How Do They Sleep

๐Ÿ›Œ "How Do They Sleep?" — While the Rest of Us Are Left Out in the Cold

$707,500.
That’s what the Chief Administrative Officer of Metro Vancouver made last year.
That’s more than 3 times what the Premier of British Columbia earns.
While thousands of us go to bed hungry — or worse, don’t have a bed at all.

Since COVID, homelessness has worsened across BC.
The fentanyl crisis has stolen over 16,000 lives.
The rental market is a disaster — $3,000/month for a modest 2-bedroom.
And countless working families now rely on food banks just to survive.

Meanwhile, our so-called "public servants" at Metro Vancouver are living like royalty:

  • $300K+ salaries for mayors.
  • A $707,500 payday for one bureaucrat.
  • Perks, stipends, and overlapping payments for board meetings, travel, and bonuses.

All while people live in squalid SROs, sleep in tents, couch surf, or die quietly in alleyways.
How do they sleep?
Very well, apparently.

๐Ÿ’ญ But We’re Here to Invade Their Dreams.

This is our collective alarm clock. It’s time to:

  • Demand transparency.
  • Cap public compensation.
  • Redirect resources where they’re needed most — to housing, mental health, detox, and dignity.

❓Reflective Questions

  1. How is it justifiable for public employees to earn $700,000/year while families can’t afford diapers or rent?
  2. What does it say about our system when mayors make more than the Prime Minister of Canada?
  3. Why are working families going to food banks, while unelected bureaucrats live like executives?
  4. If you're not outraged yet — what will it take?
  5. What would our cities look like if those salaries were reinvested into tiny homes, food programs, or treatment centers?

✅ Solutions and Actions We Can Take Now

๐Ÿ”น Legislate a Cap on Public Salaries
No municipal or board member should earn more than a BC cabinet minister (~$183K).
๐Ÿ—ณ Ask your MLA to introduce or support this legislation.

๐Ÿ”น Freeze Rent Increases & Build Real Affordable Housing
Stop luxury developments and redirect zoning for deeply affordable, publicly owned housing.
๐Ÿ˜ Support groups demanding non-profit, co-op, and Indigenous-led housing.

๐Ÿ”น Audit All Public Salaries and Contracts
Where is the money going? Who approved these raises?
๐Ÿงพ Demand independent audits and make the reports public.

๐Ÿ”น Pressure Local Media and Speak Out
Use social media, blogs, letters to the editor — keep the spotlight on injustice.
๐Ÿ“ฃ Share this post. Name the numbers. Ask the hard questions.

๐Ÿ”น Support People, Not Empires
Donate to grassroots, not bloated charities with CEOs making 6 figures.
๐Ÿฝ Volunteer with mutual aid. Invest in community kitchens, not corporate pipelines.

๐Ÿ”น Organize Peaceful Action
City halls, board meetings, and media events — make our presence felt.
๐Ÿ‘ฃ If we show up in numbers, they’ll be forced to listen.

✊ Public service must mean service, not self-enrichment.

If they won’t feel our pain, we’ll make sure they hear our voices.
Loud. Clear. And unforgettable.

Open Letter to Greedy Landlords and Property Managers

Open Letter to Greedy Landlords and Property Managers

How do you sleep at night?

Seriously — do you ever stop to think about the people whose lives you’re crushing under your boots of greed? Do you have any idea what it feels like to work your whole life, pay your taxes, raise kids, and still not be able to afford a roof over your head in the city you call home?

What if it were your child?
Imagine them working full-time, commuting 1.5 hours each way, paying over $1,000 a month just to share a room — not an apartment, not a suite, a room. How does that sit with you? Do you still think it’s just “market value”? Or is it finally hitting you — this is exploitation.

What if it were your parents — seniors who gave decades of labour, only to be forced into homelessness, living in vehicles, shelters, or in fear every day because you raised the rent again?

Do you think you’re untouchable?
That your shiny car, designer suit, and fancy friends will protect you forever?

Well, here's a warning: people are watching.
We’re documenting.
We’re organizing.
And we’re not staying silent anymore.

Your collusion, rent-gouging, and illegal price-fixing?
It’s criminal. And it's being reported.

You might have slipped through the cracks before, but those days are ending. The Competition Bureau is on alert. Communities are talking. And we’re fighting back.

