Blogger, Artist, Social Media, Web Designer, Photographer- I blog about nouns-people, places and things, even when it's negative I try to put a positive spin on it. @tinawinterlikfb https://tinawinterlik.blogspot.com
I am praying you will be the leaders that we hope you are and step up and end this violence against the salmon, this crime against humanity and nature...
I have worked in the farming/processing industries. It's dark. It's full of disease and it's not natural. This beautiful land and water that we live on is in dire jeopardy. The salmon that have sustained all the living beings here since forever are being wiped out and there is just no time to waste.
I can't put into words everything I have learned in recent years especially this past year, as I made my own attempts at reconciling but I can tell you, there is no time to waste, so much damage has been done, I pray it is not irreversible.
I want my child to grow up in a better world but it's so frightening right now with the salmon being wiped out ...everything here depends on them...it's not to be taken lightly..please I know you see the bigger picture...this is an emergency!! It's as dire as a earthquake, hurricane or tsunami...only so many are blind and ignorant they have no clue what is about to hit them.
Please YOU MUST STOP the salmon farming TODAY!
Thank you for your time, hard work and efforts, it is appreciated and I feel so hopeful that Clark and Harper are gone but we have no time to lose...we are not going to get a second chance. We are counting on you to turn this disaster around. There's no time to waste. You've seen the videos...HELP!!
Salmon are Sacred.
Save Our Wild Salmon. Pray hard and Protect them.
Our children's lives depend on it.
Attention!! Please write John Horgan and Andrew Weaver, and tell them
not to renew salmon farms licenses of occupation. Thank You!

I just wanted to cry after watching this. Salmon, beautiful beautiful salmon, that have given their lives for thousands of years to help whales, humans, bears, cedar trees, wolves, herring, ...everything they help everything survive. They are the ABUNDANCE that we have taken for granted an LOOK at the evil here. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?
"September 23 & 24, 2017, PUPPETS FOR PEACE, in Victoria, B.C.
celebrates the UN International Day of Peace with a nonpartisan
inter-generational community festival. This year we focus on North
America’s first puppeteers with The Roy Henry Vickers PEACE DANCER
Project. Our full festival includes a cultural mosaic of artistic
activities united through the art of the puppet."
This is what Tim wrote when I inquired about sharing the info.

Hi Tina, please share and spread the word as much as possible. I am better being in contact via timgosley@telus.net
... yes the Indiegogo is finished but I thought it defined the project well. If you know folks wanting to donate we still could use a couple of thousand. However we have enough to do the project in some form and I think it will be pretty neat. Thank you for your interest. I'll check out your blog when I'm on a better computer. Tim

Little Solar Eclipse Crescents all over my dress and on my leg. How cool is that!
So here are my photos. My kid took a ton too and I will make those into a video later. ..
We had so much fun.

Had a great time. This is the type of thing where you say..."ohhhhh I want to do it again."
I had so many artsy ideas after and I blew it. Should have projected the little eclipses on people's clothes and took photos of them...wouldn't that be a keepsake.
And I had lots of other ideas but needed black paper and chalk.. Many seemed lost in big lineups..sorry that happened to you..but I knew weeks, months ago there were no glasses.
So that's why I researched the binocular, monocular idea. I should have researched the leaf thing more...that was so fun but the geese liked that tree and there's lots of goose poop in my crescents.
Still lots of fun. Lots of photos to edit.. I used 3 cameras and I have all Angel's too. She took 300 photos..that really surprised me...making a video with that... and with all these...it will take a bit so stay tuned.
I was at Langara College today. Had to drop of a few things and they
happened to be having the orientation for the Reconciliation carving
program. These are the sacred panels we created.
Our program brought together Indigenous and Non-Indigenous and we worked together to design and create them.
One panel honors the children who did not return from the Residential
schools and one panel honors the Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women.
There is a new program starting this fall and I ask you to inquire and
share the info and encourage people to participate so we can all "move
forward in a good way!"
Space available for September 2017!
Langara's Aboriginal Studies Department, in partnership with the Fine Arts Department, offers a unique Aboriginal carving series that is open to all students.
Students will complete two carving courses and an applied research
course. Under the supervision of acclaimed Coast Salish artist Aaron Nelson-Moody, students
will collaborate on the creation of two reconciliation house boards.
Once complete, the house boards will become part of a planned outdoor
Aboriginal space on Langara’s campus. Langara Film Arts students will
document the carving process. Read more
There is so much work to be done and it starts with you and me. We must
each take responsibility and help heal the wounds and create a better
world for our children and children's children.
I saw a disturbing post about the world being on the brink of nuclear war and Nazi's in the streets....sound familiar...only this wasn't in the past ...it's right now...this weekend.
STOP!! Right now....
Look at the state of the world and think well about the future you want for yourself, your families and those you love.
Do not let history repeat. Practice love. Teach Love! Love yourself, your family, your neighbour, love the differences. Never embrace hate, greed or ignorance or this will be our fate. Watch this film from 1952.. it was made 10 years before I was born. I saw it in grade 5. It was shocking and imprinted deeply...but it would take years before I realized it.
Warning: violence - not suitable for young children or those triggered by violence.

