Great for: Classrooms, art projects, protests, healing circles, family discussions.

conversation," Trudeau said. "I think it's critically important that
politicians take the time to listen. I don't want to pretend that any of
us have the answers to the challenges facing Indigenous peoples in
Canada. But what I will tell you is that as a country, we can build
those answers."
Edmund Bellegarde, tribal chairman and president at File Hills Qu'Appelle Tribal Council, said actions speak louder than words.
"The very action of the prime minister coming here meeting with our
leaders and our elders. He didn't talk. He listened. "This is action.
This is a respect. This is history in the making."

Tony Turner, a scientist in habitat planning at Environment Canada, was
recently sent home on leave with pay while the government investigates
the making of Harperman, a music video posted on YouTube in early June that has attracted about 48,000 hits.
Note to Tony: Sending you love and light that someone is going to offer you your dream job. Thanks for this great song. We really need something like this to help unite us all and get our messages out loud and clear and in an artist positive protest. WELL DONE TONY and everyone in the singalong.

Harperman
is a protest song against the Conservative government of Canadian Prime
Minister Stephen Harper. We are organizing a cross-Canada singalong of
Harperman on September 17, just a month before the expected date of the
Canadian federal election. Please contribute, if you can, to helping
organize the singalong. We have a funding campaign on Indiegogo at http://igg.me/at/harperman
But he has also been a
stalwart of the local folk music scene since 1994 when he joined
Writers’ Bloc, Ottawa’s songwriters collective. He has several CDs,
plays regularly across the province and is best known for the song
Circle of Song, which will be included in a new anthology of Canadian
folk songs. His biography makes no mention of being a public servant.

cross-Canada event taking place on Thursday, September 17th will include
a “Harperman” sing-along on Parliament Hill at 2:00 pm Eastern. There
will be public “Harperman” sing-alongs in every province on that day,
and there will be opportunities for people to participate online from
anywhere in Canada
