I Was Alive. I Saw This. πŸ•Š️ The Day of No Kings

 πŸŒπŸ’« I Was Alive. I Saw This.

πŸ•Š️ The Day of No Kings — October 18, 2025

Today, something historic is unfolding across the United States — the #NoKings Marches.
Millions of people — from coast to coast — are standing up for democracy, truth, and freedom. ✊

And here I am, in Canada πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦, watching… feeling it in my bones.
The air feels charged — like the whole planet is holding its breath. πŸŒŽπŸ’¨

⚡ History in Real Time

The United States is 249 years old — almost a quarter of a millennium. πŸŽ†
It’s survived civil wars, assassinations, corruption, and chaos — and every single time, the people brought it back to life.

From Andrew Jackson’s forced removals to Nixon’s Watergate lies, from George W. Bush’s wars to Trump’s division, Americans have fought to keep their democracy breathing. πŸ’”➡️❤️‍πŸ”₯

And today — they’re doing it again.

“No Kings. No Dictators. No Corruption.”
That’s not just a slogan — it’s a declaration of life.

πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ Across the Border — We Feel It Too

Here in Canada, we’re quieter sometimes — but not untouched.
We’ve seen the same rise of hard-right ideologies, the same obsession with oil, profit, and control, and the same silencing of truth-tellers. πŸ›’️πŸ’°πŸ€

Our media’s not perfect either.
Our leaders have failed many times.
But when people unite — with compassion, courage, and awareness — we remember who we are. 🌿πŸ”₯

πŸ’– I Was Alive. I Saw This.

When future generations ask what this day felt like…
I’ll say:

“The world trembled, but the people stood tall.” 🌈
“We were scared, but we showed up anyway.” πŸ•―️
“We remembered — power belongs to the people.” πŸ’ͺ

🌸 Reflective Questions for You

πŸ•Š️ What does freedom mean to you — right now, in your daily life?
πŸ”₯ When was the last time you felt proud to stand up for something that mattered?
🌍 How can we, as neighbours — Canada and the U.S. — protect truth, peace, and compassion across our borders?
πŸ’¬ How will you remember October 18, 2025 — The Day of No Kings?

✨ Closing Thoughts

Today isn’t about left or right. It’s about light vs. darkness.
It’s about truth over fear, community over control, and people over power.

Let’s hold space for everyone marching — with courage, tears, and love.
May they stay safe. May this movement stay peaceful. May it mark a new beginning. πŸ™πŸ’™

I was alive.
I saw this.
And I’ll never forget it. 🌟

The Power of Art

The Power of Art: When Walls Speak Louder Than Words

Art has a way of speaking that words often cannot. It can provoke, inspire, comfort, and disrupt—all at the same time. Every brushstroke, every stencil, every installation carries the potential to challenge the status quo, ignite debate, and shine light on issues that society sometimes tries to ignore.

Take Banksy’s latest mural outside London’s Royal Courts of Justice. Overnight, a judge in wig and robes appears to strike a protester with a gavel. The protester lies on the ground clutching a blood-stained placard. It’s raw. It’s confronting. It’s impossible to ignore.

Within hours, people were buzzing—on social media, in newsrooms, in casual conversations—because this work of art captures something urgent: the tension between authority and activism, between rules and justice, between silence and speaking out.

Art like this reminds us of its enduring power:

  • Art provokes thought. It makes us question the world around us. Why is this happening? Who benefits? Who suffers?
  • Art sparks conversation. From coffee tables to courtrooms, a single image can create waves of discussion about ethics, policy, and human rights.
  • Art transcends language. A mural, a painting, or a sculpture communicates across barriers of nationality, age, and language. Its message is immediate, visceral, and emotional.
  • Art can challenge authority. History is full of artists who dared to question governments, corporations, and societal norms. Their work is remembered long after the news cycles end.

In a world where so much is filtered, curated, and sanitized, art cuts through the noise. It reminds us that ideas are not just for headlines—they are for hearts and minds.

So, whether it’s a mural on a wall, a sculpture in a park, or a street performance that stops traffic, remember: art has power. The power to wake us up, to unite us, and to make us see the world differently.

Let’s celebrate art that challenges us, that makes us uncomfortable, that forces us to think. Because sometimes, the loudest voice in the room is not a speech—it’s a piece of art.

Gentrification: What Works? Rage, Reform, or Both?

✊ Gentrification: What Works? Rage, Reform, or Both?