We will form our own networks.
We will build social media coalitions.
We will name names.
We will shine light on every dark corner of this rigged system.

And yes, we’re calling on ethical hackers too — the ones who believe in justice, transparency, and human dignity — because you built this empire off of suffering.

Vancouver was never meant to be like this.
We remember the city where neighbors helped each other, where artists, seniors, youth, and workers could afford to live.

You turned it into a playground for the ultra-rich, and a war zone for everyone else.

If your dreams are haunted by the man digging through trash for cans just to pay rent — good. They should be. That’s your doing. That’s your legacy.

Change now. Lower your rents. Stop the greed. Return to humanity.
Because if you don’t, justice is coming — and it won’t be quiet.

Sincerely,
The People You’ve Pushed Too Far

Quieting the Canaries –

Quieting the Canaries – A Message from My American Friend

The other day, my American friend shared something powerful on their social media page. It was written by a Zen priest who’s been meditating for over 50 years, reflecting on what’s happening in the U.S. right now. The language was intense—almost poetic—but also very dense and American. So I decided to break it down in a way that makes sense to Canadians like me.

Here’s what I took away from it:

We’re Living in Overwhelming Times

The author starts by saying that today’s world feels like staring straight into the sun. It’s disorienting and destabilizing. For someone who has trained their mind through decades of meditation, even they are struggling to make sense of what’s happening.

A Powerful Group is Controlling the Narrative

There’s a group of extremely wealthy people—billionaires and executives—who are using their money and influence to:

  • Fund extreme religious and anti-democratic political movements (like Christian nationalism)
  • Avoid taking responsibility for the harmful impacts of technology (like addictive social media)
  • Focus only on increasing their profits, even if it tears society apart

These people don’t want things to evolve. They want to freeze the system in place, where they stay rich and powerful, and the rest of us just deal with the consequences.

The U.S. Budget: Designed for the Rich

The current U.S. budget—put forward by the Republican administration—is essentially a huge favour to the ultra-wealthy. It gives them massive tax breaks while:

  • Piling on national debt (over $9 trillion!)
  • Cutting programs that help everyday people: like public health, climate science, and support for seniors

Here’s how big $1 trillion is:

  • 1,000 seconds = about 16 minutes
  • 1 trillion seconds = 32,000 years
  • 1,000 pennies = fits in a jar
  • 1 trillion pennies = fills a football field

This debt is being used as a reason to defund important things that serve the public. Meanwhile, billionaires walk away with even more.

What Message Are They Sending?

This powerful elite is sending a clear signal:

"We only care about ourselves. Everything else—health care, the planet, equality, future generations—doesn’t matter."

They are refusing to:

  • Deal with the climate crisis
  • Protect LGBTQ+ people and people of colour
  • Fund science, education, or global aid
  • Take any responsibility for the harm they’ve caused

Even the Politicians Have Given Up

Many elected officials, especially Republicans, are no longer doing their jobs. They’re just going along with whatever the rich and powerful want. The writer says they’re just as guilty as the mob that stormed the U.S. Capitol on January 6th, because they’ve abandoned their duty to protect democracy.

And the Media? Mostly Distracting Us

The media often gives us false hope or distracts us with drama. We celebrate court rulings that don't really change anything, and pretend the system is still working. But this kind of denial has led to disaster before—in wars like Vietnam and Iraq, where people believed the government’s version of reality until it was too late.

So What Needs to Change?

The writer says we need big, real reforms like:

  • Universal or mandatory voting (so everyone’s voice counts)
  • Banning corporate money from politics
  • Fully public-funded elections

Until we do that, nothing will change. We’ll just keep watching the destruction unfold while talking quietly among ourselves.

The Final Image: Quieting the Canaries

The metaphor at the end really stuck with me. The writer compares us to pet canaries, chittering in our cages as the world falls apart. And then the cloth gets draped over the cage at night. The song goes silent. Not because we’re free—but because we’ve been silenced.

My Thoughts

As a Canadian, it’s easy to feel like this is just a U.S. problem. But we’d be naive to think the same forces aren’t at work here—corporate greed, media distractions, growing inequality, and political apathy. We need to wake up and find ways to resist, to support each other, and to demand better.

