"Wall of Love-Remixed"

Blog post by Tina Winterlik © 2011

http://tinawinterlik.blogspot.com

I just remixed "Wall of Love" and it's sooooooo much better. I really LOVE it now. I changed the music to

"Loved" by Wellman (feat. Mykle Anthony)

and I'm sure you'll agree. I was really surprised that the first video - Wall of Love has 300 views. I thought there was a mistake, but there wasn't. I only put it up 2 days ago, so that is wonderful. Let's see what happens now. Please watch and let me know what you think.

Singing O'Canada at the Wall of Love

Blog post by Tina Winterlik © 2011

http://tinawinterlik.blogspot.com

"Shrewdawg" called this the Wall of Repentance, but I disagee with the name. We didn't do anything wrong, some very challenged people did some horrible thing, and I'm not apologizing for their terrible behavior, just as the George Moen, President of Blenz says in his video here.

But what I really love about this video is everyone singing O'Canada   http://tinawinterlik.blogspot.com/2011/06/blenz-coffee-president-george-moen.html

I call the wall the "Wall of Love"

Kindness Flag Project Inspired by Ingrid
Location: Vancouver Public Library
Time: ‎2:00PM Saturday, June 18th
From Ingrid Tamboline
 From Ingrid Tamboline,
To the amazing people who helped in more ways than I could possibly describe, THANK YOU! To Guy, Janice, Marie, Iman, Neil and the many others whose names I sadly cannot remember, thank you! Today I had a little idea and took a chance to see if anyone wanted to participate, and within minutes it exploded into a creative force. People WANTED to make something and and set in motion acts of creation to offset the senseless acts of destruction we experienced the other night. People shared the few paints, brushes and pens I had. They helped each other out, they collectively made flags with words and images of loving kindness. They were incredibly kind and generous to me. THIS is Vancouver! THIS is our city! Thank you, hooligans! Because of you, Vancouverites and visitors to our beautiful city have a common goal, and that is to transform anger, hostility and destruction into happiness, kindness and creation. You've reminded us of the importance to be kind. Thank you!

And once again, a million thank yous to everyone who participated and has helped or offered to help. This is your project, and it's wonderful!

Ingrid

The Kindness Flag Project

So glad we made the effort and walked downtown yesterday. (Something was telling me we had to go)  We were just going to look at the wall and add some little gold hearts with a heart shaped sponge and some gold paint.

Angel saw them making Kindness Flags and we made one too! It was really nice. It was a wonderful healing artistic expression of love for ourselves and the city.

Art Therapy- an awesome tool for when your grieving, and seriously we are going thru a type of grief. Shock, dismay, post traumatic stress, all these things we carry around as we watched that night, and as we still are seeing shocking video at the insane behavior by many people, our youth!

But it doesn't represent all youth or the people of Vancouver.

There are many fabulous kind people in this world and we have a choice, to chose to live in Love or Fear. Which do you chose?

By choosing love and participating yesterday we began our healing process. I created a little film from the photos I took of the wall and all the flags, and it really is a Beautiful Celebration of Kindness and Love and Peace

The Kindness Flag Project

The Kindness Flag Project
Let's Create love and peace and help the healing of our grand city.

Today Ingrid Tamboline decided she needed to do something, so she took a table and art supplies and sat outside of the Bay and gave people the chance to voice their love and support for the people of Vancouver.

Lets help her make it an even bigger show of kindness!

Come down and make a flag.
Make one at home and bring it down
If you want to bring supplies, Great!
Teachers - have your students make flags and put them up!

Post pictures of the beauty of love and your flags!

It is quite amazing to be standing among like minded people who just want love, peace and acceptance.

Lets show the world who we truly are!!!

The Wall of Love

http://tinawinterlik.blogspot.com

Last night we went down and took photos of the "Wall of Love".  Angel put little gold hearts on the wall - we said we were "Putting a lil' Love on the Wall"

Then some people were making little flags. So Angel made one too!

Art Therapy & The Teachable Moment

We all have a choice to live in LOVE OR FEAR!

Which do you choose?

We had been Downtown less than 2 hours
before the riots started.

We watched live footage on the news and
listened on twitter, in shock & traumatized by
terrible scenes of senseless violence.

We worried about loved ones who
were out working and watched
helplessly as beloved heritage
buildings were being looted
and burned.

Cars were burned.

Innocent people terrorized!

I wanted to show my child that while there
are "challenged people" that will do
terrible things, there are also many,
many good people in this world.

"Puttin an lil' Love on Wall" was very
therapeutic for me and for my 8 year
old daughter as it allowed the energy
surrounding the event to channeled
towards good.

It also allowed for the teachable
moment, so that she could comprehend
what had taken place a little better ."

Ingrid Tamboline was determined to come down to join a clean-up crew, but wound up conceiving a mini-flag-making project for passersby who want to make a more artistic statement. "I started finding some old rags and ripped them up into squares."
