The World Feels Like It’s on Fire—What Happens Next?
We’re living in a moment of deep crisis—economic collapse, extreme wealth inequality, corruption at every level, and billionaires playing god while everyday people struggle to afford food. It feels like something has to give. But history tells us that when things reach a boiling point, people either rise up and reshape the world or collapse into chaos and dictatorship.
The question is: Are we headed for a new Renaissance or just another fall?
The French Revolution: A Warning & A Lesson
Back in 1789, France was in shambles. The rich lived in luxury, the poor starved, and the government ignored every demand for reform. Sound familiar? The people finally snapped, storming the Bastille—a fortress that symbolized royal tyranny—and within months, the monarchy was crumbling.
But revolutions don’t always end well. The initial uprising led to progress—the abolition of feudalism, the Declaration of the Rights of Man, and the idea that governments should serve the people. But then came the Reign of Terror, where thousands were executed—including those who started the revolution. After years of bloodshed, France fell into the hands of Napoleon, a dictator who used the chaos to seize power.
How This Mirrors Today
Fast forward to 2025, and we see the same patterns:
✅ Massive wealth inequality—Billionaires hoard wealth while people struggle to survive.
✅ Political corruption—Leaders pretend to care but only protect their own interests.
✅ Censorship & media control—The rich and powerful manipulate what we see and hear.
✅ A population on the edge—People know the system is broken but don’t know how to fix it.
Trump (and others like him) are counting on this. He’s waiting for the system to collapse so he can present himself as the “strongman” who will “restore order.” That’s exactly what Napoleon did.
So what do we do?
The Renaissance Path: Fighting Back with Art & Action
The last time civilization was in a mess like this—after the Black Death and centuries of corruption—the Renaissance happened. People fought back with ideas, art, and unity. They tore down old systems and built something better.
Today’s battle isn’t about storming fortresses. The new Bastille is media, tech, and financial power. The real revolution is about:
⚡ Exposing corruption through independent journalism, art, and storytelling.
🎨 Using creativity to shift culture—music, film, books, and cartoons that wake people up.
🤝 Uniting across divisions—because the elites want us fighting each other instead of them.
🌱 Building real alternatives—co-ops, mutual aid, local food networks, and decentralized communities.
Hope isn’t passive—it’s something we build.
The Big Question: What Will We Do?
We’re at a crossroads. We can either repeat the mistakes of the past or learn from them and forge a better future. The first step is awareness—teaching people that history is repeating itself, that we have the power to shift it, and that art, unity, and action are the keys.
The billionaires running around with chainsaws (figuratively and literally) want us scared, divided, and powerless. They want us to believe there’s no hope. But if there’s one thing history shows us, it’s that when the people come together—they win.
The Renaissance started with art, science, and bold new ideas. So let’s start.

I visit Wikipedia and I edited out the Soviet stuff because many people - the younger generation do not know this history and I don't know it well myself, but the point is to adapt the info to our own corrupted, twisted, sad political, ecological environment and help people see what is happening.
We need to work fast here, with the election coming, we have to reach out to the kids. I call them kids because I am 53 and I am old to alot of you and you may not want to hear what I have to say. It is critical EVERYONE votes this time. We have to get rid of the old way of voting, that's the next step, but MOST IMPORTANT, Stephen Harper MUST NEVER be elected EVER EVER AGAIN! NEVER!
If we do not act, Canada will be destroyed as the one we know and love. It's beeing sliding down hill fast but we can turn it around. By going green and focusing on gardens- VICTORY GARDENS, composting, raising our own food and building shelters for everyone. No child should go hungry.
Anyways, here's what I got, this is from the book-wikipedia - the movie is a little different but we just need to re-write all the characters.