Thanks to my American friend for sharing. Sometimes, even uncomfortable truths can help light the way.

From Epstein to Aid: Why I’m Still Skeptical of Bill Gates—Even as He Calls Out Elon Musk”

By Tina Winterlik aka Zipolita

Intro: A Shift in Perspective?
I’ve never been a fan of Bill Gates. In fact, I’ve been openly critical of him for years. His connections to Jeffrey Epstein, his involvement in global vaccine policy, and the god-like reverence tech media gave him always rubbed me the wrong way. But when I saw him accuse Elon Musk of killing the world’s poorest children by cutting foreign aid through the dismantling of USAID—I had to take a second look.

Is this the same Gates who built a tech empire while the world around him grew more unequal? The same Gates who backed the Svalbard Global Seed Vault—sparking speculation about corporate control of the future food supply?

Yes. And maybe no. This moment feels different—but I’m not ready to forget everything that came before.

A Personal Memory: Seeing the Gates Mansion from Above
Back in the late 1990s, I was working for a mapping company. It was around the time I had to return to school after an injury—struggling with rent, student loans, and uncertain job prospects. One day, I scanned an aerial photo of Bill Gates’ home. I remember looking at that massive estate—this monument to wealth and tech power—and feeling something twist inside me. It wasn’t just envy. It was alienation. How could someone have that much, while people like me were barely holding on?

That image stuck with me. And it shaped my views every time I heard the name Gates.

Gates vs. Musk: A Public Feud with Global Stakes
Fast forward to 2025. Bill Gates is now blasting Elon Musk, accusing him of causing untold suffering by gutting the U.S. Agency for International Development through a project called DOGE. Gates told the Financial Times that medicine spoiled in warehouses, outbreaks of HIV and polio surged, and a hospital in Mozambique lost its HIV prevention program—all because of Musk’s misinformed decisions.

Gates’ words were sharp: “I’d love for him to go in and meet the children that have now been infected with HIV because he cut that money.”

He didn’t stop there. He pledged to donate 99% of his remaining fortune—over $100 billion—to global health, education, and development. A bold move, even for one of the richest men alive.

The Seed Vault: Saving Humanity—or Locking It Down?
This isn’t Gates’ first attempt to prepare for the future. Years ago, he helped fund the Svalbard Global Seed Vault in Norway—a frozen facility meant to protect the planet’s genetic crop diversity in case of disaster. It sounds noble, but it also raises questions.

Why were Monsanto and other biotech giants involved? Why is seed preservation happening in a corporate-controlled vault instead of Indigenous hands, farmers’ collectives, or public institutions?

I’ve always wondered: is this an insurance policy for humanity—or just for the elite?

Billionaire Philanthropy: Help or Harm?
Now Gates wants his legacy to be about solving global crises. He says he doesn’t want to “die rich.” That sounds good—but should we be applauding billionaires for finally returning wealth they accumulated through a broken system?

Can we trust the same people who helped build the world’s problems to fix them? Or is this all part of a long game—one that still keeps power in the same hands?

Final Thoughts: Eyes Open, Heart Guarded
I still don’t “like” Bill Gates. But I’m watching. I’m listening. If this really is a turning point—if his foundation truly works toward eradicating disease, ending poverty, and funding education—I’ll give credit where it’s due.

But I won’t forget that aerial photo, or the years of struggle so many of us have lived through while billionaires built digital kingdoms.

We deserve more than charity. We deserve justice.

Future Worth Fighting For: Beyond the Numbness and Survival Mode

Lately, it feels like the world is spiraling. People are exhausted, overwhelmed, and struggling to keep up with everything—from the cost of living to political chaos to the sheer weight of everyday survival. In Canada, we’re seeing it firsthand: a housing crisis, rising food insecurity, deepening inequality, and policies that prioritize appearances over human lives.

The recent freeze on supportive housing in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside is just one example of how disconnected leadership has become. In the middle of winter—when the cold is deadly, when people are already suffering—politicians have decided to pause projects that could save lives. Why? Because they want to force surrounding municipalities to step up. But in the meantime, people are left with nothing.

It’s not just Vancouver, though. Across Canada, homelessness is growing, while governments focus on short-term optics instead of long-term solutions. And the worst part? So many people have become numb to it. We walk past people sleeping on the street as if it’s normal. It’s not.