Lately, I saw a video that stopped me cold — protesters in Mexico City walking into upscale restaurants, calmly saying “Buenos dΓas”… and then smashing the windows.

They weren’t criminals. They were angry citizens.

Their message?

“We’re being pushed out. You’re not welcome if you’re displacing us.”

It was a protest against gentrification — a phenomenon we know all too well here in Vancouver, though we react to it very differently.

πŸŒ† Vancouver vs. Mexico City: Two Worlds, One Problem

In Vancouver, gentrification creeps in quietly. CafΓ©s, yoga studios, and condos replace co-ops, low-income housing, and corner stores.
We hold peaceful rallies, sign petitions, and speak at city council — if anyone even listens.

In Mexico City, frustration spilled over. Residents, especially in Condesa and Roma, are watching their rents double or triple because of Airbnbs and remote workers from abroad.
They didn’t wait. They acted.

πŸ’ So What Actually Works?

Let’s get real: gentrification is a global force — driven by investment capital, tourism, and policies that favour developers over people.

So what strategy is more effective at stopping it?

πŸ”₯ Direct Action (like Mexico City)

  • Grabs media and political attention
  • Shocks the public out of complacency
  • Builds solidarity through shared urgency
  • Forces leaders to address the crisis

But it’s risky. Protesters can be arrested, vilified, or ignored — and without follow-up, the system often stays the same.

🧾 Formal Advocacy (like Vancouver)

  • Works within laws and policies
  • Wins incremental legal gains
  • Builds long-term coalitions

But it’s slow. It often lacks urgency. And let’s face it — developers are always 10 steps ahead.

✅ So What’s Most Effective?

The answer:

Both. Together. Coordinated. Relentless. Human.

The most successful housing movements mix disruption with reform:

  • Barcelona elected a former housing activist as mayor.
  • Berlin passed a vote to reclaim 240,000 corporate-owned apartments.
  • New York tenant unions combined protests with legal support to freeze rent increases.

What do these movements have in common?
They didn’t play nice, but they didn’t go it alone either.

πŸ“£ Vancouver, Wake Up

We can’t politely beg our way out of a housing crisis.

It’s time to raise our voices, organize at the grassroots, and support those who take risks to demand justice.

We need:

  • Tenant organizing
  • Community land trusts
  • Airbnb regulation enforcement
  • More housing taken OFF the market

And yes, we might need more noise — the kind that wakes people up before it’s too late.

πŸ“ Final Thought

Gentrification doesn’t just erase buildings — it erases communities, culture, and connection.

Let’s not lose who we are while pretending it’s all just the market at work.

Sometimes change needs a hammer. Sometimes it needs a pen.

But it always starts with people refusing to stay quiet.

July 4th? Protests Across the U.S. — And They're Not Over Yet

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ What Happened on July 4th? Protests Across the U.S. — And They're Not Over Yet

Posted by Tina Winterlik aka Zipolita
July 5, 2025

This year’s Independence Day looked very different across the United States.

Instead of fireworks and family barbecues, millions of Americans hit the streets in protest. The message? Freedom, democracy, and justice are under threat — and people are rising up to defend them.

From New York to Los Angeles, Salt Lake City to Tampa Bay, citizens gathered in what organizers called a “Free America” movement — resisting the sweeping authoritarian trends many associate with the current Trump administration.

πŸ”₯ Highlights from the July 4th Protests:

  • Nationwide Mobilization:
Protests were organized by the Women’s March and dozens of grassroots coalitions. These rallies targeted issues such as:

    • Civil rights rollbacks
    • Immigration raids
    • Cuts to Medicaid and social programs
    • Threats to reproductive rights
    • Dismantling of environmental protections
  • Houston Defies Restrictions:
Even after their permit was denied, protestors gathered at City Hall in Houston. It was small but powerful — an impromptu act of defiance.

  • Southern California's Ghost Town Celebrations:
Entire communities, especially in Los Angeles suburbs, canceled July 4 events. Why? Fear of ICE raids and surveillance. People were too scared to gather in public.

  • Creative Resistance:
Across the country, people used music, art, cookouts, and even projection mapping to share messages of hope, unity, and resistance.

πŸ‘£ Are Protests Still Happening?

Yes.
Though July 4th was the peak, events continue today — July 5th — and are expected to roll into the weekend. Some are smaller community-led gatherings, while others are coordinated marches.

