But it's not mine and I don't care, I happy everyone is using it. But someone got upset with me saying the were upset I was using it for self promotion but the whole idea is to use ART in the FORM of a PROTEST AND PEACEFUL DISOBEDIENCE so we can #SaveOurcoast and I had made all the paintings and was sharing...but someone didn't like it. Then I found out a WHOLE LOT OF PEOPLE are suddenly using that hashtag.

I was so happy because I just finished my wolf painting!

The 10th painting in a series I called #SaveOurCoast to bring attention to the what would happen if there was an oil spill on our beautiful coast of British Columbia, Canada.

I was offended this person accused me of that. I actually have stated http://theforestfairybyzipolita.blogspot.ca/ that any of the painting I sell from now on (Deer in Water #1, Deer in Water #2 or The Wolves) I am donating half to environmental group that have court costs, so that hurt.

What ever, some people just lash out before actually taking time to research and understand.

Trip Down Memory Lane for Family Day

Happy Family Day! I thought a trip down memory lane was in order.
I came across this great old video of a road trip through the Fraser Canyon.
My family moved to a place between Hope and Yale - to what would be called Dogwood Valley eventually but that was 1969-1973. If you look on this at 1:29 that was the place my dad bought.

And at 2:29 is the highway we stood by as cross-patrols while the semi's barreled through the little town of Yale where I attended school grade 2-6. Later I took the bus to Hope...so imagine going the opposite way everyday and afternoon...lucky for me, we moved as I just wasn't exactly thriving...that's another story.

Vancouver police are looking for a young Alberta woman who hasn’t been heard from in more than three days.

Police say Ciala Atwood, 29, just moved here and doesn’t know her way around.
She was out with some friends downtown on Monday night, leaving them around 2 a.m., and hasn’t contacted them or any of her family since.

Atwood is described as white, 5’4” tall with a small build, long black hair, hazel eyes and a number of tattoos covering both arms and chest area.

She was last seen wearing a purple toque, black bomber-style jacket, navy jeans, and black boots with fur trim, and carrying a large white handbag.

Anyone who sees her is asked to call 911 right away.

The truth is it's in everyones backyard...

Opinions, wow, they can bring out such strong emotions. I find many people do not care because it's not in their backyard....but if it was, it'd be a whole new ballgame.

The truth is it's in everyone's backyard...

It's sad because it can pit neighbour against neighbour, families against each other. I pray for peace and calm and rational thought. It's hard when your are scared, hungry and you life is turning upside down.

We are going to see a lot more of this, as people stand their ground and fight for the homes (clean water, shelter and food) against corruption and big Fossil fuel, LNG, Mining, Fishing, Logging.

The earth is sick, people are sick, people want and need change. It will not be easy.

I saw letter that was shared through FB today and had many disturbing issues and I want to share my opinion and maybe enlighten some of you that could be interested in opening your mind and looking at it from a different angle, just so you can see both sides and then make an informed opinion based on facts and not just on fear or even someone elses fears or someone lies.

Bitumen is a whole new ball game, it's not like old oil, it's basically asphalt they turn into oil that can be made thinner and runny and this is just my definition, read the correct wording below.

Valdez Disaster happened, that project started in 1951 due to wars and oil shortage fears

Everyone woke up in 1962, Silent_Spring the year I was born but somehow they fell back to sleep.

We are waking up again though, we are much wiser, we understand that when you kill mother nature, she will come back and kill you in the form of flood, mudslides, hurricanes, earthquakes(fracking), water pollution (Flint)- thus cancer and death or no drinking water -

When homes are $1 million, and rents are 3/4 of check, and food prices are going higher by the minute, cities will implode and it doesn't matter how much oil they have.

There are big problems with the whole oil industry, with the mining, logging, fishing, farming where ever you are destroying the earth and not respecting it.

Climate Change disasters are real and they caused by pollution and everything that comes when you destroy environments.

Who suffered last summer when we couldn't go outside because the Forest Fire smoke was so bad. This will continue.

What about the Marshall Islands, you want to go live there, raise your children there? The islands are literally disappearing.

We can not do things on a mass scale, maybe for a while but as we all know, nothing last for ever....or does it???

I can't let you go off with all this depressing info. We can change. Change is happening. I hear more people getting enlightened everyday. We have to work together, it's the only way....think smaller, local, community, neighbour, treat others as you wish to be treated...that's a really a biggy, try it...

Painting Wolf Demo #1 to #3 by Zipolita

Helloooooooooo!!

So for me, painting is art therapy. Some of you may know I was on the computer so much this last week, trying to prepare an application for something special I wanted. I finally submitted it. Now I need stress relief!!

So I got a new tripod (I have wanted one for a really long time) that can be mounted on almost anything and I rigged it to photograph my painting, so I can show my progress.

I goofed it though as the photos were not cropped exactly the same. I will do better tomorrow when I try to repeat this and every day that I paint so I can show you my progress.

Okay here I updated it. Just watch this and you will be up to date. Keep watching.