Why Are We Struggling to House and Feed People?

It’s a question that shouldn’t need asking. Canada is wealthy. We have land, resources, and knowledge. So why is it getting harder to meet our most basic human needs?

Governments prioritize big events like FIFA over social programs.

Housing has become a commodity instead of a right.

The cost of food skyrockets, but wages don’t keep up.

Newcomers arrive looking for safety and opportunity but are met with high rents and low support.

Community ties are fraying—people are too exhausted or afraid to engage.

We’re watching Canada transform before our eyes. The country we knew—where neighbors helped each other, where people had hope for the future—is slipping away. But that doesn’t mean we have to accept it.

A Different Future Is Possible

Despite all of this, I refuse to believe we’re beyond repair. There is a different way forward, but it requires a shift in values. Not just from politicians, but from all of us.

Imagine this:

Small, sustainable homes instead of endless luxury towers.

Local, fresh food—Coast Salish diets, community gardens, farmers' markets.

Kids growing up surrounded by art, music, and storytelling, learning from elders instead of being glued to screens.

A society where we care for each other—where we support single moms, help elders stay in their homes, and teach men and women to be healthier, kinder, and more empathetic.

A break from the endless cycle of media and internet addiction, reconnecting with the land and each other.

This isn’t a utopian dream. It’s what people lived for generations before profit and politics took over. It’s what Indigenous communities have always known. It’s what we could have again—if we fight for it.

We Can’t Afford to Stay Numb

I get it. People are tired. The world is overwhelming. But if we let numbness take over, we lose everything. This isn’t just about homelessness or FIFA or housing—it’s about the kind of society we want to live in.

If you feel helpless, start small:

Pay attention. Question the narratives being sold to us.

Support local initiatives that actually help people.

Speak out against policies that put profit over human lives.

Reconnect—with nature, with creativity, with real human connection.

The future is being shaped right now. If we don’t fight for something better, someone else will shape it for us. And if recent decisions tell us anything, it won’t be in our best interest.

What kind of Canada do you want to live in?

Let’s build it—before it’s too late.

Choose Love-Be a Good Neighbour!

I saw a disturbing post about the world being on the brink of nuclear war and Nazi's in the streets....sound familiar...only this wasn't in the past ...it's right now...this weekend.

STOP!! Right now....
Look at the state of the world and think well about the future you want for yourself, your families and those you love.

Do not let history repeat. Practice love. Teach Love! Love yourself, your family, your neighbour, love the differences. Never embrace hate, greed or ignorance or this will be our fate. Watch this film from 1952.. it was made 10 years before I was born. I saw it in grade 5. It was shocking and imprinted deeply...but it would take years before I realized it.

Warning: violence - not suitable for young children or those triggered by violence.

Love, love, love
Love, love, love
Love, love, love

There's nothing you can do that can't be done
Nothing you can sing that can't be sung
Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game

Nothing you can do but you can learn how to be you in time
It's easy

All you need is love
All you need is love
All you need is love, love
Love is all you need

Love, love, love
Love, love, love
Love, love, love

All you need is love
All you need is love
All you need is love, love
Love is all you need

Nothing you can know that isn't known
Nothing you can see that isn't shown
Nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be
It's easy

Save the Peace River Poem

thoughts of a fire keeper listening to heavy equipment preparing to dam the Peace River
listen to the beat
of their windego drum
pounding iron into the river
injecting consumerism
into our Mother's blood
as if they could ever addict her
to her own self-destruction
the way they've addicted us

selling us a dam
that no damn world
could ever need
to feed us more electronic distraction
more disconnection
ramming their ego rapist erections
down our throats

selling us money they say
we've gotta have
arbitrary portraits of genocidal heroes
so we can buy factoried souls
reduced to supermarket meat
when we used to have bison here
selling us fear and oranges
off a boatload
from some far off country
when we have the soil
beneath our feet
to feed ourselves

and telling us if we want
our children's bellies to be full
we have to climb up in their beasts
and beat the windego drum
cannibalize our own blood
and the future of generations to come
leave them earthquakes and drought
with the never ending flood
of the greed we're now
addicted to

while our Mother cries out no!

