Life in the Jungle: Migrants Stories

It's difficult to see this and even harder to imagine living like this. This film gives a brief personal look  into these refugees and why they are risking their lives doing what they do.  I am praying for them all. This could be you or me! What would you do?

I just LOVE the Queen's website for the Diamond Jubilee, it's fabulous. So down-to-earth and I love the child-like drawing and feel of it. It's so welcoming and FUN!! and the Queen looks fabulous. I always thought my mom looked a lot like the Queen and so it seems even more special to me.

Way to Go Kate

I love her already. I saw this on the news last night, it made me cry. It's so touching, I just see this as such a beautiful moment in both their lives and all of ours. Bridging boundaries and barriers, Kate and William were fabulous this week. The showed they are real people and they looked like they had a really great time. I love that they visited Slave Lake. It was nice that they would show interest in such a terrible tragedy.

I hope to Vancouver soon, I would like to take Angel to see them.

Way to Go Kate!!

The Royal Wedding-Apr 29/2011

Blog post by Tina Winterlik © 2011

Well, I stayed up and it was definitely worth it. It really was beautiful, the crowds, Wow! so many people.

I tuned in just as William arrived and then everyone came along, and it really went quite fast, the longest part was waiting for the kiss.

After the ceremony it was 25 minutes, I nodded off for a bit but woke up in time to see all the people gathered in Trafalgar Square. What an AMAZING sight and the Royal Kiss! What a fairytale, it really was so lovely.

I am glad I watched history unfold today. They really make a nice couple and I wish them all the best. I'm so happy for everyone else, the Queen and all the little flowergirls and everyone that it all went so well for them and I hope they all had a fantastic time.

The one little flowergirl with the bright red cheeks, ohhhh, she was just so cute!

Yes, it was truly a once in a lifetime experience and I feel truly blessed to see so many people together in one spot and around the world to share in such fabulous energy.

Now if only we could take that same energy and apply it to climate change. Maybe Kate and William can help with that ;)

William- Prince of Wales

Blog post by Tina Winterlik © 2011

http://tinawinterlik.blogspot.com

So here we go Are you ready to get up at 3am to watch William get married.

Many of us have watched him grow up. We read the stories of how Diana took William and Harry them to McDonalds and let them pay so they could have "normal life experiences."

Diana loved her boys dearly and well we know she's watching now, smiling, as she sees her son marry a lovely woman.

From the sounds of it, Kate and William are as down to earth as possible considering the Royal lifestyle that William has grown up in and to which Kate will now have to deal with.

I like Kate, I think it's cool she graduated with honors in Art History and there were rumors said she wanted to pursue photography.  I sure hope she will be happy with William.

She's older than Diana, so that will hopefully make her more settled and the fact that this should marriage is just between her and William and there's no third party lurking in the background, hopefully it will be a happy marriage.

All relationships are tough and I can't imagine one with all the rules these guys have to contend with. But William seems like a level headed down to earth guy and considering Diana was his mom, I think he's pretty cool.

Hopefully he doesn't take after his dad too much, and now with the rulebook put on the back burner and things loosened up, there won't be any weirdness that surrounded Charles and Diana's wedding.

William and Kate's Wedding really is the Cinderella Story, but more of a Cinderella 2, where Kate is educated and knows what she wants and can hold her own.

I hope they have a really happy life.  I'm looking forward to the wedding. It's going to be exciting.

Especially because of Social Media, so we will see a ton of Youtube Videos, we are really going to see some great photos and videos. Yayy! Bring it on! See you later this morning.

From Wikipedia:

Prince William of Wales KG FRS (born William Arthur Philip Louis on 21 June 1982) is the elder son of Charles, Prince of Wales, and Diana, Princess of Wales, and third eldest grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

He was educated at four schools in the United Kingdom and obtained a degree from the University of St Andrews. He spent parts of a gap year in Chile, Belize, and countries in Africa.

In Autumn 2010, he completed his generic and special-to-type helicopter training and he is now at RAF Valley on No. 22 Squadron performing co-pilot duties on the Sea King search and rescue helicopter.

On 16 November 2010 it was announced by Clarence House that Prince William and his long-term girlfriend Kate Middleton were going to marry, and it was subsequently confirmed that the wedding ceremony would take place at 11 am on 29 April 2011 in Westminster Abbey, London.

Are you excited. I am

I haven't paid much attention to this, except today and just little things I've seen on the news lately. Of course the cool part will be her dress, and what her title will be and just watch this Cinderella wedding.

Having graduated 2 years before Kate was even born, little girls my age all dreamed of one day a prince would rescue us. Of course in those days it was absolutely impossible, but here it is happening, Amazing!

We try not to raise our little girls with those ideals now, and truthfully with all the crap they half to take from the Paparazzi and with what happened to Diana, who would want a life like that.

Still it's wonderful to watch them celebrate this special moment, how ever decadent it is. It's history in the making and we may never see a ceremony like this again or not for a very long time as it was 30 years ago since the last one...Yikes, where has the time gone.

They did make a super generous donation to Canada today, it's sort of odd, we gave them a gift and they gave it back, or so I understand, so that's very cool. http://ca.news.yahoo.com/canada-donates-to-coast-guard-auxiliary-as-wedding-gift-for-william--kate.html  Well on with the Pomp & Ceremony!!

From Wikipedia:
Catherine Elizabeth "Kate" Middleton (born 9 January 1982) is the fiancée of Prince William of Wales. Their wedding is to take place on 29 April 2011.

Middleton grew up in Chapel Row at Bucklebury, Berkshire, England,[1] and studied in Scotland at the University of St Andrews, where she met Prince William in 2001. They started a romantic relationship that continued until a break-up lasting for several months in 2007. However, they continued to be friends and rekindled their relationship later that year.

Since then, Middleton has attended many high-profile royal events. She has been admired for her fashion sense and has been placed on numerous "best dressed" lists. Once their relationship became public, Middleton received widespread media attention and there was much speculation that they would eventually marry. On 16 November 2010 the office of the Prince of Wales at Clarence House announced their engagement, with details announced one week later. Read more on Wikipedia

Title Upon Marriage
Unlike the majority of royal brides, and in contrast to most previous consorts-in-waiting for over 350 years, Middleton does not come from a royal or aristocratic background and therefore has no title of her own.[57][58]

Middleton's title upon marriage will depend upon the additional title, if any, which is bestowed upon William.

It is customary for royal men to receive a dukedom when they marry. It has been suggested that possible dukedoms for William after his marriage are Clarence, Cambridge, Sussex, Connaught, Kendal, Avondale, and Strathearn.[59] By convention, the wife of a son or grandson of the Sovereign is entitled to the style title or attribute of "Royal Highness".[60]

Therefore as the wife of a royal duke and prince, Middleton would assume the title of duchess and be known as "Her Royal Highness The Duchess of X".[61]

However, it has been suggested that William may prefer not to accept a dukedom.[61] If William does not receive a further title, then Middleton would, by convention, take her husband's first name (as with Princess Michael of Kent) and be known as "Her Royal Highness Princess William of Wales.[61]

The BBC's Nicholas Witchell has also raised the possibility that the Queen could follow the precedent which she set in February 1957, when she accorded her husband Prince Philip "the style and title of a Prince of the United Kingdom" in his own right.

This suggests that the Queen could, if she chose to do so, make Middleton a "Princess of the United Kingdom", in which case she would be known as "Her Royal Highness Princess Catherine".[61] Read more on Wikipedia
