Mural Festival, False Creek Sea Walk & Cyress Gardens

Well we certainly got our exercise yesterday. I had great plans but there was a major glitch. Poor shoe choice. I need new shoes...I found a bunch recently but they keep breaking.

I was wearing those black sandals but I hit cobblestone and it broke, better the shoe, than my toe...but then it was a long walk because we were on the False Creek Seawall...

Finally we made it to our destination- the Vancouver Mural Festival and thankfully we found a thrift store and I managed to hobble around in a pair of $1.99 shoes until we could get home. Sadly though we never saw many murals. But we shall return...probably with our bikes.

We enjoyed ourselves though, lots of interesting sights, great music, Angel got a great deal on shorts that she needed for gym at school- from #myinnerfire and was very happy. I was disappointed that we didn't see many murals but it was a great walk and beautiful day.

On the way back we took the bus but then still walked through the Cypress and Maple Gardens, thankfully they haven't paved them. https://tinawinterlik.blogspot.ca/2016/08/mayor-gregor-why.html

Diesel Spill in English Bay

" A diesel spill that was spotted in English Bay by Sky Helicopters, a Vancouver tour company, has been determined to be more of a nuisance than a threat to the marine environment."

Gee according to who?

How would you like to have someone pour oil/diesel fuel all over your yard/home/food. POOR WHALE and all the seals and herons and other animals I see there...the herring the whale was eating....

The Coast Guard and the Western Canada Marine Response Corporation responded to the spill but quickly determined it did not pose a threat to the marine environment. (Bryce Westlund/SKY Helicopters)

Look here in the bottom corner, this is Maritime Museum so that you can see the scale. Apparently there are letting it dissipate.

The whale was all around there yesterday eating herring. But I didn't see him today.

Praying this is never our reality! WakeUp!! #NoTankers #NoPipelines #KeepItIntheGround #Leap
