Well we defeated a dictator but we have lot of work to do.
Canada is a mess and facing terrible issues from Climate Change, Dirty Pipelines and Tankers, Fracking and LNG, Poverty, Missing &; Murdered Women.

All this must stop.

We can make Canada a better place.  We can do it, the info is available. We can do it but we have to work together.

It's going to take all of us. Songs are great for uniting.

In 2015, Canada is barely recognizable.  Our environmental policies are an embarrassment, our economy is in the toilet and we are starting to look like our weird cousins down south.  And women are further behind than they were a decade ago. We crunched the numbers and the Conservatives did a smash up job in putting on the brakes and reversing hard over the advancement of Canadian women.

When Conservatives asked about important issues for women today, they took very specific notes and then shredded them along with the Long Gun Registry. So we would like to congratulate all of the women who survived domestic violence during the past 9 years, you did it with less resources than some of the women before you!

The conservative government just can’t come out and say how much they hate women, that would be weird. But they can, and they have, taken everything they could away from us!

SAVE CANADA-VOTE FOR CHANGE!!

WE ARE BETTER THAN THIS!!!
I don't think people realize how close we are to losing this beautiful country to a dark evil entity where nothing can save us except an all out rebellion. We don't want to there, EVER!!

Canada is a peaceful country! We had a wonderful repututation!  Are we going to let one man destroy it. Are we going to let him destroy everything our parents, grandparents and loved ones worked for. There are many things wrong here, I have been royally screwed over on a number of occassions but I have hope, I have faith that we can change things but we have to get rid of this darkness. He must be voted out. He should actually be charged and sent to prison for his crimes. Maybe...somehow...it could happen. No politicians should be able to get away with what he has done.


In the future when children tell their children about bullies, they can refer to all the tactics he used on the people of parliament and Canada.  Did we learn something Canada?


Did we get so comfortable believing in our Democracy that it's had been taken away!!
Stand UP!! VOTE!! People, women, men, children have been beaten and died for the right to vote, please I know it may be really hard for many of you to get to a polling station but please I BEG you, please our childrens lives are at stakes, our lives are at stake, VOTE FOR CHANGE!!

SAVE CANADA!! LET PEOPLE RESPECT AND LOVE US AGAIN!! LET US BE THE EXAMPLE!  LET US LEAD THE WORLD! 



We haven't travelled for 3 years now but for the 20 years before when we did people used to say how they loved Canada and heard such great things.

But then we started learning about terrible trade deals and changing the policies to allow people to come to our country and SO MANY SCANDALS, everything Harper did started destroying my beliefs about my country.

It wasn't democracy we were living in, it has started to feel like a dictatorship. And that is SO SCARY!!





BUT we still have a change, IF WE ALL WORK TOGETHER, we can TURN THINGS AROUND!!

Now is the time! WE MUST CHANGE THIS!! STOP HARPER!!

When we were in Mexico I was home schooling Angel. We were discussing politics and some of the terrible things that were happening to Canada. I visit Wikipedia and I edited out the Soviet stuff because many people - the younger generation do not know this history and I don't know it well myself, but the point is to adapt the info to our own corrupted, twisted, sad political, ecological environment and help people see what is happening.

We need to work fast here, with the election coming, we have to reach out to the kids. I call them kids because I am 53 and I am old to alot of you and you may not want to hear what I have to say. It is critical EVERYONE votes this time. We have to get rid of the old way of voting, that's the next step, but MOST IMPORTANT, Stephen Harper MUST NEVER be elected EVER EVER AGAIN! NEVER!

If we do not act, Canada will be destroyed as the one we know and love. It's beeing sliding down hill fast but we can turn it around. By going green and focusing on gardens- VICTORY GARDENS, composting, raising our own food and building shelters for everyone. No child should go hungry.

Anyways, here's what I got, this is from the book-wikipedia - the movie is a little different but we just need to re-write all the characters.

Pigs
Old Major-the inspiration that fuels the Rebellion in the book
Napoleon-not much of a talker, but with a reputation for getting his own way. Napoleon is the main villain of Animal Farm
Snowball -Napoleon's rival and original head of the farm after Jones' overthrow.
Squealer-A small, white, fat porker who serves as Napoleon's right-trotter pig and minister of propaganda
Minimus-A poetic pig who writes the second and third national anthems of Animal Farm after the singing of "Beasts of England" is banned.
The Piglets -Hinted to be the children of Napoleon and are the first generation of animals subjugated to his idea of animal inequality.
The young pigs- – Four pigs who complain about Napoleon's takeover of the farm but are quickly silenced and later executed
Pinkeye – A minor pig who is mentioned only once; he is the pig that tastes Napoleon's food to make sure it is not poisoned, in response to rumours about an assassination attempt on Napoleon.
Humans-
Mr. Jones- The former owner of the farm, Jones is a very heavy drinker. The animals revolt against him after he drinks so much that he does not feed or take care of them.
Mr Frederick -The tough owner of Pinchfield, a small but well-kept neighbouring farm, who briefly enters into an alliance with Napoleon. He is an allegory of Adolf Hitler
Mr Pilkington – The easy-going but crafty and well-to-do owner of Foxwood, a large neighbouring farm overgrown with weeds
Mr Whymper – A man hired by Napoleon to act as the liaison between Animal Farm and human society. At first he is used to acquire goods needed for the farm, such as dog biscuits and paraffin, but later he procures luxuries like alcohol for the pigs