no more
you cannot make her a whore
it isn't about how much
you're willing to offer
in dollars and in cents
the answer is no
this river wants to flow
no more bondage
with your dams

only offering humility, and respect
then she will give
and give and give again
and wrap us in the peace we crave
to hear the drums of our own hearts
to eat the food
we grow ourselves
and to bring the bison home
for our generations yet to come

we say no more

no more dancing to the sound
of the industrial windego drum

and with this sacred fire
like Saaya we'll turn back the beast
and let the river of our ancestors' love
not be stopped here
with the insatiable greed
of our addicted selves
but let it flow
with abundance to our young
they way our Mother
has always nurtured us

Wolverine's Open Letter -TIME FOR TRUTH & JUSTICE!!

Secwepemc Elder Wolverine

WOLVERINE'S OPEN LETTER TO PM TRUDEAU

The Right Honourable Justin Trudeau
Office of the Prime Minister
80 Wellington Street
Ottawa, ON K1A 0A2

The Honourable Jody Wilson
House of Commons
Ottawa, ON K1A 0A6
December 30, 2015

Dear Mr. Trudeau,
My name is Wolverine. I am also known as William Jones Ignace. I am an 83-year old father, grandfather and great grandfather, and an Elder of the Secwepemc nation in what is called British Columbia. I am a farmer. This past summer I cultivated 8 acres of organic food to nourish the people in my nation and other nations as well. I am a long time defender of the inherent jurisdiction of Indigenous peoples to steward our traditional homelands.

Today I am writing to you to request that you initiate a federal public inquiry into the events surrounding the month long standoff at Ts'Peten (Gustafsen Lake), British Columbia in 1995, an event which cast a deep shadow on the relationship between the Canadian government and Indigenous nations, which to this day has not been adequately investigated.

In 1995, after a long history of peaceful attempts to have Secwepemc sovereignty respected, Indigenous people from the Secewpemc nation and their supporters took a stand on sacred Sundance lands at Ts'Peten, aka Gustafsen Lake. The incident began after a local white rancher, Lyle James began demanding that the sacred Secwepemc Sundance Camp leave land to which he claimed ownership. Approximately 24 Sundancers set up camp to defend Ts'Peten. I was one of those people.

Beginning in August 1995, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) surrounded the Ts'Peten Defenders. Over the next month police, politicians, and media escalated the situation to make the siege the most expensive and largest domestic military operation in Canada's history: armoured personnel carriers, .50 calibre machine guns, land mines, and an astonishing 77,000 rounds of ammunition were directed at the land defenders.

In the course of the standoff, RCMP shot at unarmed people and at people in negotiated no-shoot zones. RCMP Superintendent Murray Johnston expressed the belief that a resolution to the standoff would "require the killing" of the defenders, including myself. Although this thankfully did not come to be, the unjust and violent actions carried out against the Secwepemc people during the siege remains strong in our memories to this day.

Despite the twenty years that have passed since the Ts'Peten standoff, the core issues that so forcefully clashed against each other remain at the forefront of the hearts and minds of Indigenous people. That is our right to self-determination, autonomy and protection from the dispossession of our lands and territories. According to the Royal Proclamation of 1763, Aboriginal Title to land exists inherently and will continue to exist until it has been ceded by treaty with the Crown.

The land on which the Ts'Peten standoff occurred was, and remains to this day, unceded territory. The land at Ts'Peten was never handed over by the Secwepemc Nation to Canadian control through treaty or otherwise, and is therefore land that cannot have been sold to settlers by the Canadian or British Columbian governments. The use of Canadian paramilitary forces against the people of the Secwepemc nation asserting our inherent jurisdiction and title over our own territories therefore is a serious abrogation of the Nation to Nation relationship between the Canadian government and the Secwepemc Nation.

This abrogation has yet to be properly investigated, and remains one of the largest stains on relations between Indigenous nations and the Canadian state. A public federal inquiry is long overdue into the actions of the RCMP, the Canadian government and the provincial government of British Columbia.

In recent months, Mr. Trudeau, you have called for a renewed Nation to Nation relationship with Indigenous nations, promising a new era of recognition, rights, respect, cooperation and partnership, rooted in the principles of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. According to that Declaration, Indigenous peoples have the right to be safe from being forcibly removed from their lands and territories.