πŸ’¬ Why It Matters:

These protests are not just political — they are deeply personal.

People are marching because:

  • They’re scared.
  • They’ve lost access to healthcare.
  • They’ve been targeted by raids.
  • They feel democracy slipping away.

It’s not just one issue. It’s everything. And it’s reaching a boiling point.

🌎 Final Thought from Zipolita:

I often write about justice, human rights, and the struggle to be seen and heard. This movement feels like a warning bell. People are trying to hold on to what little freedom they have left — and they’re doing it with courage, creativity, and conviction.

The protests are not the end. They are the beginning.

Stay informed. Stay strong. ✊🏽

Everything Is Burning

πŸ”₯πŸŒͺ️ Everything Is Burning While We Scroll

They say the world is on fire—and it is.
San Diego. Saskatchewan. Manitoba.
The boreal forests of Canada torching the skies.
Tropical Storm Alvin stirring in the Pacific.
It might change names, like Agatha did,
but the chaos doesn’t forget.

We forgot, though.
That firestorm three years ago?
Moved inland, renamed, reborn as destruction—
but we were already distracted by the next trending topic.

Meanwhile, people ride electric bikes to deliver fast food
to people watching climate collapse
from behind triple-glazed windows.
Clicking "like" on a photo of a burning skyline,
then refreshing their cart for a new pair of sneakers
made from mined lithium and exploited labour.

We are disconnected from food,
from nature,
from each other.
We treat water like waste,
land like profit,
and Earth like a product.

We drive petroleum cars
while condemning oil spills.
We shout “sustainability”
into microphones made of mined metals
and powered by coal-fired servers.

And when someone—
a journalist, an activist, a kid with a cardboard sign—
tries to speak the truth?
They’re shadow banned,
mocked,
dismissed as naΓ―ve or radical.

Because there’s always someone ready to debate:
“Not all billionaires,”
“Not all mining,”
“Not all cars.”

And that’s the point.
Keep us arguing while the planet burns.
Keep us fighting each other
so the billionaires can keep building bunkers
and buying land above the flood lines.

It's not just climate collapse. It's spiritual collapse.
We forgot we were animals.
We forgot how to grow food,
to sit with silence,
to listen to wind,
to fear fire.

But I still write this.
Even if it feels useless.
Even if no one listens.
Because someone might.
And when the next Alvin becomes the next Agatha,
when the smoke reaches new skies,
when even denial can’t cover the cracks in the system—
maybe those words will still be there,
waiting to be heard.

Rainy Day, Empty Condos, and a Protest Few Can Attend

🌧️ Rainy Day, Empty Condos, and a Protest Few Can Attend

By Tina Winterlik aka Zipolita

It’s a cold, rainy, miserable day in BC — the kind of day where your bones feel the dampness, and your heart feels heavy too. I’m thinking about all the people out there without shelter. The ones walking through puddles with no dry place to go. The ones trying to stay warm under awnings or bus stops. The ones with nowhere safe to sleep tonight.

Today was supposed to be a protest in Victoria. People were planning to gather, raise their voices, demand change. But this weather will keep many away. Especially those with disabilities, chronic illnesses, or no means to get there.

And the irony? This is exactly what we're fighting for. A right to live with dignity. A place to call home.

🏚️ From $630 to Couchsurfing: My Story

I used to live in a modest apartment in Vancouver. In 1997, rent was $630.
By 2003, it jumped to $825.
In 2007, $900.
And when I moved across the street in 2019? $1,414.

I haven’t been able to afford a place here since.

I rented in Mexico for a time. I stayed with my sister for a year. Now I’m couchsurfing — like so many others pushed out by rising rents, renovictions, and a system that values profit over people.

πŸ—️ Renovictions: Legal Theft

This week, a Hamilton landlord was fined $100,000 for illegal renovictions — displacing tenants under the guise of repairs, only to jack up rents afterward. The court acknowledged the “devastating” impact.

But in BC, this has happened for decades — both discreetly and out in the open. In my building, the renovations kept coming, tenants kept leaving, and the rents kept rising.

Where is our justice?

πŸ™️ 2,000 Empty Condos, and Social Assistance Can't Cover Rent

We have over 2,000 empty condos in this city, yet people sleep in doorways. The shelter portion of social assistance is $375 — not even enough for a single room, unless you’re in a derelict SRO not fit for any living being.

Is this not a crime against humanity?