Okay here goes. Pigs Old Major-the inspiration that fuels the Rebellion in the book Napoleon-not much of a talker, but with a reputation for getting his own way. Napoleon is the main villain of Animal Farm Snowball -Napoleon's rival and original head of the farm after Jones' overthrow. Squealer-A small, white, fat porker who serves as Napoleon's right-trotter pig and minister of propaganda Minimus-A poetic pig who writes the second and third national anthems of Animal Farm after the singing of "Beasts of England" is banned. The Piglets -Hinted to be the children of Napoleon and are the first generation of animals subjugated to his idea of animal inequality. The young pigs- – Four pigs who complain about Napoleon's takeover of the farm but are quickly silenced and later executed Pinkeye – A minor pig who is mentioned only once; he is the pig that tastes Napoleon's food to make sure it is not poisoned, in response to rumours about an assassination attempt on Napoleon. Humans- Mr. Jones- The former owner of the farm, Jones is a very heavy drinker. The animals revolt against him after he drinks so much that he does not feed or take care of them. Mr Frederick -The tough owner of Pinchfield, a small but well-kept neighbouring farm, who briefly enters into an alliance with Napoleon. He is an allegory of Adolf Hitler Mr Pilkington – The easy-going but crafty and well-to-do owner of Foxwood, a large neighbouring farm overgrown with weeds Mr Whymper – A man hired by Napoleon to act as the liaison between Animal Farm and human society. At first he is used to acquire goods needed for the farm, such as dog biscuits and paraffin, but later he procures luxuries like alcohol for the pigs
Horses and donkeys Boxer – A loyal, kind, dedicated, hard working, and respectable cart-horse, although quite naive and gullible. Boxer does a large share of the physical labor on the farm, adhering to the simplistic belief that working harder will solve all the animal's problems. He has been described as "faithful and strong"; he believes any problem can be solved if he works harder. Mollie – A self-centered, self-indulgent and vain young white mare who quickly leaves for another farm after the revolution. Clover - A gentle, caring female horse, who shows concern especially for Boxer, who often pushes himself too hard. She seems to catch on to the sly tricks and schemes set up by Napoleon and Squealer. Benjamin – A donkey, one of the oldest, wisest animals on the farm, and one of the few who can read properly. He is skeptical, temperamental and cynical: his most frequent remark is, "Life will go on as it has always gone on—that is, badly.
Other animals Muriel – A wise old goat who is friends with all of the animals on the farm. She, like Benjamin and Snowball; is one of the few animals on the farm who can read.
The Puppies – Offspring of Jessie and Bluebell, taken away from them by Napoleon at birth and reared by Napoleon to be his security force.
Moses – The raven "was Mr. Jones's especial pet, was a spy and a tale-bearer, but he was also a clever talker." Initially following Mrs. Jones into exile, he reappears several years later and resumes his role of talking but not working. He regales Animal Farm's denizens with tales of a wondrous place beyond the clouds called "Sugarcandy Mountain, that happy country where we poor animals shall rest forever from our labours!"
The Sheep – They show limited understanding of the Animalism and the political atmosphere of the farm, yet nonetheless they blindly support Napoleon's ideals with vocal jingles during his speeches and meetings with Snowball.
The Hens – The hens are among the first to rebel against Napoleon.
The Cows – Their milk is stolen by the pigs, who learn to milk them. The milk is stirred into the pigs' mash every day, while the other animals are denied such luxuries.
The Cat – Never seen to carry out any work, the cat is absent for long periods, and is forgiven because her excuses are so convincing and she "purred so affectionately that it was impossible not to believe in her good intentions".[24] She has no interest in the politics of the farm, and the only time she is recorded as having participated in an election, she is found to have actually "voted on both sides".
The pigs Snowball, Napoleon, and Squealer adapt Old Major's ideas into "a complete system of thought", which they formally name Animalism,
Soon after, Napoleon and Squealer partake in activities associated with the humans (drinking alcohol, sleeping in beds, trading), which were explicitly prohibited by the Seven Commandments. Squealer is employed to alter the Seven Commandments to account for this humanisation
The original commandments are:
Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy. Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings, is a friend. No animal shall wear clothes. No animal shall sleep in a bed. No animal shall drink alcohol. No animal shall kill any other animal. All animals are equal.
