You've heard of Burning Man- Well Here's Canada's Melting Man!
Since the late 80's, thousands of liberal minded individuals have
gathered in the Nevada desert for a festival known as Burning Man and if
Saskatchewan farmer Tom Vernon has his way, those same free spirits
will be flocking north this December to attend his festival "Melting
Man."
"If they're willing to spend a week
in the hell hole that is the Nevada desert, surely enough they'll do
Saskatchewan in the middle of winter."

and Owner, Michelle Lynn Johnson works with a FAIR TRADE manufacturing
facility in Nepal to produce her designs and ideas.
Inspiration for this
ever-evolving project has grown from music festivals, travelling and
the notion of sustainable consumer culture. Now more then ever,
consumers can use their buying power to support what they believe in.
Fairies Pjs designs help skilled Nepalese workers support their
families, increase their living standards, and work in an environment
with enforced health and safety standards.

We went to Folk Fest on Friday night and well we had to go back today because Angel saw a jacket she just had to have. One minute I had this perfectly happy cherub, next minute she was miserable.
All it took was to see the most beautiful jacket the fits absolutely perfect and then to be told, no sorry we can't get it right now. But it all worked out. Thanks so much to Fairies Pyjamas, we had a lot of fun visiting again today to pick up the jacket and make this video of all the fun. Thanks again!!

An amigo that we met in Mexico, Jamaica Jerry was on Facebook and I saw he was heading to Burning Man. One day we will go to Burning Man! It sound so fun, and crazy but you really have to know what your doing and be prepared and have the tix, which are expensive $200 and sell out quickly!! (This year they sold out before the event! )
I've been hearing about it for a long time now, 4 or 5 years(it's actually been happening 25 years) and I must admit I am very curious. I've seen some incredible photography. I saw an awesome set of photos a while back but can't find the link.

The event starts on the Monday before, and ends on the day of, the American Labor Day holiday (August 29 to September 5, 2011). It takes its name from the ritual burning of a large wooden effigy on Saturday evening. The event is described by many participants as an experiment in community, radical self-expression, and radical self-reliance.[1][2][3][4]
Burning Man is organized by Black Rock City, LLC. In 2010, 51,515 people attended Burning Man.[5] 2011 attendance was capped at 50,000 participants and the event sold out [6] on July 24th.