NEWS RELEASE
KM TMX: Crude Awakening
(Coast Salish Territory/Vancouver, BC – August 11, 2017) The Union of BC Indian Chiefs (UBCIC) remains steadfast in its ongoing opposition to Kinder Morgan’s Trans Mountain Expansion Project (TMX). Grand Chief Stewart Phillip, UBCIC President, stated, “Though we welcome the BC Government’s commitment to defending the coasts and waterways, and commend BC’s resolve to ensure the Province meets its constitutionally-enshrined, judicially-recognized obligations to consult Indigenous Peoples, for all future generations, we must continue the true fight against increasingly rapid climate change. These devastating mega-projects must obtain the free, prior and informed consent of all affected Indigenous Peoples. Period.” As defined by the United Nations’ Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and the American Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, Indigenous Nations retain the right to provide or withhold their free, prior and informed consent regarding developments on their respective territories. The vast majority of BC remains the unceded territory of Indigenous Nations who remain committed to protecting their inherent rights, their respective cultural beliefs, their families and the natural environment for the benefit of future generations. The UBCIC firmly believes TMX represents an unacceptable and egregious risk to the clean and healthy ecosystems many Indigenous Peoples and British Columbians’ livelihoods depend upon and directly conflicts with the Trudeau Government’s Paris Agreement commitments to avoid dangerous climate change by limiting global warming to well below 2°C. Since 2011, the UBCIC has consistently opposed the TMX project, with Grand Chief Stewart Phillip being arrested in November 2014 to protest TMX’s exploration of Burnaby Mountain. Grand Chief Stewart Phillip declared “As long as any Canadian or Provincial government permits environmentally destructive projects that places our communities, families and unceded territories at risk, our Nations and communities will exercise our inherent rights and responsibilities to resist within the courts, in the streets and most certainly, on the land itself.” 21,561 people have signed the Coast Protectors’ pledge: "With our voice, in the courts or the streets, on the water or the land. Whatever it takes, we will stop the Kinder Morgan pipeline expansion." http://www.coastprotectors.ca/ Media inquiries: Grand Chief Stewart Phillip, Union of BC Indian Chiefs Phone: (604) 684-0231 or ubcic@ubcic.bc.ca This release is online at http://www.ubcic.bc.ca/kmtmxcrudeawakening
Closing Ceremonies July 30 2017
It was a beautiful day, the dancing, drumming, protocols, teachings, regalia and so much more. I loved every minute of it, but I got to much sun.
Here are my photos & videos of the day.
Thank you to everyone for such a wonderful celebration of the Drum Is Calling Festival of Canda150Plus.
Putting a positive spin on a arbitrary number and recognizing the the unceded territories of the Squamish, Musqueam and Tsleil-watuth has been here for 15,000 + years.
For recognizing the many other beautiful Nations in song, dance and traditions. I was honored to attend and document today.
I was honored to witness this event and I will share it and help share it's positive message in a way of moving forward by acknowledging the darkness of the Residential schools and it's legacy as well as the Missing and Murdered women and girls but trying to focus on the positive.
To help educate and enlighten those who have open hearts and minds, especially those of the children. . I hold my hands up to you. To all my relations. O'Siem
