Post Riot Clean-up - Let's help Vancouver

Blog post by Tina Winterlik © 2011

Well this help us feel a little better. Way to go Smithy!

Post Riot Clean-up - Let's help Vancouver
https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=219286898091948
Today at 7:00am - Saturday at 10:00am

Update: Looks like crews have already begun cleaning up which should mean we will be good to go at any time tomorrow. VancouverPD will be contacted in the morning to confirm, pay attention to the event and twitter (@Vancouverclean)

* @vancouverclean - Tweet updates from the clean up! If anyone is there early or knows when the city is open and ready to be cleaned up tweet it so everyone knows!

Once the embarrassing rioting has ended in Vancouver let's all show the world what Vancouver is really about by helping rebuild and clean up so it is better than it was before.

If any city can bounce back from an embarrassment like this it is Vancouver!

Invite all of your friends! Let's see if we can get Vancouver looking like a new city by noon Thursday!

Things you will need:

Gloves
Garbage bags
Friends and family
Music?
Smiles and Canucks spirit

Police may not be ready to have people re enter the city - worried about continued looting etc. so lets start tentatively at 7am. It is very possible that will be postponed. I'm sure this group of people will be completely respectful and follow the orders of any officers.

Shame! What a sad and terrible night!

WTF Vancouver???

If anyone out there knows me, I don't swear...I used to but when I had my child I did every thing I could to curb it. But really tonight takes the cake. Seriously what is wrong with people. Here in Vancouver, we may have issues, but we are not Eygpt, or some other place that need to demonstrate a serious wrong.

No, here a bunch of hooligans, take control of downtown and destroy and loot and act like total barbarians.

SHAME ON YOU! You have the WORSE karma ever now. And for your lack of intelligence you have been photographed and you will be busted. Not by anything I photographed as we left just after O Canada.

The evening started simple enough, I was debating whether to go down and take my kid and be part of history, but this is not the history I wanted to be apart of. This is not what I want to remember.

What happened to good sportsmanship. So Canucks lost. What is the deal here. Someone loses so you go out and burn bears, turn over cars and set fires and loot. Where is the logic. Was it the alcohol?

The whole thing is so shocking and upsetting. The thing is it was mainly young men. Really sad. What's wrong with you?

My kid is all upset and went to bed worried because someone she loves is out driving cab and we are worried about him. So much negative energy. You've really done Vancouver a disservice and yourself.

Anyways, for the beginning it was fun. My girl didn't even want to go, but I convinced her it would be fun. We walked all the way down, and got to where the barricades were but it was so full we just stayed for O Canada and got out of there.  But we got our face painted and she got some balloons and we saw lots of people having fun.

You could tell it was off when they sang O Canada though, as hardly anyone was singing, not like I had seen on the news, it was jam packed and the energy was really high.

We slowly walked backed home. The police presence was really noticeable on Granville and there definitely was a weird vibe there and that is where the trouble did start.

Weird people. Spoiled people. People who have too much and create trouble and destroy things for what ???

I had to explain this all to my little girl. She wants to go downtown tomorrow and see what's left, she very upset about Chapters and for her little brain to comprende all this...what will she remember, ...not good stuff. Now what do you think of hockey.

What do I think,  you don't want to know. ...I'm just shaking my head. And saying prayers. What a waste, what a shame.

#Webelieve #MM- MASS MEDITATION- the Canucks WIN

Blog post by Tina Winterlik © 2011

Dear Canuck Fans, and hey what the Heck, even the Canucks,

Want to do something  cRaZy. Since there's a lot of stress out there, lots of happiness but stress too, ...LET'S CHANNEL IT.  If you listen to these videos, you will have to agree that meditation when done collectively is INCREDIBLY POWERFUL.

Luongo to start for Canucks in Game 5

What if there was a collective Meditation- a "Meddling of the Brains" and that we just project the Canucks will win and they will. SIMPLE!  #WeBelieve

I am seeing this term on twitter #webelieve, now and it's a great hashtag for this. It's so cool as I tweeted a few things about just believing and then this pops up.

Why not before the game we held a small 5 minute guided meditation, projecting that the Canucks win.

Maybe the "Brilliant" cameraman, tv, film folks could actually put together footage and make it a projection- visualization of them winning. (This isn't new in sports but to do a #MM  ~ MASS MEDITATION would be)

Anyways, that's my cRaZy idea. A #MM ~  MASS MEDITATION RIGHT BEFORE THE GAME WITH EVERYONE PROJECTING (visualizing) CANUCKS WIN, AND GIVING THANKS FOR THAT AND ALL THE OTHER GREAT THINGS IN THEIR LIVES!!!  Doesn't that seem insane, but what a COOL experiment.

When the Canucks WIN then we could take this example and apply it to all sorts of issues.

We're facing a choice of staying in our old ways of thinking, of today's world of power apartheid, the haves and have nots or instead personal peace, freedom and technologies able to transform to a clean abundant world.

The Choicepoint community aims to share some of the solutions to personal and global transformation - looking at peace, health and energy freedom. Please share this with your friends and join in the change.
