I truthfully did not follow the campaigns at all. I have been here in Mexico and have no TV access and well I just didn't follow it on the internet either. I felt powerless and so I just let it all happen and waited for the results.

I know people were sick and tired of all the campaigning at the end. You could hear it loud and clear on Facebook and Twitter.

I had read that Obama would win by a small margin, at one point it looked like Romney was going to win when watching the stats, but then the next minute Obama was ahead and then he won.

On Twitter he tweeted this

It became the most tweeted tweet EVER!


While watching and waiting for Obama's acceptance speech on my computer (which took forever) in my room in Zipolite, way down south in Oaxaca Mexico( which is pretty amazing when you think of it) http://www.cnn.com/video/?/video/cvplive/cvpstream2  I followed my Facebook.

The only war on drugs we should have is the on the pharmaceutical companies but that's another whole battle. Someone told the most money in the world is spent on weapons the 2nd is on pharmaceuticals. Obviously it's time people woke up and changed to a more holistic and organic lifestyle of more indigenous traditions.

I was SUPER HAPPY to see that Maryland, Maine and Washington APPROVED EQUAL MARRIAGE. Wow!! that took a long time, United States your finally getting there.

I don't know much about Romney but I saw a few things that lead me to believe are views are completely opposite on many issues, but I was on the fence for Obama (not like a get any choice in this matter except to express my views)  because I heard he's in favor of the Enbridge Pipeline!

 That upsets me and I sure hope that he's not!! and  I hope that he'll rethink all that because the Enbridge Pipeline is the stupidest, most detrimental proposal ever. I won't even get started on that. You can read some of my posts on it if you want.

When I saw this I tweeted "Omgosh, how sad! The world is not laughing at you it's clapping for you!" 

I was so tired waiting for Obama's speech. It was fun seeing all the happy people while watching CNN Live http://www.cnn.com/video/?/video/cvplive/cvpstream2  but it was after 12am in Mexico and I was exhausted.

Obama just took stage to Stevie Wonder's "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" 

Which was sort of cool. All the music was really good and that was nice but like I said long.

I guess because he wait a long time for Romney to concede and then whatever phone calls he had to make and who knows but finally he made his speech and it was good.

I like that he said the that after 10 years of war it was almost over. Thank God! 

And how he really tried to reach out to the average working person and about the health care system is working, it sounds like that with the changes about and these things that are happening the US is progressing and healing again.  So kudos to Obama for a good speech and Kudos to the people for voting to legalize marijuana and legalize equal marriage. 

Like I said I hope that Obama keeps "green" and that the US really tries to stop using oil and look for alternatives. 

I hope the whole world works on that for that matter.

Do you know what 420 is? 420 refers to when someone smokes marijuana. I heard it started as people that would get together at 4:20 everyday to smoke and it grew from there. Now today is International Cannibis Day. April 20th  which is 4/20. I didn't even know this was happening but saw something about it yesterday and wanted to share my thoughts.

Did you hear how Stephen Harper was all down on the fact that Latin America countries want to legalize drugs. I support Mexico and these countries 100%.  It's not their "War On Drugs" and that whole mentally and wording is strongly responsible for the war that has developed down there.

When drug law policies treat people in a humane way instead of criminals that is the only way our culture can move forward.

Marijuana should be used as the medicine it is. Even the coca leaf is a medicine but not in the form that people change it to. In South America, the Kogis use it in it's natural form, placing a small leaf on the tongue  before bed and meditating as the Shaman instructs them. They do this when they have a dilemma- stress- to help them find clarity.

This culture of ours is too stressed. And before I start rambling let me point out that when alcohol was illegal there were all sorts of the same crap going on with Al Capone and other gangsters killing all sorts of innocent people. This all has to STOP!!

Anyways, I think it's cool that today lots of people will be downtown celebrating. It's a beautiful sunny day for it. but no Stephen Harper would rather pollute us with the pipeline that let a person chill out and medicate themselves with a natural substance that God put on this earth to use responsibly. This is obvious with that Omnibus Crime Bill he pushed thru, obviously ignoring what the people of Canada truly want and support.

I know it will be legalized one day...when though...how many people have to die before this all ends. The money saved could be used for rehabs and education.

A group of US representatives plan to introduce legislation that will legalize marijuana and allow states to legislate its use, pro-marijuana groups said Wednesday.

The legislation would limit the federal government's role in marijuana enforcement to cross-border or inter-state smuggling, and allow people to legally grow, use or sell marijuana in states where it is legal. Read more here.

My friend Sean just shared this with me. He send me an email titled "hmmm"  with a link

and I wrote back this:

Totally cool, but now why can't we just be growing it in our gardens like other herbs, over the summer, we gather our supply, save it for the winter, it could be sold a farmers markets, ...that's the way it should be.

We are getting there, slowing, backwardly. Thanks so much for the lead.

I have been saying for such a long time that marijuana needs to be legalized and treated as a medicine. A true medicine, from the earth, not some weird chemical the pharmacueticals invent to make themselves rich and prey upon the uniformed, pain ridden souls who have no other resources. 

I'm not going to go into all my reasons why we need to legalize it, but I'll just add these links here and ask you all to seriously think about it.

The Nova Scotia government has been ordered to sponsor the medical marijuana growing operation of a woman who says she's too poor to pay for the equipment herself.

The Department of Community Services must pay a one-time setup cost of $2,500 and $100 every three months for supplies, an appeal board ruled.

The Income Assistance Appeals Board concluded that the Amherst woman's need for marijuana was real, and since she has no other means, the department should assist her rather than pay for her pot.

The board stated that her request seems quite reasonable in comparison to what the department pays for other medications.

The whole energy about it is negative and it has attracted and created so much negative energy that thousands of people have died. But now people are waking up and they understand that this whole "idea" is bad, negative and it needs to be gotten rid of.

I thought for sure we could get this to 750,000 over the weekend but it didn't happen. Come on people, speak up. Tell the politicians what you want. They are afraid of you!! they are afraid of upsetting the balance, but there is no balance right now. There is kaos and it must end. Educate yourself and your child, your friends, neighbours, facebook friends, twitter peeps. Together we can turn this around.

Just like in prohibition times, we need to make a stand here and say STOP! Enough is enough, your way does not work. There is a better way. I personally think alcohol is much worse than marijuana but anything abused is bad.

Decriminalization in Europe has proven successful in lowering the rates of drug use.  Portugal’s decriminalization of narcotics in 2001 has resulted in it now having the lowest use of narcotic drugs in the European Union.  The Green Party is recommending that following the UN Conference, the Canadian government should launch a public consultation on the decriminalization of illicit drugs, considering the current high costs of the law enforcement effort.
