Look Cultus Lake BC. I used to live in a little cabin there. Lived there in the wintertime. The lake actually froze enough you could throw big rocks on it and they'd bounce and make fun noise. When I lived in Clearbrook and worked graveyards, I would sleep til noon, then go up to Lake, suntan, sleep in the sun, come home, sleep some more and go to work. It was fun. I had a little VW bug then. Good memories!

The Chilliwack Center of Excellence is a club run by the members for
the members and promotes personal achievement through recreational and
competitive kayaking.
The CCE
has been offering high quality kayak instruction and paddling
opportunities in Chilliwack for over 30 years. We provide services for
individuals and groups interested in kayaking in a variety of
environments: calm waters to roaring rivers; relaxing Sundays to
international competition. It all began as a training center for many
National Team athletes and Olympians. The club still supports the
pursuit of excellence and has also grown to provide an equal number of
recreational opportunities.
Based on Cultus Lake and in the
Chilliwack River Valley, we are the premier slalom training club in
British Columbia. The coaches offer training opportunities to paddlers
who compete or just want to improve their skills through slalom
training. Many CCE members are on the provincial and national
whitewater teams, and they go on to win kayaking races nationally and

members also have a great time paddling on calm waters around
Chilliwack. Through the summer we paddle around on Cultus Lake and take
several trips to other areas to enjoy the natural beauty of the Fraser
Valley.
Some places we go: Harrison River, Hope Slough, Vedder Canal, Chilliwack Lake, and more.

So my friend on FB pointed this out after I shared the petition. And
I shared it because the previous day I saw this. And I had found this disturbing. And I thought maybe it was fake! I shared this!"I LOVE HERITAGE BUILDINGS! and in 1999 I created some beautiful photos of Heritage Buildings and had a show. Here is a video of it. And you have to wonder why they made a fake site and the real question is who. Was it a student, was it a warning, does someone know something we don't? Was it Adbusters or someone similar...who's the joker and whose being pranked or warned?"
Now this gets even more interesting! Check out this info and video from Wikipedia about a movement from the 1930's that was trying to end poverty but interestingly it didn't succeed, NOT because the people didn't want it but they were manipulated by propaganda. It was the big movie theatres playing these clips in the theatres before all the movies. From Wikipedia The End Poverty in California movement (EPIC) was a political campaign started in 1934 by famed socialist writer Upton Sinclair.
The movement formed the basis for Sinclair’s campaign for Governor of
California in 1934. The plan called for a massive public works program,
sweeping tax reform, and guaranteed pensions. The plan gained major
support, with thousands joining End Poverty Leagues across the state.
EPIC never came to fruition due to Sinclair’s defeat in the 1934
election, but is seen as an influence on New Deal programs enacted by
President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
EPIC faced major opposition by the Republican Party
and major media figures. Opponents of EPIC “organized the most lavish
and creative dirty-tricks campaign ever seen—one that was to become a
landmark in American politics” involving “turning over a major campaign
to outside advertising, publicity, media and fundraising consultants for
the first time.” Notable among these opponents were the heads of the
major movie studios in Hollywood. This was largely due to Sinclair’s
proposal to hand over idle movie studio lots to unemployed film workers
to make movies of their own.
In reaction, the studio heads threatened to
move film operations to Florida, and deducted money from employee’s
paychecks to give directly to the campaign of Sinclair’s Republican
opponent for Governor, Frank Merriam. In addition, two of the state’s most influential media moguls, William Randolph Hearst and Harry Chandler
used their papers to solely cover Merriam’s campaign and to attack
Sinclair. In the face of this coordinated opposition, and without the
backing of Roosevelt, Sinclair began trailing Merriam in the polls. On
November 6, 1934, Merriam defeated Sinclair with 1,138,629 (48.9%) to
Sinclair’s 879,537 (37.8%). Despite his defeat, Sinclair’s vote total
was the twice as large as the vote total of any Democratic candidate in
California history to that point. In addition, two dozen candidates

Now Occupy Wall Street doesn't just happen because someone posts a picture obviously there are many variables that play a role. But consider this?
It was recently suggested to me by my friend that, that is perhaps why we have so many homeless in Stanley Park, and now suddenly we actually have real crime, like a child almost abducted...perhaps and maybe it was all co-incidence but perhaps some evil person is trying to instill fear into people so they could fill Stanley Park with Condos.
Sounds Crazy Right? But I am sure Occupy Wall Street just sounded like a silly crazy idea to start too! But isn't it amazing how these things get started.
Can we step back and take a look at the bigger picture...who is doing the manipulating and who is being manipulated. What is the truth?
Canada is at a crossroads. We as a nation have really been damaged by things our government has done. This is not the Canada I was raised in. We are bombarded with ads fake and real every second of the day.
Our Government has lied to us repeatedly and if there is just one thing to take a way from it all...always keep an open mind and question everything. We can easily be distracted from the truth and can even get caught up in fear.
We must Chose Love Not Fear!!

I remember the first time when I really understood what Remembrance Day was. I think I was 8 or 9. I was in Brownies and somehow I got to be my group's leader. That meant that I was chosen to walk with Guide and someone else (I forget who) and put a wreath of poppies at the Cenotaph.
For me is was a little scary and I remember I was very nervous. Everyone was so quiet and no one was smiling. It definitely imprinted me.
I remember too that we all learned the poem in Flanders Fields in school. As I write this my daughter asks "Why did they fight? " That's a big question and I am not able to answer very well. We google and research it. She understand what Remembrance Day is about and tomorrow even though we are Mexico, we will take some time to remember...

With the news that the Cowichan River is drying up and that The Cowichan Tribes have actually stopped fishing (something that is very sacred and the core of their livelihood, I wanted to share this video as it shows how truly amazing these fish are!!

Here they are releasing Salmon they rescued
In less than a week they've gotten 638 signatures which shows people do care and are concerned but please let's keep it going.
It's critical for the Cowichan Tribes, for the Salmon, for the Cowichan river and all the plants, animals and creatures that depend on it and for all the people like my daughter and I that had such wonderful times on it this summer.
I just wanted to add something here, this summer when we went WWOOF'ing, it wasn't all peaches and cream. There were issues, as there always is when your trying to adapt to an new environment. At one point when my daughter and I were being really stressed out about something that occurred on the river, I was shaking my head and my little girl had asked thru tears..."Why is this happening Mommy? "and I was asking God and the universe in general "Why did was I brought here?" "Why was I being put in this position?" but now I know.
It was for this. So that I could take the photos and video that I did and to have the wonderful experiences along with the occasional turbulence so that I could share with you. So that I had a way to communicate the beauty of the Cowichan River and I could do my part and help where I could to help the river, the forest, the salmon, the people. I am doing what I can....Are You?
I also wanted to add that we were so grateful the whole time we were there and that we appreciated the Cowichan River, knowing that at anytime we may have to cut our journey short and leave, so every minute we spent at the river we treasured it deeply.
The Cowichan River is truly a magnificent sight and experience and I pray that the rains come and it grows and there is plenty of water for the Salmon and everyone. I hope you'll take a minute and say a prayer too and please sign that petition so that the river will be better managed. THANK YOU!