Horses and donkeys
Boxer – A loyal, kind, dedicated, hard working, and respectable cart-horse, although quite naive and gullible. Boxer does a large share of the physical labor on the farm, adhering to the simplistic belief that working harder will solve all the animal's problems. He has been described as "faithful and strong"; he believes any problem can be solved if he works harder.
Mollie – A self-centered, self-indulgent and vain young white mare who quickly leaves for another farm after the revolution.
Clover - A gentle, caring female horse, who shows concern especially for Boxer, who often pushes himself too hard. She seems to catch on to the sly tricks and schemes set up by Napoleon and Squealer.
Benjamin – A donkey, one of the oldest, wisest animals on the farm, and one of the few who can read properly. He is skeptical, temperamental and cynical: his most frequent remark is, "Life will go on as it has always gone on—that is, badly.

Other animals
Muriel – A wise old goat who is friends with all of the animals on the farm. She, like Benjamin and Snowball; is one of the few animals on the farm who can read.

The Puppies – Offspring of Jessie and Bluebell, taken away from them by Napoleon at birth and reared by Napoleon to be his security force.

Moses – The raven "was Mr. Jones's especial pet, was a spy and a tale-bearer, but he was also a clever talker." Initially following Mrs. Jones into exile, he reappears several years later and resumes his role of talking but not working. He regales Animal Farm's denizens with tales of a wondrous place beyond the clouds called "Sugarcandy Mountain, that happy country where we poor animals shall rest forever from our labours!"

The Sheep – They show limited understanding of the Animalism and the political atmosphere of the farm, yet nonetheless they blindly support Napoleon's ideals with vocal jingles during his speeches and meetings with Snowball.

The Hens – The hens are among the first to rebel against Napoleon.

The Cows – Their milk is stolen by the pigs, who learn to milk them. The milk is stirred into the pigs' mash every day, while the other animals are denied such luxuries.

The Cat – Never seen to carry out any work, the cat is absent for long periods, and is forgiven because her excuses are so convincing and she "purred so affectionately that it was impossible not to believe in her good intentions".[24] She has no interest in the politics of the farm, and the only time she is recorded as having participated in an election, she is found to have actually "voted on both sides".

The pigs Snowball, Napoleon, and Squealer adapt Old Major's ideas into "a complete system of thought", which they formally name Animalism,

Soon after, Napoleon and Squealer partake in activities associated with the humans (drinking alcohol, sleeping in beds, trading), which were explicitly prohibited by the Seven Commandments. Squealer is employed to alter the Seven Commandments to account for this humanisation

The original commandments are:

    Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy.
    Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings, is a friend.
    No animal shall wear clothes.
    No animal shall sleep in a bed.
    No animal shall drink alcohol.
    No animal shall kill any other animal.
    All animals are equal.

Later, Napoleon and his pigs secretly revise some commandments to clear themselves of accusations of law-breaking. The changed commandments are as follows, with the changes bolded:

    No animal shall sleep in a bed with sheets.
    No animal shall drink alcohol to excess.
    No animal shall kill any other animal without cause.
Eventually, these are replaced with the maxims, "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others", and "Four legs good, two legs better!" as the pigs become more human. This is an ironic twist to the original purpose of the Seven Commandments, which were supposed to keep order within Animal Farm by uniting the animals together against the humans and preventing animals from following the humans' evil habits.

Through the revision of the commandments, Orwell demonstrates how simply political dogma can be turned into malleable propaganda.

We need to put some good music in it...maybe this?
Pink Floyd's 1977 record album Animals was partially inspired by Animal Farm.^[67] It categorises people as pigs, dogs, or sheep.

But it will be interesting to see how this interactive documentary turns out. Who else will adapt this idea to their town. What world issues could be solved by similar experiments. Could great things be learned and come out of this project.

Time will tell.

STOP ADS ON THE CBC!!

Let's be honest here, advertising today is UNHEALTHY!! And EVERYBODY knows it! All it does most of the time is tell you that you are fat, unhealthy, smell, or need something. What ever it's selling, you are not going to be happy until you have this. One of the things I love about being in Mexico right now, is we have no TV.

That's right, no TV and I love it. We don't even have a radio.  I have the internet and I am informed but I chose the info I receive by following the channels, pages that I like.