πŸ’” This Isn't Just Bad Policy — It's Cruel

We’ve allowed housing to become a commodity, not a human right. The result? Generations of people priced out, displaced, or left to fend for themselves in the cold.

And when a protest comes — the one day people try to speak out — the weather reminds us just how vulnerable we really are.

So even if no one shows up in Victoria today, we still need to speak out.

I see you. I hear you. I am you.

We won’t be silent. Not today. Not ever.

✊🏽 What You Can Do:

  • Share your story. Online, in letters, at community meetings.
  • Support or join tenant unions and housing advocates.
  • Demand real action: Vacancy control, livable assistance rates, social housing, and empty home penalties.
  • Speak for those who can’t make it to protests — because their voice matters too.

Stay dry. Stay safe. Stay strong.

KINDER MORGAN, WE SAY NO! March & Rally 2017

I am so tired. Tired we have to keep having RALLIES AND MARCHES to get climate justice and social justice. It's a lot for me to film these events. My back gets sore, it's hard to hold the camera really still during the speeches, the walk is long and I often have to run to catch up to certain parts but it is critical that these events are recorded and documented and SHARED WIDELY!!! Share this around the world, have a conversation with someone.

WE MUST STAND TOGETHER. WE ARE ONE!!

I asked my friend to watch the news and tell me if he saw me..ha!   there was nothing even on the news about it, from what he saw. Maybe a different station but it won't surprise me.

It's called oppression. Our voices are being oppressed. Just as the colonialist banned the potlatches and arrested any gatherings of more than 3 First Nations peoples, so are the major news networks, politicians and corporations trying to oppress and ignore the masses.

We must preserve and I am so PROUD of ALL of you for coming out yesterday.
I honor you! I hold my hands up to all of you. All my relations!

It was raining, people could have blown it off but they didn't. THANK YOU.

SPECIAL SHOUT OUT to EAGLE EYES!!

He did an AWESOME job of MC'ing the event and I was thrilled and so blessed that Shane Point -Shane Point (Ti' te-in), xΚ·mΙ™ΞΈkΚ·Ι™y̓Ι™m  Elder‎ of Musqueam Nation was there and sang/chanted for us. I still get shivers, it's very POWERFUL and I don't know if everyone realized how sacred and special that was and he was so kind to share his wisdom with us. It's too bad the mic was to quiet and well I think that he would have said more but I am happy happy happy he was there. His message was powerful. I hope you listened.

Chief Bobby Joe and Bob Chamberlin

And Chief Bobby Joe -http://reconciliationcanada.ca/about/team/chief-dr-robert-joseph/  was there. After Chief Bob Chamberlin spoke they came down the stairs and stood right beside me. Bob's sister from Musgmagw Dzawada’enuwx Nation http://www.mdtc.ca/cleansing-our-waters  was there too.  I was in awe! But I got all shy (that always happens and I bug myself after for not speaking up more...) but I don't like to intrude on people. I just told him I had seen all his videos. I wanted to hug him and say how much I admired everything he had done.

I get teary thinking about everything right now. Just getting a rush of emotion from everything ...it was truly a powerful event yesterday.

Big shout out too to MARTA I believe her name is, I don't know her last name but her brother told me she had made all these sea life & animal signs.. or helped but what ever...HOW BEAUTIFUL! AND this is ART IN ACTION! Using art to raise our voices. I loved them so much. Thank you!

Shout outs to all the women who spoke up!!
Kanahus Manuel, grassroots community organizer from the Secwepemc Nation, founder of the Tiny House Warriors

Kanahus spoke by phone and that was an honor to her about her Tinyhouse Warriors!! https://www.facebook.com/tinyhousewarriors/
https://www.secwepemculecw.org/tiny-house-warriors

So important the women speak and be heard! And to all the drummers! THANK YOU!

Well this is it. Soon,  praying and projecting that all goes to plan, we will be heading to Mexico for the winter to reunite with family and friend we have not seen in 5 years..the housing is just unaffordable here and my friend has some health issues so we can't share with him anymore.

So this is it for documenting events for a while..EXCEPT I am going to do my best to be at the RECONCILIATION WALK on SEPT 24 2017 http://reconciliationcanada.ca/walk-for-reconciliation-2017/  and please everyone come out for that.

Let's show we are serious about reconciliation and let's make our voices loud and proud that we want big changes and we want to protect our Mother!!

So here's video part one, it's basically the beginning and end of the RALLY and then part 2 is the March and then there's all the photos.

