"The Grand Rapids LipDub Video was filmed May 22nd, with 5,000 people, and involved a major shutdown of downtown Grand Rapids, which was filled with marching bands, parades, weddings, motorcades, bridges on fire, and helicopter take offs. It is the largest and longest LipDub video, to date.
This video was created as an official response to the Newsweek article calling Grand Rapids a "dying city." We disagreed strongly, and wanted to create a video that encompasses the passion and energy we all feel is growing exponentially, in this great city. We felt Don McLean's "American Pie," a song about death, was in the end, triumphant and filled to the brim with life and hope." - Rob Bliss, Director & Executive Producer
*Note: The "NEW WORLD RECORD" designation refers to size and scope, not duration. Storyboards and concept art by Greg Oberle.

Sadly, I do not see any labor organizations’ endorsements? Were they included or did they decline for lack of funding or affiliation? Typically said and named “lawyers” and “chamber/s of commerce” undermine workers and working family’s interests, perhaps despite Mr. McLeans message, whatever that may be? The effort seems considerably deserving of notice, like workers, so I’m puzzled as to why they seem excluded, except for some public safety employees? Nevertheless, if the contributors are somehow justifying its expenses as tax exempt expenses somehow non-taxable for the sake of its organizations, notwithstanding Grand Rapids, I would be glad to hear its opinions in a formal hearing explaining it? The laborers who built and maintain the many structures used in the video with life, blood, sweat, and tears, would surely be proud to see it again glorified. Sewers, roads, bridges, ports, power grids and buildings all need designers and laborers, yet to be appreciated seemingly. As folk guitarist, however, I thank you for the video effort and forgive you and wish you the best. I wanted to share it on facebook until I noticed there’s virtually NO labor organization involvement, and I know chambers waste much time and money against laborers over and over through most republicans, especially at state levels; I don’t understand the lack of appreciation.