The CBC is a sanctuary that for those people who enjoy it, listen to it because it's super unique and doesn't have all those horrible ads.

It's true, the Harper government is brutalizing it with deep budget cuts but people have to support the CBC and take on Harper, not cave in and put ridulicous demeaning advertising on it. I realise they must be desperate and people jobs are on the line, so please I understand that I have empathy for the people trying to make the right decisions faced with these difficult issues but this not the right decision.

Watch these videos that they created. It comical but it's very realistic in it's depiction about what will happen to the CBC.



It's just to bad they can't outlaw all "negative" advertising on TV and Radio, it's obviously what people want.  The internet is just as bad but you more control. On TV or radio all you have is mute.

People obviously realize it unhealthy and they are unhappy with it,  that's why they pay the big bucks to pre-program the TV, so they don't have to be harrassed and brainwashed by negative advertising. Not everyone has that option of pre-programming and it doesn't exist for radio.

I guess that's really the next step these petition campaigns have to take is to stop negative, demeaning, brainwashing and inappropriate advertising.

 I remember once watching a show with my daughter on YTV (I TRULY DISLIKE THE ADS ON YTV-NOW THERE'S PLACE TO START A STOP THE ADS CAMPAIGN) but sometimes there are good shows or movies and my kid really wants to watch, so it's super frustrating)and yes it was targeted at pre-teen kids, but my daughter who was 8 or 9 at the time  was watching and every commercial break a condom commercial came on.

And the ad was targeted at adults, it wasn't a be careful gentle approach in a way that would be appropriate to educate younger children, so we had to have a big conversation about that and she was pretty grossed out because the same commercial "CONDOM MAN" (or something like that) kept coming on. Yuck! Poor kid :( Poor me :( Poor Everybody :(

I hope people will speak up on this issue. This is a good start and I hope it opens the flood gates of discussion on this subject. Let's Stop Ads on the CBC, but let's Stop the Negative Advertising Everywhere.

 Let's just have positive happy healthy moments, where people are encouraged to get up and stretch and take a breath, take a walk, meditate, enjoy the day, do some art, hug a loved one, cuddle their pet, now that is the type of advertising that could really change the world.

So this morning I received a very disturbing email. (See below)

Stephen Harper is going to try to push thru a VERY FLAWED BILL AND YOUR PRIVACY IS IN SERIOUS DANGER. Basically it says that if the bill passes that law enforcement will be able to tap our phones and access our online information WITHOUT a search warrant and the will be able to access it by just "SHOWING REASONABLE CAUSE" to the service provider. That "reasonable cause "  wording is way to flexible and you know that it can be abused.

Let's not give our privacy or our rights away!! We have to STOP this now. 

Start re-posting this on your Facebook, Twitter & Google+ and raise awareness.  Make sure you do your part to let EVERYONE know about this terrible bill.

This bill needs to be treated the same as the "Stop Gordo from getting the award" because it's way more important. So Listen UP!! and Speak Up Canadians, because this is some serious sh_t!!!

Omnibus Crime Bill

In a few weeks, Parliament will resume and Elizabeth May, Canada’s first elected Green MP, will be in the House raising the issues that so many others won’t speak to.
Harper’s Conservatives plan to table an omnibus crime bill that contains some very bad legislation. Three of the more disturbing items lumped in with the omnibus Crime Bill are collectively known as the “Lawful Access” legislation:

• Improving Access to Investigative Tools for Serious Crimes Act (C-50)
• Investigative Powers for the 21st Century Act (C-51)
• Investigating and Preventing Criminal Electronic Communications Act (C-52)

The Green Party supports efforts to tackle cyber crime, but is deeply concerned about the erosion of Canadians’ privacy. Currently, government agencies must show probable cause and obtain a court order before tapping your phones, and intercepting your mail and online communications. If this bill is passed, government agencies will be able access your online communications without a court order--they need only tell your service providers that they have a ‘reasonable suspicion’.
In this context, reasonable is a dangerously flexible word that threatens your right to privacy. A reasonable government would give each section of the crime bill the attention that it deserves, encouraging debate and a clarification of possible, unforeseen consequences. Omnibus bills are known to make profound changes to unrelated aspects of administration and policy, especially because Parliament can’t properly study them.


With a majority government, knowing that it can pass every piece of legislation that it creates, the Conservatve government shows a disturbing contempt for Canadians by continuing the practice of linking highly dubious laws to those upon which we can all agree.
Elizabeth forced the Conservatives to take the Mega-Trials section of the omnibus bill to committee and we were able to help fix serious flaws in that section. Now she needs your help in reminding the Conservatives that Canadians care deeply about our justice system and right to privacy. This bill should be divided into logical segments and debated with the attention and seriousness that Canadian voters deserve from their MPs.
