It has definitely been a while. I have contemplated shutting down this blog, so much has changed since I started it. We can discuss that later but for now here is the reason I felt compelled to ACT!
One of the things I hear is a lot of talk but see very little ACTION! Yesterday I saw action. I witnessed a wonderful inspiring ceremony of de-colonization and a small step in the right direction.
I am not going to say much more please look at the photos and watch the video. Sorry it is lacking a lot of credits but I wanted to share it while it is fresh.

In honour of truth and reconciliation, the District partnered with
local Indigenous artists to bring one 44-foot Reconciliation Pole and
two Welcome Figures to the Education Centre. A collection of three
poles together is a national first for a public school.
Recognizing that the District is on the traditional unceded territory
of Indigenous land, we wanted to acknowledge the important role the
Indigenous culture plays by installing these three poles. Carved out of
300 to 500 year-old cedar logs, the poles are a reminder of the
District’s connection to the First peoples, the Musqueam nation whose
unceded lands the Education Centre resides as well as, the surrounding
nations of the Tsleil-Waututh and Squamish Coast Salish peoples and the
urban indigenous community.
On June 21, 2019, on National Indigenous Peoples Day, the District
will publicly unveil the Reconciliation Pole and two Welcome Figures.

So I took a break! I really needed it. We went to Mexico for 5 months. I called it my healing journey and my daughter's cultural journey. We had a great time. Well there were some bumps. There are always bumps.

So I am going to take it slow and easy. So proud to see everyone at the #ProtecttheInlet last week. I couldn't make it, I was staying out in Mission but I tweeted everything I could.
Check out the rainbow I saw on my way out to Mission last week. There was even a rainbow in my hair. Ha! Ha! Goofed up the selfie but it actually turned out.
Check out this beautiful eagle I saw the other day. I felt really blessed. He/She was up in the big tree looking down, watching over me. It was a powerful sign to me, they both are, rainbows-hope, eagles - ancestors watching over me.
Well I am going to keep this short and sweet. Hope all is well in your world. Sending out lots of love and light.
Take care of yourselves. If there is one thing I learned in the last year but especially last five months. Put the oxygen mask on yourself first. You can't help anyone unless you are healthy and happy. So that what we did. I went to a beautiful place and took care of myself and my kid and re-focused.
Time for that Empty Condo contest. Let's house people before cars okay.

10th Anniversary of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous
Peoples: Canada needs a legislative framework to fulfill the promise of
this vital human rights instrument

The United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples provides a crucial framework to achieve reconciliation. Such a human rights-‐based approach is essential to address the racism and discrimination that has caused such profound harm to Indigenous peoples in Canada and around the world. Violations include uprooting Indigenous peoples from their territories and resources, failure to honour Treaties, tearing Indigenous children from their families, and making Indigenous women, girls and two-‐ spirited people the targets of unimaginable violence.
The adoption of the UN Declaration ten years ago today – on September 13, 2007 – was a crucial victory in the evolution of international human rights law. This historic achievement was possible because Indigenous peoples persisted for more than two decades in advancing a strong and powerful vision of self-‐determination, decolonization and non-‐discrimination.
The adoption of the Declaration was also made possible because, by the end of this process, influential states including Canada had finally come to accept the necessity and urgency of a new relationship with Indigenous peoples.
The UN General Assembly has unanimously reaffirmed the Declaration on three separate occasions, calling for full implementation at national and international levels.
Fulfilling this commitment requires meaningful and lasting changes to eliminate discriminatory laws, policies and practices and to ensure Indigenous peoples make their own decisions about their lives and futures.
Yet, a decade after the adoption of the Declaration, Canada still lacks concrete and effective mechanisms to uphold its provisions. This is despite many positive statements from the current government committing to fully implement the Declaration.
Last month, the United Nations’ top anti-‐racism body, the UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, strongly supported Indigenous peoples in urging
Canada to adopt a legislative framework and national action plan to implement the UN Declaration.
A private members bill expected to come before the House of Commons this fall for second reading – Bill C-‐262 introduced by MP Romeo Saganash – contains elements of such a framework. This includes: repudiation of colonialism and doctrines of superiority; affirmation that the standards set out in the UN Declaration have application in Canadian law; and review and reform of federal legislation to ensure consistency with the minimum standards set out in the UN Declaration. In addition, the Bill requires that a national action plan be developed in partnership with Indigenous peoples.
By approaching implementation of the Declaration through a legislative framework, there is greater assurance that crucial progress made will not be undone by a future government. Our organizations and Nations call on the federal government to embrace and build on the key elements of implementation already set out in Bill C-‐262.
We appreciate that full implementation of the Declaration requires long-‐term commitment and collaboration. As the Truth and Reconciliation Commission repeatedly reminded us, “reconciliation is going to take hard work.”
This is the time to act. Public responses to the TRC’s Calls to Action demonstrate a profound desire among Canadians to build a just relationship between Indigenous peoples and non-‐Indigenous Canadians. As the TRC itself stated, the Declaration provides the framework for doing so. However, putting this framework into place requires more than fine words. It requires concrete, effective action.

accidents, sexual assaults, domestic disputes, drug busts, gun threats,
and human trafficking cases than in any year before. The surrounding
counties offer similar reports. But there is one essential difference
between Fort Berthold and the rest of North Dakota: The reservation’s
population has more than doubled with an influx of non-Indian oil
workers—over whom the tribe has little legal control.”

I have lots of beautiful women warrior heroes and I hope to do a video or film about them soon.

I have been talking about Tiny houses for years.We are going to be homeless..actual homeless at the end of the month. We have been relative homeless (it's where you live somewhere your not really wanted but have no where else to go) for years. Many many people live this way, (especially women, especially single moms) with family, friends, on couches, in precarious, often abusive, oppressing situations. It's not suppose to be this way.
How is your living situation? Are you realizing just how warped out the world has become. We need to take care of Mother Earth. Building pipelines through pristine lands is NOT the way. Poisoning the land with mining and so called "accidental disasters " like Mt. Polley(where no one/ no corporation is charged) is going to me the end of us. It is the destruction of our future and our children's children's future.
THIS WHY YOU NEED TO SUPPORT THE #TINYHOUSEWARRIORS! They are doing this for everyone!! For the future of the world. The pipeline will only make the Tar Sands grow. We have seen the climate change disasters this last week with Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Harvey.