PLEASE SHARE WIDELY!! HAVE A CONVERSATION!

We don't want our kids to puke brown goo, like in Kalmazoo, and it's no f'king joke!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGcJ64q9BaM

And we need to Save the Wild Salmon or it's over for us.
https://tinawinterlik.blogspot.ca/2017/09/fish-farms-must-end-before-ecological.html

NO PIPELINE! NO TANKERS! POWER TO THE PEOPLE AND NOT THE BANKERS!!

It was so great to see Shane Point again. So blessed he took time out of his very very busy schedule to come down and share his wisdom with us. I remember the first day at Langara. He told us he hated to be called elder, so I always referred to him as wise one.  The Energy was Bigger than Us!

Selfie of me Tina Winterlik aka Zipolita and RESPECTED Musquem Elder Shane Point
I wish I had been brave enough to ask  Chief Bobby Joe for a selfie, but I don't know him well. Maybe at the Reconciliation walk, if I am so blessed. Sending love and light to you all.

Paddle for the Peace-VANIER PARK- JULY 8

Come on Vancouver, LET'S SHOW SOME LOVE FOR THE PEACE RIVER!!! Go to Vanier Park July 8!! #StopSiteC

On July 8th, our friends up north will be hosting the 12th Annual Paddle for the Peace to celebrate and defend the beautiful Peace River against the Site C dam (https://paddleforthepeace.ca/).

Why here? Here in the Lower Mainland, we want to give people who cannot make it to the Paddle an opportunity to show their solidarity with the Treaty 8 First Nations and the farmers who are losing their land to Site C - as well as their opposition to a project that will affect all of us for years to come!

You're invited! Please join us on July 8th at 1 pm at Vanier Park (by the Maritime Museum) in Vancouver to stand in opposition to this ridiculous dam and to enjoy a fun, family-friendly carnival themed afternoon of entertainment.

From 1-3 pm, enjoy speakers, performances, roving entertainers, and action tables where you can write to your representatives, sign postcards, volunteer, or find other ways to get involved in the movement!

Our featured speaker will be Helen Knott, an incredible poet and activist from Prophet River First Nation. We are honoured and thrilled to have Helen joining us!

We've confirmed stiltwalkers, puppeteers, hula-hoopers, poi spinners, musicians, poets, dancers, balloon sculptures, giant inflatable animals, and many other exciting and fun entertainers and activities! This is going to be an event to remember!

Want to paddle?
The BC Sea Wolves will lead a symbolic paddle from Granville Island to Vanier Park. If you would like to join the paddle, please be prepared to meet at Granville Island at 12 pm sharp. You can rent kayaks from Ecomarine Paddlesports. Sign up to paddle here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/FFBRFYN . Neil Young- I wish somebody would share the news

There’s a battle raging on the sacred land
Our brothers and sisters have to take a stand
Against us now for what we all been doing
On the sacred land there’s a battle brewing

I wish somebody would share the news

Now it’s been about 500 years
We keep taking what we gave away
Just like what we call Indian givers
It makes you sick and gives you shivers

I wish somebody would share the news

Big money going backwards and ripping the soil
Where graves are scattered and blood was boiled
When all who look can see the truth
But they just move on and keep their groove

I wish somebody would share the news

Saw Happy locked to the big machine
They had to cut him loose and you know what that means
That’s when Happy went to jail
Behind big money justice always fails

I wish somebody would share the news

Bring back the days when good was good
Lose these imposters in our neighborhood
Across our farms and through our waters
All at the cost of our sons and daughters

Our brave songs and daughters
We're all here together fighting poison waters
Standing against the evil way
That’s what we have at the end of day

I wish somebody would share the news

Bruce Cockburn- How I love his music!!

Hey Bruce was at the Folk Festival but we missed him.

I didn't know sadly..and it was a little late for us but here's some of his songs. I used to listened to his tape all the time driving in my car. Now that's dating me isn't it.

This gives me goosebumps...

