Can we get this story to go viral?
I can relate to this so well. We moved 9 times since I had Angel...the rents just got higher...until I just couldn't do it. I could never really do it ...not while she was little and then when she was older...it wasn't any easier.
There was supposed to be a subsidy and I thought I could do that but they had a rule you had to have been in the county the last year...and we had been in Mexico for 5 months. (Because I packed up everything and put it in storage when the decided to jackhammer off the outside of the building...)
Anyways, read this story. Walk in this woman's shoes.

There is enough for all but some are greedy. Some of the most greedy are the politicians and CEO's. CC she had ALL the power and the time to turn things around but she didn't. She just put her kid in private school and jetted all over...she reminds me very much of the Red Queen in Alice in Wonderland. I bet you right now if she would read this she'd be yelling...

So this was made a little while ago, around Mother's day. I was busy cleaning the house and was using the steamer. Angel was playing on the computer, and I had been showing her how to use the mic and headphones. She showed me what she had been working on and it totally brightened my day. Must be doing something right! Check it out!

Reading the comments on Facebook, some moms thought that the NDP Statement on #momthevote, " was nice they recognized us but found it condescending." (I agree!)
We already take parenting issues very seriously, the reason for #momthevote to get everyone talking so we can chose the best candidate. You can thank Karen Green for that. ;) Thanks Karen!!
It's cool that they recognize the POWER OF SOCIAL MEDIA!! And that by Uniting in this way we have SERIOUS SOCIAL MEDIA SUPER HERO POWERS!!
There are some other excellent videos a the bottom of this very long blopost ;) Sorry, but this is a very serious issue and I want to address it the best I can.
I'm not trying to give myself a plug here, it's just that in this video I made a little while ago, I explain Social Media and talk about Social Media Super Hero Powers The really interesting thing about this video, was just after I made it all the amazing things that happened in Egypt took place and it just consummated the whole kit and kaboodle for me. I think everyone really woke up to Social Media in a Huge way after that. Anyways below it the NDP's statement.

My Opinions
I'll be open and state that in the past I have supported NDP, but I am really feeling Green right now. I used to vote a certain way because I didn't want the other guy to get it, but this time I feel that Green is really speaking to me. That said I haven't actually heard Elizabeth May speak and so that may change it, and I have a lot more research to do.

* As a practical first step to eliminate child poverty, we will combine existing supports like the Child Tax Benefit to create a non-taxable Child Benefit and increase the support steadily by up to $700 per child over the next four years. This will be in addition to the current Universal Child Care Benefit;
* We will table legislation that will set goals and targets for poverty reduction in consultation with the provincial, territorial, municipal and Aboriginal governments and with non-governmental organizations.
Now if Jack Layton could seriously promise he could raise the Child Care Benefits to $700 a month, well that would help alot, but that's 4 years in the coming. I want that NOW!! We need something like this right now. I would like them to go in and Tax the corporations and the Politicans or somehow Create Incentives for these big Corporations and people who make huge amounts of money, to share the love, to Give It Away, to help children that are HUNGRY! and help our future.
Kids that don't eat well, don't grow well. Their brains won't have the same potential. Granted the human being is amazing at surviving, but in most cases they are more prone to illness.

Often children growing up in homes of poverty have lower self esteem and that leads to some many issues later in life. Not only that they have worries all the time. When you have to count the days til you get paid and make sure the milk will last, or there's no juice, you will have to wait 2 more days...families living like this have too much stress and it makes the children stressed. It shouldn't be this way. There are lots of solutions available they just need to be implemented.
Look at anyone who came out of the depression and tells you stories of how they had nothing to eat, many led very unhealthy lives all stemming from childhood poverty. IT'S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE!!
We go in and feed children of other countries (and I totally support that) but we aren't helping the children right here in Canada.
We Need to make Children the PRIORITY!! not the minority!
Our kids, they're hungry, groceries are REALLY EXPENSIVE!! So many people need help and it's so shockingly sad that Canada even has an issue like this.
The children are not hungry just for food, but art, dance, music, green space, a Healthy Revamped Education System

Cultural Curation, I love that term. Read below Rebecca Coleman's experience, I believe it's a very common theme these days and it's wonderful and special. I know I love looking at old photos, and the home movies my dad made are SO special, as he died when I young, but he made those memories for me.
I may not have really remembered all the things he documented if I didn't have those movies to look at and thus trigger the memories. Even the photos of my grandmas house in Vancouver and watching it be built. I am glad my grandfather was good photographer and took all those photos. They are like gold to me.
Rebecca tells about and conference she went to recently and some points the Keynote speaker made. To Quote Rebecca...
"A couple of weeks back, at the #Eat.Drink.Tweet conference, the keynote was delivered by a guy named Rick Bakas, whose claim to fame is that he was the very first Director of Social Media in the wine industry ...

Dawn is a SAHM to two rambunctious boys, a 6 year old and a 2 year old. She is also the owner of Dawn Fry Photo, a portrait photography business. Dawn enjoys blogging, photography, cooking and spending time with her family – not necessarily in that order!
She fancies herself a jack of all trades, and probably knows a little bit about most everything. In her brief work history (BC – before children) she worked as a music teacher, a cocktail waitress, hostess with the most-ess, a catering sales assistant, a financial planner’s assistant, a model coach, professional photographer, health food store manager, event sales manager, wedding planner and a slew of other things that make her a master of, well…nothing!
At times things get crazy, but she tries to find the humor in it all. And with 2 mischievous little boys, you know she’s likely to have a funny story from time to time!

I’m Kim and I’m a SAHM to a 6.75yr old daughter and a 4yr old son. I too consider myself a bit of a Jack of All Trades! I do know some about a lot of things. Dawn is a SAHM to two rambunctious boys, a 6 year old and a 2 year old. She is also the owner of Dawn Fry Photo, a portrait photography business. Dawn enjoys blogging, photography, cooking and spending time with her family – not necessarily in that order!
She fancies herself a jack of all trades, and probably knows a little bit about most everything. In her brief work history (BC – before children) she worked as a music teacher, a cocktail waitress, hostess with the most-ess, a catering sales assistant, a financial planner’s assistant, a model coach, professional photographer, health food store manager, event sales manager, wedding planner and a slew of other things that make her a master of, well…nothing!
At times things get crazy, but she tries to find the humor in it all. And with 2 mischievous little boys, you know she’s likely to have a funny story from time to time!

I’m Kim and I’m a SAHM to a 6.75yr old daughter and a 4yr old son. I too consider myself a bit of a Jack of All Trades! I do know some about a lot of things. I enjoy photography, reading, audiobooks, crafty things, baking, podcasts, and I am a TOTAL Twilighter (a huge fan of the Twilight Book Saga). I am a hairdresser by trade, but I have experience in running a business, waitress-ing, dog grooming, and banking.
