. No one called.
My hight is five feet
my weight is 1021bs
Father ways 140lbs
Mr. McDougall ways 155lbs

Cloudy and the appearance of snow. Making firewood.
6 pm Light snow
January 3
Cloudy all day
11am I took a letter for Mr. Kenny and a paper addressed to Rev. Father Lemmons. J R Wiles to
January 3 — continued
to be taken to Nanaimo P.O.
Mr. Wale [?] and I returned about 4 o'clock. R. Wiles remained with us all night.
January 4
Weather very mild
10 am I went to the head of the bay and brought Maggie the cow home.
2 pm Took Mr. Wiles across in the boat
Pm. the appearance of snow
January 5
January Raining. At home
patching Mr. Dougall cut my hair.
January 6
Father and I went out hunting
Father brought the oxen home
I brought the colts home
January 6 — continued
Johny Hoist got Father to help drive the cattle to Nanaimo
January 7
January 8
Rain all Day. At home
January 9
Mild and light rain. Father went to Englishman River to drive the cattle
Father returned about 4 o'clock
the river being too high to cross
Cleaning the chicken house and cutting fire wood
January 10
Fine Clear Day (FCD) Brought home the oxen and haul logs
January 11
FCD. 10 o'clock Johny Hoist came with 2 horses and Father went to E. M. River to help drive cattle to Nanaimo