Lyrics

Sun's up, uuh huh, looks okay
The world survives into another day
And I'm thinking about eternity
Some kind of ecstasy got a hold on me

I had another dream about lions at the door
They weren't half as frightening as they were before
But I'm thinking about eternity
Some kind of ecstasy got a hold on me

Walls windows trees, waves coming through
You be in me and I'll be in you
Together in eternity
Some kind of ecstasy got a hold on me

Up among the furs where it smells so sweet
Or down in the valley where the river used to be
I got my mind on eternity
Some kind of ecstasy got a hold on me
And I'm wondering where the lions are
I'm wondering where the lions are

Huge orange flying boat rises off a lake
Thousand-year-old hieroglyphs doing a double take
Pointing a finger at eternity
I'm sitting in the middle of this ecstasy

Young men marching, helmets shining in the sun
Polished and precise like the brain behind the gun
(Should be) they got me thinking about eternity
Some kind of ecstasy got a hold on me
And I'm wondering where the lions are
I'm wondering where the lions are

Freighters on the nod on the surface of the bay
One of these days we're going to sail away
Going to sail into eternity
Some kind of ecstasy got a hold on me
And I'm wondering where the lions are
I'm wondering where the lions are

Housing Justice Now -the City Hall Sleepover...

UPDATE: Jun 6 2016- MAYBE someone did hear us!!!

Mayor Gregor Robertson warns that unsustainable increases in housing prices threaten Vancouver economy

 http://www.straight.com/news/711671/mayor-gregor-robertson-warns-unsustainable-increases-housing-prices-threaten-vancouver
 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
that never happened. Fail!

Update: Maybe it wasn't such a fail, we did make news on CBC and Global.

We tried!

SADLY, it just didn't come together. Not that I was prepared to SleepOver but I was ready for a picnic and music and speeches and to video and photograph...but not many people showed up.

It was probably due to the fact that yes, it started as a joke and I thought it was a great idea to get something going so I put it on my blog to try and get it leverage and others tried to get music together...

this morning the CBC was asking who was organizing it and I pointed out a few people but...

even though we got all that together we didn't have enough PEOPLE POWER.

What is it Vancouver? Are you truly that apathetic or was it that is was a work day, and the time and date changed over and over...so there were lots of issues...no one wants to show up at a non event and I am so very sorry for the woman and child that did. Really sorry, I would be pissed if I did it.

Sending you a big hug, thank you for your effort. It is appreciated. I hope if and when it happens again, you can join us. But the rest of you...if you care about your fellow man, then speak up. One day it may be you that is being evicted or some other housing horror story...and you will have wished you had taken a stand with us then.

You know there was a Monsanto March this year and no one went...like just a 100 people. Compare that with the Pot Protest- (WHICH I state here for the record- we did not attend - I ONLY photographed from the bridge...just to document history!!!)

Seriously Vancouverites, what are your prerogatives...

Not housing obviously....you don't care what's going in your food (Monsanto march no show) and now I guess you really may not care about housing...is that true..there was a bunch of people who showed up Kerrisdale awhile back...but what happened today...???

I really don't want to believe that you really have no empathy for that homeless man begging in front of Wholefoods as you collect your tiny bags worth of $100 + groceries.

I guess I was wrong, apparently you don't care about the Declaration of Human Rights. Maybe you don't know YOUR Human Rights. http://www.claiminghumanrights.org/udhr_article_25.html

  1. Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control.
  2. Motherhood and childhood are entitled to special care and assistance. All children, whether born in or out of wedlock, shall enjoy the same social protection.

 Are these days gone....

So we know we care about the Climate
https://tinawinterlik.blogspot.ca/2015/11/climatemarchyvr-video-photos-nov-29.html

People definitely care about Alberta and Fort McMurray
 https://tinawinterlik.blogspot.ca/2016/05/150-million-to-help-fortmurrayfire.html

and the Refugees...what about the people in your neighbourhood.

Anyways to the people made an effort and those who truly wished to be there but couldn't, THANK YOU! YOU ROCK!

At least Michael and Marilyn did talk to someone from the housing department.
That's something. Better than nothing. Right?

Here's a few videos and photos of today!

Do you know about Treaties?

Do you remember this?
http://globalnews.ca/news/1416321/city-of-vancouver-formally-declares-city-is-on-unceded-aborginal-territory/

"Vancouver city council has unanimously voted to acknowledge that the city is on unceded Aboriginal territory.  Mayor Gregor Robertson declared a ‘Year of Reconciliation’ last summer, in the hopes of building new relationships between Aboriginals and Vancouverites."

For those of you who are homelessness, living in relative homelessness or facing homelessness, please don't give up!!

We're going to try again, but this is going to take a HUGE UNITED EFFORT, ........next time we need everyone onboard.

Sending out love and light, praying for homes, for social justice, for humanity to wake up and unite.