Even now, aggressive resource extraction and the destruction it inevitably brings regularly occurs on Indigenous lands without the consent of Indigenous peoples. Indigenous lands which, according to the very agreements that founded the nation of Canada, do not belong to Canada to be given away without the free prior and informed consent of the Indigenous people of those lands who never relinquished their rights. In order to build this Nation to Nation relationship, Indigenous peoples must know that they can continue to pursue peaceful processes for protecting their sovereignty, without the threat of state sanctioned violence being used against them.

The use of police and RCMP intimidation and force as a method to settle land claims in favour of the Canadian national and provincial governments is antithetical to the creation of a healthy and just partnership between nations. If Indigenous people are prevented from asserting their rights to sovereignty, true reconciliation cannot occur.

The time has come to honour your commitment to Indigenous people, and to a reconciliation between our nations. An inquiry into the Ts'Peten standoff would demonstrate that the Canadian government is truly committed to a new era of respectful, Nation to Nation relationships in which the wrongs of the past are thoroughly understood and acknowledged, ensuring that threats, intimidation, defamation and force are never again used against Indigenous people in Canada.
With respect,
Wolverine, Wiliam Jones Ignace

http://www.realpeoplesmedia.org/news/2016/1/4/secwepemc-elder-wolverine-calls-for-public-inquiry-into-gustafsen-lake-standoff

Did you ever wonder what happened at Gustafsen Lake? I was just finishing 4 years of really hard education and started a new job that didn't last and then started another about this time and was moving...so I really did not follow it at all. And now I also know why, it was basically a media blackout.  I heard terrible things about what happened but we didn't have the internet like we do now and trying to get the truth or different opinions other than what we were fed in the newspapers and on TV.

I too have heard of Wolverine and he is regarded a great hero for taking a stand on this issue. Watching the video is really shocking and we never heard about the RCMP blowing up the truck and shooting at the people and killing the dog.  I only heard the details of the story recently and I believe that many more people really need to know the truth and to see how awful some people treat others and feel entitled to do it for some bizarre reason.

Let the RCMP evidence incriminate itself!! This is really shocking.

From Wikipedia
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gustafsen_Lake_Standoff
The Gustafsen Lake Standoff was a confrontation between the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and the Ts'peten Defenders in the interior of British Columbia, Canada, at Gustafsen Lake. The standoff began on August 18, 1995, and ended on September 17, 1995. The RCMP operation would end up being the most costly of its kind in Canadian history having involved 400 police officers and support from the Canadian Military (under Operation Wallaby). The predominantly indigenous occupiers believed that the privately owned ranch land on which they stood was both sacred space and part of a larger tract of unceded Shuswap territory.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police launched one of the largest police operations in Canadian history, including the deployment of four hundred tactical assault team members, five helicopters, two surveillance planes and nine Armoured Personnel Carriers. The RCMP kept journalists well away from the site and some reporters became uneasy that the only side of the story being told was that preferred by the police.[7] By the end of the 31-day standoff, police had fired up to 7,000 rounds of ammunition, disabled a supply pick-up with buried explosive, and killed a dog. One of the indigenous leaders claimed that at least one of the shooting incidents blamed on them in fact occurred when two APCs fired on one another when their view was obscured.[8] The operation was the largest paramilitary operation in British Columbia history and cost $5.5 million.[9]

THIS IS VERY INTERESTING!!
Shocking and Shameful for Canada....:( :(
Did you know any of this?? I didn't.

According to Janice Stewart, a magistrate justice of the U.S District Court in Oregon, "The Gustafsen Lake incident involved an organized group of native people rising up in their homeland against an occupation by the government of Canada of their sacred and unceded tribal land." She also asserted that "the Canadian government engaged in a smear and disinformation campaign to prevent the media from learning and publicizing the true extent and political nature of these events".

The Great Dictator's Speech-
http://www.charliechaplin.com/en/synopsis/articles/29-The-Great-Dictator-s-Speech

"Greed has poisoned men’s souls, has barricaded the world with hate, has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed. We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in. More than cleverness we need kindness and gentleness. Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost...."

"You, the people have the power - the power to create machines. The power to create happiness! You, the people, have the power to make this life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure."