Later, Napoleon and his pigs secretly revise some commandments to clear themselves of accusations of law-breaking. The changed commandments are as follows, with the changes bolded:
No animal shall sleep in a bed with sheets. No animal shall drink alcohol to excess. No animal shall kill any other animal without cause.
Eventually, these are replaced with the maxims, "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others", and "Four legs good, two legs better!" as the pigs become more human. This is an ironic twist to the original purpose of the Seven Commandments, which were supposed to keep order within Animal Farm by uniting the animals together against the humans and preventing animals from following the humans' evil habits.
Through the revision of the commandments, Orwell demonstrates how simply political dogma can be turned into malleable propaganda.
We need to put some good music in it...maybe this? Pink Floyd's 1977 record album Animals was partially inspired by Animal Farm.[67] It categorises people as pigs, dogs, or sheep.

Wow, haven't seen this since grade 10 so that would be about 1978. I remember we all gathered in the cafeteria. I think it was all the grade 9 & 10's. It had a big impact on me although at the time I wasn't into politics and really had no understanding of the original ideology behind it.
But just watching it tonight, it could play out so big and it makes so much sense if you to apply it to government and corporations or any organized entity.
Please watch, please share.It's not for very young, so please watch it first and then decide what is appropriate. For all the teachers out there I hope you will share this with the older children.
This next generation needs all the help it can get and watching something like this will help them understand things very clearly if they are visual like me.
My dear American Friends, I hear there's some scary shit happening right now with your debt and it is going to affect everyone but one thing I would like to say is "STAY POSITIVE!" and the next thing is "Be Grateful!" What I mean is and I mean this for everyone...
For a couple of days now, I have been trying not to stress. I have been down this road many times before, but lately I have been trying something different. In the mornings as I awoke, it was not that happy, Yay! What a gorgeous day...instead it has been gray and I have felt a little sad, and listless and worried...for a moment, then I remember and say to myself...It is a Beautiful Day! Thank you for...(and I begin to list all the things I am thankful for.) As I said I have done this for a few days now...and today I really had confirmation or you could call it a sign that my Positive Thoughts had been answered!.
Obviously the reason I am telling you this is that I have been worrying about money, the lack of and how to get more, worrying about the price of groceries, how everything is going up and how so many people need help and just lots of things...but I did my best to push those worries way way down and on top I piled Thank Yous!
It worked, I received something today that helped me, it was not really what I had prayed for or wished for or thought about but in an indirect way it addressed my problems and dissolved my worries for the moment.
It was not HUGE, but it was ENOUGH!
At the same time proved to me how powerful this method is. So in this time of restlessness and stress, do not do it, as much as the worries are nagging you...instead take a few moments in the morning as soon as you open your eyes and say...
It is a Beautiful Day. I am going to have the best day ever.Thank you God for my life, for my child, for my family,for my friends, for all the people who love me,for having food to eat, for having shelter,for having water to drink,for clean air...and on and on...then ask for guidance and say I will have enough for everything, I will have enough food, enough to pay the bills, enough to do the things I need to do. Everything is going to be fine.
In my prayer I said money is coming, everything is going to be okay and it did. Not alot but enough to help out for the moment. And that is what it is all about right. Living in this moment...because that is all we can do right.
Worrying and stressing will solve nothing, in fact it will only create more negative energy. Imagine the big black clouds of bad energy coming from all the stressed out people in the US right now. What if we could all think positive thoughts, and would that ever be aweome if we COULD channel it into something fabulous and wonderful.
So could you do me a favor, could you please try my little exercise. Teach it to your kids and BELIEVE! Believe in the Power of Positive Thought! Believe that there are higher powers that will help if you ask and are open and Believe.
It sure can not hurt now can it.
